Jack's POV

As we drove back home that evening, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that gnawed within me. Jax's call had almost ruined my evening with Luciana, and I couldn't wait to go and see for myself what had really happened.

Someone had made an attempt on Luis' life but Jax had arrived just in time to prevent any of that from happening.

Things were already becoming more than I had envisaged. I never expected to be dragged into such complex acts, not when I had a reputation that shouldn't be tarnished. But then, thank goodness nothing bad happened to Luis before Jax arrived.

"Is something bothering you?" Luciana asked.

"I'm fine," I shrugged, gripping the steering wheel tighter, and stepping on the throttle, all in attempt to dispel any of her concerns. All that was on my mind at that particular moment, was to get to the mansion and find out from Jax what had really happened.
