Chapter 70: Broken Rules
At the portal, nothing has changed since the previous attack. It was the same quiet place with the orange light from the lava and the portal.
When I got to the well with the portal, I looked at it and it didn't change either. The same crack in space...
Even though I'm used to seeing incredible things like Kaiju and Jaegers, I was still surprised by the portal. Looking at him, it was hard to believe in the reality of what I was seeing. Usually you can see such things in the dreams, but in the dreams you don't think about the authenticity of what you see. But here, when I look at the portal, it seems to me that something is not right.
This portal shouldn't exist and my brain refuses to accept it. If you just imagine that this is a crack, behind which there is another world, the head immediately feels a slight intoxication. Even if it's just a portal to another planet, it's still incredible.
But what if this portal leads to other universes? I smiled at my disbelief at the possibility. It's really impossible, but in the world I'm in right now, it could be. It's just a dream...
After I finished thinking about it, I found the same rock I was sitting on last time. I put the ax to my right, and I held the spear in a vertical position, leaning it against my shoulder.
After this Kaiju attack, I'll need to take a break and rely on the Jaegers. I'll need to go to bed, and it often takes six months to master the Kaiju.
Like last time, I will have to wait a few days here. People couldn't tell exactly when the portal would open. It always happens either a week later or a week earlier. Not surprisingly, in the film, mathematicians had a hard time calculating the exact date of the attacks.
In this dark place, the sound of a portal opening rang out and the light from the well increased in intensity, illuminating the endless expanse of water. After a minute, the portal closed and everything around returned to darkness.
Kaiju is out. I did not wait until I saw him and stood up. I took an ax in my right hand and a spear in my left hand. Standing quite a distance from the portal, I waited for the Kaiju to appear.
A noise was heard from the cliff of the well and something round and smooth came out of it. At first glance, it didn't look like the usual Kaiju, who had armored plates on their heads. This thing was round and soft in appearance. The higher this monster rose, the more I could see it.
The monster had 5 eyes. Five large eyes that glowed with blue neon light. This Kaiju was really strange because after the eyes I didn't see a mouth. Instead of a mouth, there was flesh that divided into eight long, flexible limbs.
'Octopus?' I smiled when I saw this Kaiju. Its thick and long tentacles had blue neon patterns along their length. He was the same size as me.
'And this is your answer? Send some octopus? And what will he do to me?' I could only smile as I saw the Kaiju move his tentacles smoothly to swim in the water. This Kaiju was very similar to a normal octopus. He had no arms or legs, and I wasn't sure if he even had pigtails inside his body.
'OK! This is your mistake. I cant just look at him, I have to act.' Thinking this, I tensed my muscles and roared at the enemy.
ROOOAAAAARRRRR
I specifically added a bit of fire to my breath to make my mouth glow as I roared to scare the Kaiju. After that I paused, I clenched the weapon in my fists and headed towards the Octopus.
There was no answer to my alpha shout, but I didn't care. I didn't even know if this monster had a mouth. I quickly approached him, preparing to strike him with my spear.
Every step I took underwater stirred the water, making it muddy. The distance between us was shrinking. The octopus continued to hang in the water in one place, doing nothing, but the next moment I felt how being pulled towards him by the water.
The water moved towards him by itself, pushing me towards him. This surprised me, so I stopped, fighting the flow of water. 'Is this Kaiju some kind of telekinetic?' I didn't understand what was going on or why the water started moving, but when I raised my head and looked at the Octopus, I understood.
The kaiju sucked water with its suckers... In one moment, it sucked hundreds of thousands of tons of water. Its volume increased very quickly and after a few seconds it was twice as big as me. Only his head was twice as big as me. His tentacles also grew thicker and longer. They were so long that I couldn't even see their end through the darkness of the ocean. And this despite the fact that along the entire length of his tentacles there were blue neon patterns.
The smile on my face immediately disappeared, replaced by surprise and fear. Maybe being twice as big doesn't sound scary, but if you remember that Godzilla-Earth was only 300 meters tall - that's three times the height of a normal Godzilla. If you put them side by side, it seems that the original Godzilla is quite tiny compared to the 300 meter tall titan.
'They've broked the portal… They've bypassed the restrictions.' These were my only thoughts as I took a few steps back and gripped my weapon even tighter.
By challenging the aliens directly, I awakened a monster called "creativity." This Kaiju had never been in movies or cartoons, and I could see why. Water is very heavy. By absorbing water, he not only increased his size, he increased his weight. Now it is incredibly heavy. Heavier than any stone I have ever lifted. He became too strong.
The octopus moved its tentacles gracefully and playfully as it watched me. He seemed to enjoy the shock I received. "I have no choice! I need to beat him!'
ROAAAHHH
I shouted and rushed at him, thrusting the spear forward.
BOOOOMM
When I was near him and was about to punch him by the spear, I was hit by a strong stream of water. The flow of water pushed me back and my feet were torn from the bottom of the ocean. I couldn't stop myself as I continued to fly back.
BOOM
My body crashed into the mountain, shattering it. Rocks broke off the wall I crashed into and started falling on me. It didn't bother me. I felt no pain either from the flow of water or from these stones. I swung my ax, knocking the rocks away, and looked over to where the Kaiju was, but no one was there. Octopus disappeared!
After emerging from the rubble, I looked around for the enemy, but there was only darkness everywhere. Again I felt the water change its direction and swim to where it flowed. After a moment the water calmed down, but I never found the Kaiju.
'I don't like it...' Anxiety was growing in me. I have not hit him once.
I could not find him with my eyes, so I began to listen and feel him like a titan. 'There!' Sensing the Octopus, I headed there. I didn't like all this, so I decided not to play with him with a gun, but to shoot him with my fire.
As I swam in the right direction, I began to charge my attack. The cracks in the armor began to glow in my chest. This light traveled through the veins to the throat and then into the mouth, causing the mouth to glow. I was ready to shoot.
In the oceanic darkness before me, I saw a crack in the ground. We were already far enough away from the portal that the orange light was replaced by darkness. The tentacles of the Octopus could be seen moving in the crack, trying to hide in the shadows. He was there!
PPRRRRRR
I opened my mouth and shot my golden beam where I saw his tentacles, but at that moment something grabbed my leg and pulled me back.
BOOM BAH SHSHSH
My beam changed direction and began cutting the ground, causing explosions and boiling water.
AAAAARRRHH
I screamed in anger as I was dragged back.
BOOM
I slammed the spear into the ground, driving it very deep. The kaiju continued to pull me back with its one tentacle, but I held on to the spear and stopped. The spear could barely withstand the tension and bent in the direction in which I was being pulled.
I looked down at my leg and swung my ax to chop off the tentacle.
BOOM
I swung my ax, but Octopus let go of my leg just in time, and my ax hit the ground, kicking up mud. I immediately regrouped and pulled the spear out of the ground. Looking around, I saw five eyes looking at me from a completely different direction than the crack in the ground where I could see his tentacles.
'He's just playing with me! This fight is really going to be tough…' Exhaling heavily, I rushed at him again.
BOOM
As I was swimming towards him, something hit me in the back and knocked me to the ground. I tried to get up, but something hit me from behind again.
BOOM
Then another blow.
BOOM
And one more!
BOOM
AARRRHH
These blows were heavy, as if someone had hit me on the back with my own brick. Each blow prevented me from rising and pressed me into the ground. The sand from the bottom of the ocean polluted the water, and nothing could be seen, but I felt that these blows were coming from different angles. Its long and thick tentacles were strong. They were almost as wide as I was. Their weight was equal to hundreds of tons of water, which they absorbed.
BOOM
Another blow drove me into the ground, splitting rocks. I couldn't just lie here. The whole time I didn't let go of my weapon because I felt that all the tactics the Kaiju used were because I had a weapon in my hands. He was careful.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
The blows accelerated and became stronger. My armor was able to withstand these blows, but they were damaging my internal organs.
ARRHH
I seized the moment and turned sharply on my back, shattering the rocks around me and pointing the spear in the direction the blow was coming from.
SSCREE
I felt something go limp on the spear and immediately rose to my feet and struck in that direction with the ax. The water was murky so I couldn't see anything, but I felt like I got something with my ax.
SSCREE
Another scream of pain rang out, and at that moment I was hit by the same jet of water that had thrown me back the first time. All the sand in the water was scattered and I saw traces of blue blood in the water. The kaiju jerked its tentacles away from me, ripping one of them from my spear, causing his flesh to tear and bleed more.
All this happened while I was flying away from Octopus. When I came to, I was already far away, and the Octopus was nowhere to be found.
