Chapter 48: (XLVIII) Growing Pains (Part Two)

"Mikaru! My boy!" Daveed exclaimed, stroking his beard with a large grin spread across his face, "I hate yer guts for bagging such a beauty, but Maria? You're a foul dog, you are!" 

"Daveed!" James cried out, turning on his knees as he grabbed the dwarf's chest plate armor. His voice was filled with shock and disbelief, "Not you, too! The pretty boy was supposed to be our wingman!" 

"Enough!" Mikaru shouted, dropping Maria onto his chair as he stormed around his desk. He grabbed Daveed's shoulder and the cuff of James' shirt, dragging them into his office before slamming the door. 

He huffed before turning around and straightening his clothes, his tone businesslike, "Now, the two of you give me the updates on your team's progress."
