Chapter 249: Chapter 246 - The Grindelwald Plan (2)

Principality of Andorra, Andorra la Vieja.

Asterion looked at the letter on his desk and couldn't help wondering what it meant. There were two outcomes to Grindelwald's plan.

The failure of the plan, which would probably result in the death of every living thing on the planet without exception.

The success of the plan, which would probably result in something great.

But it would make Asterion's plan obsolete and meaningless, although it would probably affect his Innate Technique, Asterion wasn't worried about that.

As long as there was Magical Negative Energy, he could create Cursed Spirits even if they disappeared from the planet. If the magical energy didn't exist, Asterion would transfer the Slytherin House Innate Technique into the Black House Innate Technique.

That was one of the reasons he wasn't so worried about the results of Grindelwald's plans.

His only concern was whether such a thing could affect Morgan, all his Special Grade Cursed Spirits could die, but not Morgan.

Letting out a sigh, Asterion emanated a relatively strong magical aura, and a moment later, two men entered his office at the headquarters located in the Principality of Andorra.

Victor and Alastor.

"I'll be away for a while, probably a few days, and I'll leave all matters relating to the war in the hands of both of you." Asterion spoke directly. He couldn't just leave without warning, it would cause chaos and panic on the border, something he didn't want for a moment.

Victor and Alastor were shocked by Asterion's words, it wasn't so simple for the supreme general of a war to leave so suddenly. Asterion leaving at such a delicate moment was simply insane in his eyes.

"It's something important enough to abandon one's post on the Frontier!" Alastor Moody's magic eye looked at Asterion and the man asked directly, his eyes full of suspicion wondering if the young man in front of him was really Asterion Black.

Asterion rolled his eyes at the man's blatant suspicion, but could recognize that his decision was almost crazy in the eyes of most people.

However, he couldn't just stand by and not watch the probably most important event of the 21st century, which would be recorded in the annals of human history as one of the most arrogant symbols humanity could make.

"Yes, I'm going away for a few days. I'll leave two Special Grade Cursed Spirits with you two." Asterion replied with a calm, unquestioning tone. Two Special Grade Cursed Spirits not only for border security, but also to keep an eye on Alastor and Victor.

If there was one thing that Asterion understood very early on, it was that betrayal always came from the person least expected, so it hurt the most, not only emotionally, but also physically and even financially.

"Yes, My Lord." Alastor and Moody spoke at the same time. They both looked at each other and saw the confusion in each other's eyes; Asterion's decision to leave really was shocking news for them. They both really wanted to know what could make Asterion leave the French Border at such an important time.

Looking at the two of them, Asterion shook his head and didn't plan to say anything about Grindelwald's Plan; the fewer people who knew about such madness, the better. He didn't want anyone crazy enough to try and cause a fuss at such a delicate and dangerous time.

Rising from his chair, Asterion walked out under the eyes of the two veteran wizards.

...

It wasn't just Asterion who had earned Grindelwald's invitation, powerful men and women had received the same invitation, all with only one destination.

"The Promised Isle of Avalon. Merlin's Utopia. The residence of the Lady of the Lake, a Wizard Goddess born in Britain." Asterion muttered to himself as he observed the huge black dome, now visible to any wizard or witch. It was as big as a continent and could easily encompass exotic and different landscapes.

The site was very close to England, making Asterion wonder why Merlin had managed to hide such a large place for so long.

Asterion looked around and noticed magical auras arriving all the time, the weakest were Semi-Special Grade and the strongest were all Special Grade. From what he was sensing, there were at least twelve Special Grade wizards and witches in the place!

Patriarch Black had to admit, he had underestimated Grindelwald's influence, the man being able to summon so many powerful people to witness something so crazy was simply shocking to the point where he wondered how many of these men and women had some relationship with the Dark Lord in the shadows.

Remembering that he could succeed Grindelwald, Asterion licked his slightly parched lips at that moment, he really felt like accepting being Grindelwald's Heir without any hesitation.

Shaking his head, Asterion pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind and took a step forward, entering the gigantic black barrier.

Asterion felt like he was passing through a wet film and before he knew it, a strong scent of flowers hit him in the face, making him open his eyes and be surprised by the landscape before him.

Before him was a huge sea of flowers, blue and red, swaying in the gentle breeze of the wind.

In addition to the breathtakingly beautiful scene, Asterion noticed that the whole environment seemed conducive to magic; in this place, any magic would have double, even triple the result. For someone like Asterion and Rose, it was like a fish entering the sea, making his body feel very relaxed at that moment.

Suddenly, Asterion felt a gaze fall on him and he looked down. Not far from him, hiding behind a flower, a pair of adorable blue eyes stared at him with extreme terror.

With a wave of Patriarch Black's hand, the creature appeared in front of Asterion and he held the creature with a curious look reflecting in his eyes.

"Don't eat me!!!" The creature showed an expression of pure horror as it fell into the monster's hands and began to scream while crying an admirable amount of tears. "Tinker Bell doesn't taste good!!!"

Asterion looked at the creature he had captured, a creature he had only read about in books. As far as he knew, this race had been extinct for at least a few thousand years.

A fairy.

Yes, what Asterion had captured was a fairy. No more than ten centimeters tall, she wore a particularly revealing and short green outfit, sporting a pair of very beautiful legs. Her hair was a phosphorescent shade of gold and unfolding down her back were a pair of luminous wings.

Faced with the unscrupulous gaze of the monster who had captured her, Tinker Bell regretted that she would die young, only five hundred years old. She was definitely dead, she would be devoured without a doubt.

The monster in front of her exuded an aura more frightening than the monster at the bottom of the Great Lake, so frightening that it paralyzed her with fear.

"I will not devour you." Hearing the monster's words, Tinker Bell opened her eyes and looked at him with a look full of tears.

"Really?" She asked with a hopeful and surprisingly innocent tone.

Asterion suppressed the smile threatening to appear on his lips, he showed a gentle look while hiding the greed behind his gaze. He hadn't expected this fairy to be so innocent, more innocent than any child. At least human children could sense someone's malice.

Seeing the look in his eyes, Tinker Bell recovered in an instant as she looked at Asterion with a curious gaze, she flew around him, looking at him with extreme cruelty.

"I'm Tinker Bell, a Spring Fairy, you can call me Tink." Floating in front of Asterion, Tink spoke with an innocent and unexpectedly receptive tone.

"Asterion Black. You can call me Asty." Asterion spoke, trying to sound as kind as possible while hiding his increasingly greedy gaze.

Fairies were extinct from the continents for a reason. Her wings had healing properties simply comparable to the Elixir produced by the Philosopher's Stone!!!

As in Merlin's name, Asterion could remain calm in the face of such a treasure. Honestly, Asterion could be considered calm, if it had been anyone else, he would probably have locked the poor fairy up and extracted every drop of the fairy's blood and wings.

"Because he's following you." Unaware of the danger she was in near Asterion, Tinker Bell asked, pointing at Asterion's shadow. Her gaze was torn between fear and curiosity, alternating at different times.

"My magic can control such beings." Asterion replied in a gentle tone as he allowed the fairy to sit on his shoulder. He knew she was talking about Baskerville and not Morgan, who was also in his shadow at the moment.

"Incredible!!! I thought you were a bad guy because of the aura you're emanating!" Tinker Bell looked at Asterion with admiration and didn't doubt his words for a moment, as if she were talking to a friend of many years and not a complete stranger whom she had only just met.

"But you're a nice guy!!!" She spoke with an animation that was simply exhausting for anyone who prized peace and calm as their goal in life.

Author's Thoughts: Poor Tinker Bell, she still doesn't know that she's fallen into the evil wolf's clutches...

Chapter 250: Chapter 247 - The Grindelwald Plan (3)

Hearing the fairy's words, Asterion's lips lifted into a particularly charming smile with his handsome face. You could call him many things like Monster, Executioner, Murderer, Tyrant, but it was the first time he had been praised as a nice guy.

"Tink, can I ask you something?" Asterion asked as he walked in the direction he was feeling Grindelwald's magical aura, the man was in the North of Avalon.

Tink swung her slender legs back and forth as she looked at Asterion curiously, waiting for his question. She seemed eager to answer, trying to look very intelligent in front of the new friend she had just made.

"Is Vivian still alive?" Asterion asked, his voice trying to sound as casual as possible. The reason for the question was simple, if the Wizard Goddess was alive, he might as well turn around and go back to the Border in the Principality of Andorra.

He was absolutely certain that if Viviane were alive, she would never let Grindelwald's plans come to fruition in the face of the possible consequences of the Dark Lord's plan failing.

"Vivian?" Tink looked confused for a moment, but she soon remembered who Asterion was asking about. "You're talking about the Great Mother!"

Asterion wasn't surprised that the fairies had called Vivian that. As far as he could remember, Vivian possessed an Innate Technique related to Nature, more precisely the manipulation of the Seasons.

It might seem like a weak power, but it wasn't. It was a frightening power, capable of reducing humanity to mere ash or ice if the goddess so wished. It was quite normal for the fairies to have accepted Vivian as their goddess.

"I don't know." Tink showed a puzzled expression, pondering how she could answer her friend's question.

"Every hundred years, our elders sing under the Great Lake to wake up the Great Mother, but no matter how many days, weeks, months and years we sing continuously, she shows no signs of waking up."

Tink spoke such important and valuable information as if it were nothing, like any conversation between friends, without any fear or thought of the consequences her words might cause.

Vivian is dead or in a deep sleep, maybe she's not in Avalon.

These were the three possibilities that Asterion could think of with the little information he had gotten from the naive fairy. Personally, he liked the first and last option. Dead or not in Avalon.

If Vivian was in a deep sleep, Grindelwald's plan would wake the goddess up and, like any woman who hadn't had enough sleep, she would wake up stressed and would probably want to crush the insects that had disturbed her sleep.

"Asty, can you do me a favor?" Tink suddenly asked, drawing Asterion's attention.

"Of course, we're friends, aren't we? Friends help each other." Asterion replied by poking Tink's cheek with his fingers, to the obvious dissatisfaction in the little blonde fairy's expression.

Although dissatisfied with the touch on her face, remembering how everyone treated her like a child, Tink was still very happy with Asterion's words. It was possible that she could finally help the elders get rid of the monster beneath the Great Lake.

"There is a Great Lake in the center of Avalon, the elders are fighting the monster that looks like the one in its shadow. Can you chase it away?" Tink asked with a pleading look on her face, and even though the monster had killed some fairies, she just wanted to chase it away.

Asterion blinked and understood Tink's request; at the same time, it was a great opportunity to investigate whether the Goddess Vivian was dead, asleep or not in Avalon at the moment.

Asterion seemed to hesitate, but in the end he looked determined and reluctantly accepted Tink's request. "All right, guide me towards the Great Lake."

The fairy put a big smile on her face and spun in the air while releasing a large amount of golden glitter into the air, which Asterion subtly collected without the little fairy noticing. How could he let such a rare medicine go to waste to nourish the soil?

"You're the best, Asty!!!" Tink said excitedly, giving Asterion a kiss on the cheek.

Rolling his eyes, Asterion was really surprised to meet such an innocent being as Tinker Bell, but thinking that the fairy had never left Avalon, it was quite normal for her to be so innocent and helpless, trusting a person who had just happened along.

Asterion, under Tink's guidance, changed direction and headed south instead of north, where Grindelwald was located. He had plenty of time before Grindelwald's Plan began, so he wasn't in a hurry and flew over Avalon calmly enjoying the scenery.

With Tink sitting on his shoulder, Asterion gradually got a clear picture of Avalon.

The place had stood still in time for thousands of years. The fauna and flora was completely different from the mainland, with all the species he had seen so far in this place being extinct on the continents, including Red Oak, one of the best materials for wand-making.

In all honesty, Asterion wanted the whole of Avalon for himself, and if the war had no clear objective so far, he had no doubt that everyone wanted a piece of this untouched world full of untapped resources. Only a fool would stand still when he saw such a big cake in front of him.

At the same time, Asterion was surprised to discover from Tink that at each end of the island, there was a completely different biome.

Spring, summer, fall and winter, respectively.

They all coexisted at the same time, and it was also where fairies of different ethnicities lived.

Asterion, for example, was in the Spring Region, the home of the Spring Fairies. However, he saw no other fairy than Tink herself.

To which the fairy replied with all possible sincerity.

"The fairies live in a place called the Hive, given by the Great Mother to the Four Matriarchs of the Seasons, very few fairies leave the Hive and enjoy life sleeping or gardening, painting or singing." Tink replied with a bored tone as she looked at the beautiful surroundings, but something that had become commonplace in her eyes and those of the many fairies.

Asterion nodded, this happened to humans with short lifespans, let alone long-lived beings like Fairies, who could easily live for thousands of years.

It's like traveling to every corner of the world and over time, the landscapes, which were spectacular and beautiful, become something futile and dull in your eyes.

(Note: This is something that happens when you travel a lot, I've read about it and I'm still surprised by this information. I wonder what these people do for fun).

At the same time, he knew that fairy society was a society completely devoid of predators, only those who have nothing to fear can live in such a calm and simple environment.

Asterion continued to ask questions, delving deeper into fairy society and gaining knowledge about Avalon. Every time he heard about something that was extinct or even extremely rare being used by the fairies, he showed a helpless expression full of envy.

The fairies used rare materials and resources as if they were nothing, and this seemed to cause a pain in his chest, as if they were using his fortune to shop.

Without realizing it, the journey lasted about five hours, when Asterion finally found himself facing a huge lake. If he hadn't known it was a lake, he would have thought it was a sea; his eyes couldn't reach the other shore of the lake, showing just how big it was.

The water was a sky blue hue, like a huge mirror reflecting the orange sky, which surprisingly had a four-colored sun, green, yellow, red and white.

Although he knew the difference between the Special Grade and the Divine Grade, which he had theorized, seeing the difference still made him surprised, amazed and eager to obtain such power.

Although he didn't know whether Avalon had been born naturally or artificially, he still admired the power of the Goddess, capable of changing everything within a Barrier.

Suddenly, Asterion's eyes were fixed on the bottom of the lake. As the water was extremely transparent and still, Patriarch Black could perfectly see the bottom of the lake, which was several kilometers deep.

Inside the lake, buried deep down, a huge sea monster was sleeping without moving!
