After the incident, Ren decided to plan to take the food supply. In the increasingly chaotic situation of the world, they didn't know when they would run out of food, so everyone agreed to the plan. When the preparations were made, Shizuka asked Ren a question regarding the fate of the Shido group that had been expelled.
Ren said with a cold expression. "If Shido is in our group, we'll have trouble protecting ourselves," he answered firmly. "Expelling them is the best option we have."
Shizuka lowered her head, feeling deep fear. She recalled the sharp and frightening gazes of the members of Shido's group, which were still imprinted in her mind. Their gazes gave her goosebumps and anxiety. She imagined how dangerous it would be if they were in the same group.
Recognizing Shizuka's anxiety, Ren stepped closer and placed a hand on Shizuka's shoulder, providing moral support. "Everything will be fine," Ren said softly, trying to calm her down. "We have a plan and we'll get through this together. We'll face all of this and stay safe." Ren hoped his words could provide some sense of calm and hope amidst the chaos.
After Ren comforted Shizuka, Kyoko who had been silent all this time suddenly spoke "I want to stop by my house. My mom lives there, and I want to save her."
Ren looked at Kyoko for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Fine, we'll make time for that. However, before we go, I wonder if any of you also have other families that need saving."
When asked, everyone fell silent. They were indecisive and anxious, realizing a very frightening possibility-seeing their families become zombies. Doubts were clearly visible on their faces.
Finally, Rei raised her voice, "I want to go to elementary school. My family is evacuating there."
Ren looked at Rei seriously. "We'll make a plan to go to the elementary school after we finish picking up food supplies and weapons."
With this decision, they began to prepare themselves. On their way, Ren and his group passed through a street full of chaos. They saw a group of people rioting, vandalizing and looting without mercy. The atmosphere became even more tense as they watched the world crumble before their eyes.
Seeing the riots, everyone was terrified. Ren and the others were silent, mesmerized by how bad the world was out there. Saya finally broke the silence by saying, "Society is slowly losing its morals. They're increasingly showing the worst side of themselves."
Saeko nodded in agreement and added, "Indeed, the world has changed to follow the new rules. Now, the powerful are the powerful. There is no place for meekness or the old rules."
With those words, Ren and his group realized even more how difficult the situation they were in was. They had to adapt to a harsh and brutal new world, where their strength and resilience would be tested more than ever.
After Ren's group arrives at the convenience store, Ren decides to have Saeko along with a few others remain on guard in the bus to protect their vehicle. While Ren will pick up food supplies at the convenience store, Saeko agrees to the plan and softly says, "Wives should listen to their husband's orders."
Hearing that statement, Ren felt the urge to dominate Saeko, but he knew that his priority right now was to focus on their goal.
Ren got off the bus with Saya, Kyoko, and Naomi. As soon as they got out of the bus, they were faced with the terrifying sight of many zombies wandering around the convenience store. Ren swiftly and skillfully dispatched the zombies using his staff, leading his group carefully towards the entrance of the convenience store.
Upon arriving at the entrance, they found that the door was locked from the inside. From outside, they can see a horde of zombies holding the door, the result of the battle sounds they made earlier. Kyoko anxiously suggests that Ren break down the door to get in.
Takagi quickly stopped that suggestion. "Don't break the door! The loud noise will attract more zombies here, and this door is glass-Ren could get hurt."
Instead, Saya proposes to try the back door of the convenience store. Ren agrees and they rush to the back door. Upon arrival, they find the back door locked as well. However, thanks to his experience when he was trapped in the warehouse with Shizuka earlier, Ren was able to open the door easily.
As soon as the back door opened, a very strong smell of blood immediately ambushed them. This thick smell made Naomi and Kyoko vomit immediately, unable to withstand the impact. Ren, who noticed their discomfort, was amazed to see Saya who remained calm and unaffected by the smell.
In a cocky tone, Saya said, "I'm mentally strong enough to deal with this kind of smell." Hearing that statement, Ren compliments Saya while gently stroking his head, making Saya's cheeks blush red with embarrassment.
Ren waits patiently for Kyoko and Naomi to feel better before they continue their journey into the convenience store. Once the two are stabilized, the group continues their search cautiously, prepared for whatever they might encounter inside the dark and dangerous convenience store.
When Ren's group entered the convenience store, they soon discovered that the place had just been looted. The shelves were empty and cluttered, showing how hasty the thieves were. Among the debris, they found a zombie, clearly evident from the backpack full of food. The zombie seemed to be one of the looters who couldn't get out of the convenience store.
Ren immediately set out to exterminate the zombie, while the rest of the group started collecting the remaining food. They observed that the food in the convenience store was quite abundant-maybe they needed to go back and forth to the bus three times to get it all. Luckily, the food stock in the convenience store was untouched by zombie blood, making the group feel relieved that they didn't have to eat while smelling blood.
After gathering the food and loading it onto the bus until they had enough, Ren suddenly saw a group of people on motorcycles approaching the convenience store. Quickly, Ren tells everyone to take cover on the bus. Saeko, with her determination, states that she wants to stay with Ren. Ren agrees, understanding the importance of keeping safe in this uncertain situation.
When a group of motorized people stopped in front of the convenience store, Ren counted their number-there were eleven people. The leader of the group got off his motorcycle and approached Ren, asking in a pressing tone, "How much food is in your bus?"
Ren replied in a cold tone, "That's none of your business." This firm reply drew dismissive laughter from the group, who didn't seem to take Ren seriously just because he was a high school student. They looked down on Ren and his group, making the situation even more tense.
Ren remained calm and focused, ready to face whatever might happen. He knows that every step must be taken carefully to ensure the safety of his group amidst the rising tension.
The leader of the motorized group, in a frightening tone, warned Ren, "Don't mess with me. I'll kill you on the spot. There are no rules here now."
Ren, remaining calm and relaxed, replied, "The same rules apply to me as well. If I kill you, I'm not breaking the law either." This statement only sparked laughter and ridicule from the group. They felt that Ren was powerless against those who had the advantage of numbers.
Then, the leader of the group pulled out a gun and said angrily, "I've warned you. No more chances. Hand over all your food." Panicked voices from inside the bus began to sound, and the motorized group began to taunt, "Whoa, lots of screaming girls on the bus. Don't you want to breed after this?" They burst out laughing.
Another member of the group added in a lascivious tone, "Give up the girl on the bus, too. The one next to you is pretty too. We'll take good care of them." They smiled with disgusting expressions, revealing their ill will towards the women on the bus.
Ren, who could not stand the threats and insults, signaled Shizuka to step on the gas and leave the scene. The motorized group looked shocked and mocked, "Too bad, I wanted to enjoy them while eating." One of the other members added, "It's too bad that you were left behind by a girl, and took all your food with you. It's okay, we'll welcome you as long as you give up the woman beside you."
Feeling his anger reaching its peak, Ren pulled out a gun and shot the group leader in the forehead, killing him instantly. The shocked motorized group had no time to react. Ren then fired at the remaining members of the group until the bullets ran out, and together with Saeko, they brutally attacked the rest of the group.
The fight was fast and intense. With their skill and bravery, Ren and Saeko managed to eliminate all the members of the motorized group. AfterWhen the leader of the motorized group, in a defiant tone, continued to threaten and insult Ren and his group, Ren finally couldn't contain his anger. Quickly, he pulled out a gun and shot the group leader in the forehead. The leader fell down instantly, dead without being able to react.
The motorized group was shocked and fell silent, unable to avoid Ren's next shot. They tried to take up firing positions, but Ren was already faster. Ren continued firing at the remaining group members until he ran out of bullets.
With his ammunition depleted, Ren didn't stop. He and Saeko immediately jumped into the fray, fighting hand-to-hand and using edged weapons to overcome the rest of the motorized group. The fight was fast and brutal, with Ren and Saeko being highly skilled and unrivaled.
Eventually, all the members of the motorized group fell. After the fight, Ren and Saeko made sure that the situation was safe before proceeding to the bus, where they made sure all the group members were in good order and prepared to continue their mission.
