The tension at Blackthorn was building like an unseen storm, with every member of the college's inner circle on edge following the encounter with the Architect. Avery believed they had bought themselves some time after the war of words, but as daylight broke over campus, a new wave of fear washed over her. Whispers spread like wildfire: someone from their own ranks had betrayed them.

She made her way down the main corridor, her mind racing. Lucas is already there, pacing, his countenance gloomy and nervous. Around him, teachers and students clustered in hushed, unnerving groups, casting glances that hinted at rising suspicion.

"Avery." Lucas' voice became harsh as he walked over, his jaw hard. "Someone has been sabotaging us." Alarms are turned off, conversation traces are gone, and protective wards are failing. "We have a traitor."
