Jiang Huang took a slow but deep breath to calm his nerves. Even though he knew whatever decision he made, was his to make and the court would respect, some part of him couldn't help but feel he would be disappointing the court somehow by choosing the path of least resistance and letting go of the whole thing.
He knew the thought was deluded, and it was his vindictive side egging him, but still, he couldn't shake the feeling he was disappointing the court somehow by not challenging Lin Duyi and Yao De to a life-and-death duel.
Feeling calm enough to make his statement, Jiang Huang lowered his gait slightly to bow his head which brought him tremendous pain, but he marshaled through it.
