Chapter 85: CALLING OFF THE ENGAGEMENT

Lord Lucas turned towards Magdalene to see how terrified she was. He could tell that the lady was not used to seeing such things or perhaps might have never witnessed a scene like this , although beheading, burning and hanging of criminals isn't a new tradition, many still couldn't bring themselves to watch such horrible act.

Magdalene was tightly clasping Lord Lucas hand, without even being aware. When she saw the human head roll out of the body her heart seized beating. It was an awful feeling, something that she had never witnessed before.

She didn't want to witness a scene like that ever again, and she didn't want more deaths just became of her.

Lucas didn't stop her from holding his hands as it was something he wanted her to get use to.

When she saw her hand on his , she quickly retrieved it and bowed her head, blushing faintly.

"Please, don't kill anyone anymore" She pleaded with Lord Lucas looking at him with her red puffy eyes.
