Synopsis
In a world ravaged by chaos and loneliness, John's life lacked purpose and meaning. The constant protests outside his apartment mirrored the turmoil within him, their noise a haunting reminder of the unrest he couldn't escape.
Lost in unemployment and isolation, John sought refuge in virtual realms, where he could momentarily escape reality. Yet, his existence felt empty, like an abandoned canvas waiting for a painter's touch. With each passing day, he robotically navigated life, seeking something more.
In an unexpected twist of events, a sudden explosion shattered his life, leaving him floating in a mysterious void. As panic threatened to consume him, an otherworldly voice offered him an enigmatic opportunity—to rewrite his destiny, to embrace a higher purpose.
With unwavering determination, John accepted the offer, and a blinding light transported him to a new reality. His consciousness had returned, but his senses felt foreign, devoid of sight. Instead, he sensed momentous events unfolding—a significant figure being born, destined to become the emperor of a crumbling empire.
John VIII Palaiologos, a historical figure tasked with confronting the mighty Ottoman Empire, was now the role he inhabited. As he grappled with his newfound identity and the weight of his responsibilities, he realized that his journey had just begun. The fate of an empire rested on his shoulders, and he was determined to shape history in a way that would bring hope and transformation to his world.

Keep updating, there is shortage of good Byzantine revival fic.Waiting to see how our MC turns the Ottoman conquest of balkan for its own benifit during Ottoman civil war.
This is one of this year's best historical fiction and reincarnation novels. So far, I have read the current 34 chapters, and everything about this novel is brilliant. The author uses historical evidence and interweaves it with their novel, while including modern tactics and policies to better the declining Empire. And this guy pulls high-quality chapters out of nowhere everyday which makes me give him these five stars and my full respect.
So far the story has been great and its unique cuz there are not a lot of byzantine fanfics on the internet so i like the story a lot. I hope you keep posting more chapters for us to read

Bloody fine art this novel is. I recommend this novel for anyone interested in the time period of the fall of the eastern roman empire to the ottomans, and kingdom revitalization and building, with great characters.
I really enjoy this story, it is a great novel about the life and tribulations of life in the 1400 as well as a great kingdom building and military novel!
It's good to see alternative historical novel. I want little more detail about war , military reform and economic development.(i still read ep 11) for me concept of legion is good but too costly for small empire to lose a single battle and military plan is old too use against Parthian tactics that why they change tactics but still not good enough to counter turk or western army. I enjoy it very much. Thx author-San
This is a good read, most of it were quite detailed. Somehow better than most that I had read so far. Keep up the good work and pls update regularly[img=update][img=recommend]
Harap tidak mengecewakan. Seharusya lebih menyenangkan jika mc punya pendamping untuk kerajaannya. Juga, harap bisa dapat update setiap hari. wkwkwk XD
The author grammatical abilities are quite good, however this novel is more akin to a Children’s story than to a historical novel. There is 0 details, important dialogue is not written and usually some repetition. What are the reforms and such are completely skipped, some historical stuff ignored such as Turkish people having no surnames or the fact that diet and medicine of that era will never allow a training regiment even close to US marines. A complete rework is needed for this to be close enough to be good. I can see that as the first novel of the author he is quite good at writing but bad at dialogues and world building/politics/economics to create a historical novel as it is hardest genre to create a good writing as it need research and real political/economic understanding or it will remain a shallow children’s story.
