Culture can be changed, skin color cannot. It’s just how asimilation policies work. That was how it was in US. Blacks were 3rd class, indegenoius/brownish skin 2nd and white 1st class. It’s not a new concept invented by the Chinese. It’s also more prelevent on European cultures that focus on minor differences. For example we Turks call all type of Turkic people Turks. Instead Spain and Italians don’t call themselves Latin but Italian and Spanish. That’s why they are more into assimilation as minor differences lead to division in European societies.
The East African Kingdom is completely different. It seems that except for the lower status of black people, I have not seen any difference between other people.
