Chapter 448: Chapter 448: Do You Like It When I’m More Dominant?

"Tang San shows no signs of that life-draining aura, which means he hasn't really relied on this method much. Perhaps his Mysterious Heaven Skill mutated, and he didn't need it. This dark technique does seem like something the Tang Sect, an assassin clan, would develop."

"For organizations that train assassins, it's not feasible to invest excessive time and resources into training. Instead, they'd likely use methods that quickly bolster strength, producing expendable warriors known as 'death soldiers.'"

"By sacrificing longevity to rapidly increase power, they can mass-produce puppets for the sect. Dai Mubai's group may not be 'death soldiers,' but at this rate, they won't last long. Especially Oscar—he once had a shot at becoming the Food God. Now? He's wrecked his future, threw it away. Tsk tsk."

"Dai Mubai probably flaunted his newfound strength as a Soul King to Zhuqing, not expecting her to be almost as strong and with a ten-thousand-year fourth ring. Realizing that, his emotions must have exploded."

"He probably suspects Zhuqing's ring was my doing. Seeing how close we are, while Zhuqing's technically his fiancée, he likely felt humiliated. He even insulted her, when I swear, nothing's happened between us yet! I mean… yet!"

That "yet" caught everyone's attention, though they kept their reactions to themselves. Zhu Zhuqing simply smiled, having finally let go of her worries about Star Luo.

After the tournament, she planned to follow Su Ming into Spirit Hall. Once there, with Spirit Hall's protection, the Star Luo royal family would hopefully hold back from harming the Zhu family. While Zhu Zhuqing didn't feel much attachment to most of her family, she still cared for her parents and her sister.

"I didn't expect Davis and the Star Luo team to appear. Well, with both princes here, it's time to stand by Zhuqing. It's just a little prince, nothing to worry about!"

"I might have even eased some of her concerns without realizing it… I'm starting to think she prefers a bit more dominance?"

In another room…

Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong both looked directly at Zhu Zhuqing, who blushed and seemed a bit flustered.

"Zhuqing, who would've thought you like a guy with a dominant streak?" Xiao Wu teased.

Zhu Zhuqing fell silent, realizing it might be true. She'd always appreciated Su Ming's calm demeanor, yet something had been missing. Today, however, when he'd confidently protected her, she felt her heart skip a beat, as if captivated by his assertiveness.

Images of leaning into his chest earlier filled her mind, making her cheeks flush again. She never imagined herself doing something like that! Was this the real her?

At six, before her spirit awakened, she and her sister had lived happily without worry. Perhaps back then, she'd been her true self. Letting go of her burdens seemed to be slowly bringing that side of her back.

Reflecting on her earlier assertions to Xiao Wu and Rongrong—that she'd never fall for Su Ming—only made her feel slightly embarrassed. She'd assured them, but now, here she was.

Feeling a pang of guilt, Zhu Zhuqing said, "Xiao Wu, Rongrong… Are you upset with me?"

After a brief pause, she voiced her question hesitantly.

Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong exchanged glances and pretended to look displeased.

"Of course we're upset!" they chorused.

"Wait, what?" Zhu Zhuqing tensed, regretting that she might've hurt them. What should she do?

"We're upset that it took you this long to see how amazing Su Ming is! You've known him for nearly two years; only now do you realize?" they teased.

They'd intended to prolong the joke, but seeing her expression shift, they quickly dropped it—there was no need to make her feel worse.

Realizing they'd only been joking, Zhu Zhuqing let out a relieved breath and playfully wrestled them.

"Alright, enough! Let's get back to Su Ming's diary, hahaha! Stop tickling me!" Ning Rongrong laughed, unable to keep up.

Being the smallest, she tapped out first, admitting defeat to Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing, who wore triumphant smiles.

After mere seconds, Ning Rongrong was out of breath, her face flushed and a bit sweaty.

Chapter 449: Chapter 449: Rage Awakens the First Tomoe? Zhu Zhuyun’s Hidden Burden?

"Later, Zhu Zhuqing briefly mentioned her sister, Zhu Zhuyun. Before Zhuqing awakened her martial soul or formally became Dai Mubai's fiancée, the sisters were very close, and her older sister cared deeply for her."

"However, after Zhuqing awakened her martial soul, things changed drastically. Zhuyun grew distant, even hiring assassins to kill her later on, according to the original storyline."

"But what stands out most about Zhu Zhuyun isn't that—it's her behavior during the Spirit Master Tournament when Shrek Academy faced the Star Luo Team."

Zhu Zhuqing grew curious. It sounded like Su Ming was about to reveal something significant about her sister. What had happened to make it so memorable for him?

"The tournament results aren't important—Shrek won. What's shocking is Zhuqing's choice to spare her sister, only to be blindsided as Zhuyun attempted a sneak attack once Zhuqing turned her back."

"Luckily, Zhuqing reacted in time, narrowly avoiding serious injury. That incident left a lasting impression of Zhu Zhuyun as someone to distrust."

Zhu Zhuqing read this with disbelief. Why would her sister turn on her like that? Was winning at all costs truly worth severing their bond? Su Ming's account suggested Zhuqing had willingly spared her sister, making her surprise attack seem even more unnecessary.

"Reflecting on Zhuqing's story today reminded me that, in the original, she only escaped Star Luo by the skin of her teeth, pursued relentlessly by Zhu Zhuyun. Given that Zhuqing was merely at Spirit Grandmaster rank, it's a wonder she survived. A Spirit Grandmaster traveling alone across two empires would face constant danger, even more so with Zhuyun actively hunting her."

"Zhu Zhuyun likely possessed at least Spirit Elder strength at the time. With similar martial souls and a team in pursuit, how did Zhuqing escape? Pure luck, or maybe…her sister's 'chase' was a cover to protect her?"

Seeing this, Zhu Zhuqing's mind buzzed. If her sister had truly wanted to kill her, Zhuqing would have stood little chance. Could Zhuyun's pursuit have been a ruse to ensure her survival? But then why the betrayal at the tournament?

Conflicting emotions filled her heart—part of her wished it were true that Zhuyun had helped her, but the idea of her sister being both a protector and attacker left her reeling.

"This story strangely parallels the relationship between Itachi and Sasuke from Naruto. They, too, shared a deep bond—Itachi doted on his younger brother Sasuke, but later received an order from the organization he joined: to either destroy his clan or risk Sasuke's life."

"Faced with such a choice, Itachi sacrificed his clan, leaving Sasuke to live, although it drove Sasuke to hate him, vowing to kill him in revenge."

"The organization's motives were straightforward: the Uchiha clan was growing too powerful. Their eyes—Sharingan—were dangerous, with abilities unlocking only under extreme emotional stress."

"Not every Uchiha unlocked the Sharingan, and even fewer achieved advanced forms like the Mangekyou Sharingan. Still, this power was feared. Just with my own Mangekyou Sharingan, I took down the demigod-strong Yukimoto. And beyond the Mangekyou lies the Rinnegan, which only three Uchihas ever achieved: Sasuke, Obito, and the legendary Madara."

"But speaking of Sasuke and Obito, there's something hilariously ironic—when Sasuke witnessed the fall of his family, he unlocked just the First Tomoe in his Sharingan, while Obito, seeing the girl he loved die, skipped straight to Mangekyou. Hah!"

The girls' expressions were mixed—Zhu Zhuqing's friends looked puzzled, realizing that this "Sasuke" must have had unusually low talent. How did he later achieve something as powerful as the Rinnegan?

"So, at that moment, as Itachi fled, he saw his younger brother, shattered by tragedy, awaken…only the First Tomoe. It's hard to imagine what went through his mind!"

Despite their confusion, the parallel between Itachi and Sasuke's dynamic and Zhuqing and Zhuyun's relationship struck a chord with everyone. While Zhuqing had long since accepted her sister's cruelty, Su Ming's theory was unsettling yet strangely hopeful.

"Of course, this is only my theory. Still, if Tian Dou faces Star Luo in the tournament, I'll watch for signs. Perhaps Zhu Zhuyun is a sister who genuinely cares for Zhuqing, hoping she'll cut ties decisively, avoiding deadly competition later."

"Zhuyun must know that if Dai Mubai and Zhuqing lose, the ruthless Davis won't spare their lives. For her sister's sake, maybe Zhuyun staged this whole act?"
