Chapter 34: Fuinjutsu (2)

Eager to put his refined skills to the test, Renjiro decided it was time to venture into the realm of seal matrices and seals.

Immediately after training the following day, Renjiro purchased the chakra ink and paper required to make seals. Despite the strain on his finances, Renjiro considered it a worthy investment.

The two objects were very fundamental for making seals. The chakra ink, a subtle blend of pigments infused with the essence of chakra, was used to enhance the potency and longevity of the seals. The parchment, carefully selected for its quality, would cradle the symbols with a conducive surface for seal imprinting.

Back from his errands, Renjiro laid out the chakra ink and parchment with a sense of reverence. Next, he unfurled two scrolls and placed them next to his latest purchases.

The first scroll contained information about the Enclosing technique. The technique was a versatile method that allowed the user to seal a wide array of objects, living beings, or even ninjutsu into scrolls or small sheets of paper. Chakra paper was advised as it conducted chakra better and improved the success rate of seals.

This technique enabled the storage of items or abilities in a condensed form, making them easily transportable or deployable at a later time.

The process involved outlining specific symbols and applying chakra to create a seal that connects to a designated scroll. Once the seal was activated, the enclosed contents would be effectively transferred into the chosen medium.

'This is a basic technique. It's good that it enables the storage of both living and non-living beings. This adaptability allows for creative applications, whether it's for storage, transportation, or even ninjutsu in a controlled manner.'

'Just Like Kisame stored living sharks in his water prison jutsu. Storing such ninjutsu saves up on chakra so that's a plus. With enough creativity, even such low-rank techniques can perform miracles.'

The second scroll contained information about the Unsealing technique. just like the Enclosing Technique, it was a D-rank technique that shinobi employed to reverse the effects of enclosing techniques, allowing them to retrieve and release what has been previously sealed within a scroll or, in some instances, a sheet of paper.

'They are two sides of the same coin. No wonder they are the 'Hello World' of Fuinjutsu.'

'To perform it all I need to do is apply chakra to the seal, to unravelling the intricacies of the sealing pattern and nullifying its effects. The process involves a precise understanding of the enclosing technique, as well as proficiency in unravelling the chakra bindings that have held the stored contents in place.'

'Learning these two would basically be inscribing a storage seal. So the chakra infused opens up a storage dimension that stores the items through enclosing and retrieves them back through unsealing.'

With a deep breath, Renjiro steadied his hand and dipped the quill into the chakra ink. The first stroke traced the outline of the seal for the Enclosing Technique.

The symbols, born from a fusion of ink and chakra, flowed effortlessly from his hand, each stroke a testament to the hours spent mastering the calligraphy of Fuinjutsu.

The symbols, born from a fusion of ink and chakra, flowed effortlessly from his hand, each stroke a testament to the hours spent mastering the calligraphy of Fuinjutsu. As the seal neared completion, a surge of satisfaction filled Renjiro.

'Now, what should I store?'

Renjiro set his sights on experimenting with the types of items he could store within the intricate seals.

His first experiment involved non-living beings—objects that could serve as a preliminary test. Renjiro selected simple tools to gauge the versatility of the storage seals.

As Renjiro infused chakra into the seals, he observed the subtle glow that accompanied the successful activation of the Enclosing Technique. The once-tangible objects now existed within the mystical confines of the scroll.

Renjiro kept piling up objects into the seals. This continued until the objects could no longer be stored on the seal.

'I knew the storage dimension always had limits unless there would be a seal similar to the Kamui. But the accepted weight is around 40 kgs (88 pounds) which is rather disappointing. Considering the puppeteers of Suna use storage seals, theirs must have an upper limit.'

Satisfied with the initial results, Renjiro's curiosity grew. Now, the focus shifted to living beings—rats, small and agile, serving as test subjects for the more intricate aspects of the Enclosing Technique.

As he tried to seal the rat, he felt some sort of resistance at first, but he decided to use brute force to overcome the resistance. After sealing the rat, he quickly inscribed the unsealing technique.

The symbols for unsealing, etched in his mind, flowed seamlessly from quill to parchment. The relations between the two techniques worked like keys and locks where the Lock was the enclosing technique. The unseal technique was the key where you had to overlay it on the Enclosing seal.

Doing so all the objects previously stored came out and Renjiro anxiously examined the stored Rat. To his disappointment, the rat had died.

'Makes sense, the resistance I faced was probably a hint that It would not work. The rat probably died from the lack of oxygen in the other dimension. But if it kills a living being, why haven't people used this as a way to end fights?'

'Just Imagine fighting someone like Madara and just sealing him wouldn't he die? That would be a pipe dream, I think because the difference in Chakra reserves of the target and user would have to be on different levels. Secondly, did Edo Tensei qualify them as living beings?'

Realising that he was veering off from his current objective, Renjiro decided to finish up on his experiment.

'Now since these two parts work, I need to make the Storage seal which effectively combines the two techniques.'

As Renjiro concluded his initial experiments, a sense of accomplishment and humility washed over him. The two Techniques, once abstract, now materialized before him in seal form. He now had to move to the storage seal.

The loud knocking on Renjiro's door reverberated through the quietude of the room he was in, interrupting his concentration. The unexpected interruption drew Renjiro's attention away from the scrolls and symbols that had captivated his focus.

'Who could it be, I did not even sense their arrival.'

Renjiro mostly activated his chakra field whenever he was at home. Sato had advised him to do this as a way to keep training his sensory abilities. Currently, his chakra field was at thirty meters. With a sense of curiosity and anticipation, Renjiro approached the door.

As he swung the door open, the sight that greeted him was as enigmatic as it was imposing—an Anbu ninja, clad in the shadows and anonymity of their distinctive mask and uniform. The stark, emotionless visage stared back at Renjiro.

The Anbu ninja's mask bore the visage of a snarling wolf. The eyes, sharp and discerning, hinted at the profound skill concealed beneath the black attire. Stray strands of hair peeked out from beneath the hood, adding an element of mystery to the otherwise austere appearance.

The Anbu ninja wasted no time in delivering their message. Their voice, muffled by the mask, held an authoritative tone that brooked no argument.

"Uchiha Renjiro, your presence is required,"

'Who might be behind this? Daichi sama? No, this is an Anbu. Maybe it's the Hokage.'

A cascade of thoughts tumbled through Renjiro's mind—questions left unanswered. The urgency conveyed by the Anbu's presence left little room for hesitation.

Renjiro nodded in acknowledgement, a silent acceptance of the summons. Without uttering a word, locked up his house.

The Anbu ninja beckoned him onward. With a final glance at the familiar facade of his home, Renjiro found himself enveloped in the seamless cloak as the Anbu initiated the Body Flicker Technique.

'This is fast! It is actually disorienting.'

In an instant, the surroundings blurred into moving streaks as they traversed the hidden paths of Konoha. The village landmarks became a tapestry of fleeting impressions.

Due to his limited experience with body flicker jutsu, he almost perceives the direction they were heading amid the swift transitions between shadows. The keyword being almost.

Abruptly, the ceaseless dance of shadows came to a halt.
