Chapter 234: Chapter 231 - The French Battlefront (2)

October 9, 1994 - The Battle of Andorra.

BOMMMMMM!!!!!

A red bolt of lightning crossed the air, hitting the ground, creating an explosion twice the size of any modern grenade, a crater of just over a meter appeared at the site of the explosion. It wasn't just this attack that blew up the surrounding steep terrain.

BOMMM!!! BOMMMM!!! BOMMMMMMM!!!

Consecutive explosions rang out all over the battlefield, some screams seemed to ring out all over the place, and every now and then, an arm flew into the air, severed by some cutting spell.

"They guessed where we were going to attack." The Portuguese Minister of Magic, Duarte Vilar, commented, looking at the French wizards and those of other nationalities fighting not far from the capital of the Principality of Andorra - Andorra la Vieja.

From what his eyes could count, there were at least seven hundred wizards of varying degrees on the enemy side and honestly, it was a higher number than theirs, if it wasn't for the higher quality of the allied wizards and witches, it would be difficult to defend against such a large number of wizards and witches.

'They guessed or we have a traitor in our midst.' Duarte didn't speak of this doubt, because he didn't need to, everyone in the place was intelligent and had guesses in their hearts. Unconsciously, they all looked at the Italian Minister with discreet glances.

Although he didn't want to be suspicious of his allies, Duarte had lived long enough to know that sometimes greed and self-interest were more tempting than any honor or loyalty in this world, especially when it came to countries.

Asterion didn't care, his eyes were focused on the enemy commander, a brown-haired man wearing a luxurious blue suit, a slightly large beard around his face. The man looked no older than forty and had blue eyes.

From the man's gigantic magical aura, Asterion sensed that the wizard in front of him was a Special Grade Wizard!

Asterion recognized the man almost instantly, there was no way he wouldn't know, there were only 33 Special Grade Wizards and Witches in the world and he had information on all of them, after all, it was public information.

Philip of Bourbon, the Architect of the Earth.

A true French prince, although without any title or power, at least in the Wizarding World, the House of Bourbon was still powerful, although far from its peak in the 18th Century, controlling Spain, the Two Silicas and Parma.

However, Asterion's eyes didn't stay on the French Prince for long, he looked towards Andorra la Vieja, in the city, he sensed two other Special Grade auras!

Three Special Grade Wizards!

Asterion had underestimated the influence of the Coalition of France and other countries, that many Special Grade Wizards was too many to guard a border.

Looking away from the city, Asterion glanced at the three ministers of magic around him. "Minister Alejandro, Duarte and Valentino."

All three looked at Asterion at the same moment.

"There are three Special Grade Wizards, one in front of us and two in the Principality's capital." Asterion said with a calm tone as he looked at their faces and saw how they tensed at the mention of three Special Grade Wizards.

He could even see the fear in the Spanish and Italian Minister's eyes, although the Portuguese Minister was extremely calm, just tense, but without showing any sign of fear.

"They're not going to attack, you don't have to worry, they're sending a clear message, that as long as I don't come, everyone fights calmly." Asterion spoke again, looking the French Prince in the eye.

Honestly, it was a risky strategy that France was taking at the moment. If you think French civilians were prone to rebellion and beheading kings and heads of states for breakfast, imagine French wizards and witches.

The longer this war went on, the more agitated the French population would become and the greater the pressure on the French government.

Asterion wouldn't be surprised if there was a rebellion within a few months, as he had said before, France's presidential throne was like a TNT bomb ready to explode at the slightest spark. For this reason, the strategy of delaying France's time was truly daring.

Asterion's words made both the Spanish and Italian ministers of magic breathe a sigh of relief, the idea of fighting three Special Grade Wizards was not at all appealing to either minister.

The Portuguese Minister of Magic just snorted loudly and commented sarcastically. "They want to delay time, they've probably mobilized the troops too quickly and are waiting for other reinforcements so that we can attack with an even greater force."

He turned his gaze to the young man with the black hair and red eyes. "I propose to attack, what do you think General Black?"

Asterion was the only one who could fight Special Grade Wizards at the moment, the Special Grade Wizards and Witches of Spain and Portugal were currently unavailable and would take a while to receive the news that they were at war.

Which was normal, given that Special Grade Wizards never stopped studying magic and were true scholars, many preferred the silence of the mountains, far from the intense gaze of the cities, and concentrated on carrying out magical experiments in the hope of advancing to an even higher level of power.

All eager to become the new Wizard Gods of this era, although in a thousand years, there hadn't been a Modern Wizard God, only Merlin being the closest, but never actually becoming one, showing how challenging it was to reach that level of power.

Asterion didn't look at the old minister and raised his lips in an appreciative smile. "You read my mind, Minister." Like Duarte, Asterion didn't agree to stand by and wait for reinforcements to arrive, because this war would turn into a war of resistance, something that could be delayed for months, perhaps years. Especially if both sides set up fortresses.

With his words, Asterion ignored the shocked stares of both the Spanish and Italian ministers of magic, a dark blue aura enveloped his body like a flame and a colossal magical aura spread through the surroundings without any hesitation!

At the same instant, three Special Grade auras also manifested and collided violently in the air, spreading gusts of strong winds and an oppressive, suffocating aura hung over the battlefield!

Asterion and the other three Special Grade Wizards might have been indifferent to the magical aura, but the same could not be said of the other wizards and witches. The fighting that was taking place on the battlefield stopped almost immediately, everyone felt as if a mountain was pressing down on their shoulders.

Asterion showed a calm, cold look, black armor with red eyes appeared on his body, under his shoulders, the crimson cloak rested on his shoulders.

Asterion's feet gradually left the ground and his body slowly flew into the air before the eyes of thousands of wizards, a visible dread spreading across the faces of the French Coalition. While they showed fear, the soldiers from England, Spain, Portugal and Italy gained momentum and morale seeing the figure gaining altitude like a true god.

"Monsieur Black, are you really going to attack us?" Philip asked, flying in front of Asterion, the man's face was incredibly dignified, Asterion's magical aura was far superior to his, and although the amount of Magical Energy could not be a key to victory in any duel, it showed that the other side would have more resistance!

Philip couldn't believe that that absurd amount of Magical Energy belonged to a fourteen-year-old boy! In his eyes, Asterion wasn't at his peak and could grow even more, which made the French prince look incredibly dignified.

This made him want to kill Asterion right then and there, but rationality overcame his fear, it was impossible for him to kill Asterion, especially with House Black's Innate Technique. From the information he had received, Asterion Black possessed more than twenty Special Grade Cursed Spirits.

That alone could consume him enormously, and once his Magical Energy ran out, he would become a fish to be slaughtered by Asterion without any resistance!

"We're at war, Prince Bourbon, let's not beat about the bush and go straight to the end, we can save our precious time." Asterion summoned his atom-cutting sword and spoke with a terrifyingly cold tone, without hiding his thirst for blood.

Philip realized that Asterion wasn't afraid to fight him, even though he had two Special Grade aides. This made Prince Frances' face extremely gloomy.

Seeing his face, Asterion wanted to laugh, there were few people who could make him back down from a fight and Philip was definitely not one of those people, even if there were three more Special Grade Wizards, he didn't care.

Stretching his hand forward, Asterion muttered with a cold tone. "Innate Spell Manipulation - Creation and Manipulation of Cursed Spirits - Summoning."

At the same moment, a sphere of black energy manifested in front of Asterion's palm, it looked totally black and obscure, smooth as a mirror in a perfect sphere shape.

Behind Asterion, six colossal black suns manifested in a mere instant, gigantic red eyes staring at Philip, sending chills through the Prince of France's body.

"That damn monster." Philip muttered to himself, discovering why ten Dark Lords came from House Black. How on earth could anyone not be corrupted by such a mighty power?

However, the French Prince showed no fear, he was a descendant of Charlemagne! How could he be afraid of anyone?

Philip drew a long, sharp sword and moved into attack position.

Philip didn't know it, but Asterion was the Black with the greatest amount of Magical Energy, superior even to the Ancestor of House Black, Corvinus Black.

Although he was confident of fighting three Special Grade Wizards, Asterion was no fool and followed Rose's advice, not underestimating the enemy. Sukuna could die, let alone him, a fourteen-year-old boy!

"Mahoraga." Asterion muttered again, and from one of the Six Black Suns, a large humanoid being wrapped in rags emerged.

Author's thoughts:

There will be a lot of fighting, I'll try not to delay the chapters and keep you waiting, but bear in mind that I may be late, I'm having trouble finding a suitable time to write. That said, enjoy, it's going to be a sequence of fights before we jump a bit to Grindelwald and his plan.

Chapter 235: Chapter 232 - The French Battlefront (3)

The rags that held Mahoraga together began to tear away, one by one, revealing a tall pale humanoid being, over three meters tall. A wheel-like object hovered above his head while the white tail behind his head moved gently sideways.

With every step he took, the ground sank slightly, white smoke came out of the pale creature's mouth while its eyes, which looked like wings, were closed peacefully.

Philip sensed enormous danger coming from that Special Grade Cursed Spirit, there was a malice in it that made the French Prince's face extremely dignified.

Asterion, seeing his reaction, lifted his lips and spoke with a tone full of mirthless innocence. "This is Mahoraga, he killed the Special Grade Wizard from Italy, I hope you enjoy playing with him, Mahoraga loves meeting new friends to play with."

The French Wizard took a deep breath listening to Asterion's words, he filtered out the words meant to irritate him and focused on the information he had received. What stood before him was a real monster capable of killing a Special Grade Wizard!

"Victor, Clarisse, are you just going to watch?" Philip asked, looking in the direction of Andorra la Vieja. Just as he finished speaking, two figures flew across the city sky and quickly arrived at his side. A man and a woman.

Asterion looked at them both with a touch of curiosity. The man looked old, all his hair was as white as it could be, which was rare, given that a wizard aged more slowly and it was only towards the end of his life that his appearance began to age.

He had a stern expression as a sword lay in its scabbard at the man's waist; he was dressed in a simple black suit, without any opulence. If it hadn't been for the sword at his waist and the intensity of the magical aura emanating from the man's tall, erect body, he wouldn't have believed he was a special grade wizard.

Asterion could see that the man in front of him was a simple old man like any other in the world.

Victor Berum, an old nomadic Wizard who had no fixed country.

Next to Victor was a surprisingly young woman, about thirty years old! She had long black hair and purple eyes, the same color as the dress that hugged his body perfectly. Asterion was confused, as he didn't recognize her features, as they didn't match any of the 33 registered Special Grade Wizards and Witches.

"I really want to know what France paid to make you both fight in this foolish war orchestrated by manipulators in the shadows." Asterion didn't jump into combat so quickly, especially without knowing the Enemy's Innate Techniques from those of the woman in the purple dress.

"We weren't paid to fight you to the death, Lord Black, we're just employed to stop your advance." Victor replied, his gray eyes roaming between Asterion and the Pale Beast approaching with slow steps, without any sign of urgency.

Clarisse, standing next to Victor, nodded as she looked at Asterion with a calm but strange gaze, as if she saw something very familiar.

Honestly, Asterion wasn't surprised by Victor's words, the price for encouraging a Special Grade Wizard to kill another Special Grade Wizard couldn't simply be calculated in coins or monetary value, it had to be something important enough to make the wizard in question stronger.

And believe me, something like that wasn't so easy to come by, as you may have noticed after Salazar's surgery on Asterion, the price of these items was often death, which would have happened to Asterion if he hadn't had Baskerville at the time.

Then Asterion's face turned extremely cold as he took a step forward. "Unfortunately, you've miscalculated something... I'm going to fight to kill you three."

Behind him, two other gigantic figures emerged from the Black Suns of energy.

----

Everyone was shocked to see the gigantic six suns above in the sky, even though they were far away, they could feel the maliciousness and the colossal amount of negative magical energy increasing every moment.

It was as if the door to hell had been opened and demons were coming into the world once again.

At the same time, regardless of country, everyone looked at the armor-clad figure in the air with high spirits and full of admiration. Which, if you thought about it, was quite normal, in a world where strength could make you survive, admiration for the strong was in the blood of every wizard or witch.

Daphne, who was wearing black military clothes, just like all the English soldiers, looked up at the sky and the four figures floating in the air. A trace of concern flashed through her eyes, but she quickly focused on the main thing, especially after hearing the orders of the Vice General, Alastor Moody.

Who, by the way, had arrested her uncle, her mother's brother. Not that he didn't deserve to be locked up in Azkaban and die in that hellish place, her uncle had killed a couple of muggles because they'd just bumped into him.

"The big boys upstairs are fighting and when Gods fight, we mere mortals suffer. So back off and focus on capturing the city, we'll get past the French coalition and attack Andorra la Vieja!!!" Moody looked at the four figures in the sky and quickly acted, the man didn't hesitate and ordered all the troops to attack.

In his eyes, it was an excellent opportunity to invade the city now that all the Special Grade Wizards were away!

With Moody's orders, all the English troops moved quickly. No one hesitated, especially the veterans who followed the order immediately.

Seeing the mobilization of the English troops, Duarte and Alejandro didn't hesitate either and ordered the attack, the slowest was the Italian troops, not that the Italian soldiers were bad, but their commander hesitated to give the order and delayed the attack on their part. And when he gave the order, the Allied troops were fifty meters away.

Daphne countered the enemy's spell, he threw a Diffindo at the enemy while she used the Innate technique of House Greengrass, a blade of wind cut the enemy's neck in a mere instant.

Blood splattered in the air as she watched the man's life pass before her, Daphne's face was indifferent and she didn't give him the chance to counterattack even though he was wounded.

A bolt of red lightning shot out from the tip of Daphne's wand, blasting the man into a million pieces in an extremely bloody scene.

Blood splattered onto Daphne's face, almost completely staining her cheek, but the Future Lady of House Black remained indifferent as she looked around, death and more death appearing before her. An extremely bloody and cruel war. Everyone looked like an animal killing itself on other people's orders.

Daphne's blue eyes caught the figure of Asterion's cousin on the battlefield, Nymphadora Tonks. She looked like a goddess of war, her hands transformed into gigantic hammers and smashed the enemy without any resistance, the scene was even bloodier than hers.

At the same time, Daphne noticed that the quality of the French troops seemed far below what was expected for an army guarding the border.

"Is it possible that they left the weakest on the border and reinforced the inner part of the country?" Daphne muttered to herself as her body began to separate from the ground.

"Innate Spell Manipulation - Heart of Nature - Manipulation of the Elements." Wind and lightning surrounded her figure, she looked like a Valkyria, surrounded by wind and lightning.

Like a conductor controlling the orchestra, Daphne controlled the elements by attacking enemy troops without any discrimination, tore up the ground with her powerful lightning and sent enemy wizards and witches flying with violent gusts of wind.

It wasn't just her who started fighting in earnest - Ana Rodriguez - a young Grade 1 Wizard, tore through the battlefield like blinding lightning. Her figure could barely be seen, she was so fast and deadly that she looked like a wizard killing machine, slicing through them like a vegetable.

"Faster, faster, faster." Ana muttered to herself as her body practically transformed into electricity, her hands becoming scythes reaping lives with extreme efficiency and agility.

The Vice General of England, Alastor Moody, walked calmly across the battlefield towards the city while his right eye seemed to move at high speed, it looked strange and extremely frightening.

Around him, gigantic black eyes appeared in the air while anything near him seemed to become extremely frightened to the point of turning and fleeing in complete terror.

The moment this happened, a bolt of green lightning shot out from the tip of his wand and struck his enemies, killing them on the spot, as the consequences of using high level dark magic mattered little in war. That's what Moody was doing, not caring about international laws that forbade such spells in war.

Duarte and Alejandro, seeing the massacre unfolding before them, couldn't help but take a deep breath. They thought it would be difficult to fight an army of almost a thousand wizards and witches, but seeing the situation in front of them, they estimated that within ten minutes, the enemy troops would surrender or retreat into the city.

And as they expected, the enemies did indeed see the situation they were in and retreated towards the city while still maintaining a front line of spells, delaying the troops from England, Portugal, Spain and Italy.

Seeing the situation, they both looked up and anxiously awaited the outcome of the battle taking place in the sky at that moment!

Suddenly, their expressions changed dramatically as the sky darkened in front of them.

A meteor swept through the clouds and plummeted towards the ground!

In the next second, a deafening explosion rang out across the world as a flash of light blurred the vision of many, including the ministers of magic themselves.

BOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
