Chapter 2: CRYBABY

The sound of the coughing blood could be heard all around the back street as four highschool boys from a lower gang bowed down at the grimy ground, their hands in front with their forehead contacting the ground, bowing to the person who stood ahead of them. They continue to apologize to that person, having been crushed by this person in a kick to the head. They were terrified and needed to give up and accept their loss in order to save their lives from another kick. They couldn't do anything since this person was actually stronger than they had anticipated.

Moreover, that person was a "she."

"Can you repeat what you said earlier?" With her head held high and her gaze fixed on the four delinquents, she inquired with a boredom displayed in her face. "Do you think girls are weak and don't know how to fight themselves?"

"I'm sorry, please accept our apologies." One of the four delinquents responded. "We underestimated you." Despite the fact that they couldn't see her face since they were kissing the ground, multiple sweat droplets flowed down their cheeks as they sensed her furious glare.

The girl chuckled as she began walking away. "Don't show your face to me again," she halted, taking a peek over her shoulder. "or I won't show you mercy the next time."

"SUMIMASEN!" The four delinquents spoke in unison, finally able to relax after realizing she had already left them there with bruise on their faces.

Being a girl has its drawbacks, but it also has its advantages. Imagine being misjudged by others because you were simply a girl, and they assumed you were only good at girly things when you were actually more than what they saw on the outside. Girls are free to do as they like. Even in a fight, girls can do what boys can. And what she did was just showing those four delinquents what she was capable of.

She was capable of beating anyone.

She squeezed her knuckles as she walked back to school, she forgot to take her bag with her when one her classmates had unexpectedly requested that she meet at the back of the school, not realizing it was actually a trap set by those four delinquents who had dragged her out of the school and down the back street. She felt betrayed.

"How could he?" As she continued to walk, she muttered to no one in particular.

She crossed her arms across her chest, unconcerned to the greetings she was receiving from her schoolmates.

"KILL HIM KIYOMASA!"

"WHAT'S WRONG HANAGAKI?!"

"ONE PUNCH BETTER NOT BE ENOUGH TO TAKE YOU OUT!"

She came to a halt when she heard a ruckus, even though she knew what was going on. She didn't typically give a damn about these delinquent matches, but when she heard Hanagaki's name, her feet began to walk on their own.

She spotted highschool delinquents watching an unfair duel between Kiyomasa and Takemichi as she walked towards the group of students

"That's enough Takemichi!"

"Just stop. You're gonna die!"

Takemich was on his knees, blood dripping down his face and his head down low. Takemichi had already suffered a lot of beating from Kiyomasa, but he didn't appear to want to give up just yet.

She remained silent, her gaze fixed on the fight while attempting to restrain herself from interfering. Takemichi was the one who warned her not to help him anymore, so she knew he wouldn't appreciate it if she just barged in and helped him again. After all, she was Takemichi's cousin that everyone knows about, while Takemichi was just the second Hanagaki who had always been in his cousin's shadow.

"KILL HIM, KIYOMASA-KUN!"

Everyone was rooting for Kiyomasa, who had the upper hand in this unfair match. Everyone could see that Takemichi lacked physical strength, but no one tried to stop Kiyomasa from beating Takemichi to death. They simply surrounded them and cheered.

"Give him death! Give him death! Give him death!"

Her teeth clenched in frustration as she yanked the person in front of her by the collar and threw him into the wall. Everyone was too distracted with what was going on in front of them to notice what she was doing... or so she thought. She had caught the eye of one person who had witnessed what she did. He had never seen a girl watching a match with delinquents so close, except for his younger sister.

"When will you ever learn, Michi?" She muttered under her breath as she wiped the dust off her uniform and gave one last glance at her younger cousin, who already resembled a beaten punching bag. "I guess I'll have to treat that wound once again."

His piercing black eyes followed the girl's figure as she turned around and began walking away, her (h/c) locks bouncing with each step she took until she vanished from his view. Mikey sighed and wondered whether he'd ever see that girl again, since she seemed like a cool person to hang out with. But now his focus was pulled back to the blond boy in front of them, who had also piqued his interest.

Y/n let out a heavy sigh when she finally retrieved her bag, which she had left inside the classroom. She looked around for a familiar face who had earlier sold her to those four delinquents, planning to beat the heck out of him for betraying her, but she couldn't find him.

She had a long and exhausting day, especially because she was the school's top athlete slash one of the top students, and being a delinquent added to the mix. Although the school considers her a troublemaker rather than a delinquent because it does not suit her image, boys are more likely to become delinquents, they said.

Why does she dislike being labeled a troublemaker? She never went out of her way to cause trouble; instead, trouble came to her naturally. Takemichi was the same way; trouble always seemed to find him, and she wondered whether it was because of their Hanagaki blood?

"Are you going home, Hanagaki-san?" She swung around when she heard the familiar voice, her hand holding the bag strap as she faced the the girl she had known since middle school, though this girl was one year younger than her.

"Hina-chan!" She smiled, as if she had forgotten about her displeasure with Takemichi's obstinacy and Kiyomasa's brutality. "Yes. I'll be going home now. How about you? Takemichi will walk you home?" she questioned, although she already knew the answer. Takemichi was currently being beaten up by a third-year student.

Hinata shook her head. "Actually, Hanagaki-san, I haven't seen him since this morning. He's probably with his friends right now."

As she gazed at the younger girl in front of her, the (h/c) haired girl abruptly lifted her right hand, and rolled her eyes playfully with a smile.

"Stop calling me Hanagaki, Hina-chan. We're friends, aren't we? Just call me Y/n."

The light brown-haired girl was taken aback by what she just heard. Hinata had never thought that her boyfriend's cousin would consider her a friend because they didn't talk much and the girl always had a cold expression on her face, making it difficult for Hinata, or even anyone to approach her.

"See you tomorrow, Hina-chan!" Y/n waved her hand in the air as they parted ways with Takemichi's girlfriend. She stretched her arms as she gazed at the orange sky, the sun was about to set, and it was time for her to head home since she had to help her aunt with dinner preparations.

On her walk home, she abruptly came to a halt on her step as someone appeared in front of her, causing her to squint her eyes at this person, who wore a mischievous smile on his face. His long black hair was loose, and one of his fangs was exposed.

"Being a goody goody doesn't fit you, Y/n," the male greeted, as he leaned against the traffic signal pole, while his arms folded across his chest.

"Fuck off, Baji," she hissed and intentionally bumped him on the shoulder, causing him to take a step away as he lost his balance. He chuckled.

"Oh come on. You still can't forgive me? That way two days ago."

"Fuck you. You left me alone fighting those college freshmen, bastard."

"Didn't you say you could handle them?" Baji grinned as he followed her.

She came to a halt in which Baji did the same too, and she cast a glimpse over her shoulder. "I did. Now get out of here or I'll kill you."

The boy did what he was told because he didn't want to die at such a young age. He knows what this girl is capable of, and he doesn't want to get on her nerves and he could feel that she's already had a rough day.

Baji laughed to himself as he pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed a number.

"Can you fucking do me a favor, Chifuyu?" He began. He sighed with relief as he watched the girl's back disappear from view. "Buy me something that would make a girl..." He paused for a moment, unsure of what to say next because this was his first time. "I'm not sure how to say this, but I guess something that can make a girl happy?"

Keisuke Baji was flushed with embarrassment as a result of his friend's teasing on the other line.

"If you don't shut up, I'll murder you." He said this before hanging up and heading home.

Evening arrived quickly, as (Y/N) had just finished washing the dishes and Takemichi's parents were already getting ready to sleep because it was late. She insisted on doing the dishes since she could sense her aunt was exhausted from work and she wanted to be the one to scold Takemichi and open the door for him.

When the clock hit nine thirty, she heard a knock from the door and wiped her hands with the kitchen towel before approaching the door. She prepared the words she intended to say to her cousin, but as she opened the door, Takemichi gave her a surprised, pained expression.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Michi? You have to stop letting Kiyomasa beat the crap out of you—" she didn't finish what she was saying when Takemichi surprisingly hugged her.

"You're still alive. I'm relieved you're still alive." He sobbed on her shoulders, confusing the girl. Not understanding what he was blabbering.

"What exactly do you mean? I didn't die, you moron." Takemichi continued to cry, tears streaming down his cheeks as his arms covered his face.

She pulled herself out of the hug.

Takemichi could be weird at times, but one thing she was used to about him was that he was always a crybaby, which made her swear to protect him at all costs. Knowing that Takemichi lacked physical strength, causing him to be bullied by others because his girl cousin would always come to his rescue when they were young, but she didn't care.

This time, (Y/N), I promise I'll be the one saving you. Tachibana and you. I'll save the two of you from that dreadful destiny. Takemichi said this to himself as he smiled at you which earned furrowed eyebrows from you.

"You're such a weirdo, Michi."

Chapter 3: DON’T INTERFERE

Students chatted with their friends as they sat down together, eating their bento boxes or the food they bought at the school cafeteria, which was packed with students in different year levels. There are only fifteen minutes left till lunch break ends, which can only mean one thing: the first period of the afternoon will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, (Y/N) had just finished doing her punishment inside the faculty's room for beating up some students from another school the other day. She was carrying a stack of papers that her teacher had given her earlier for her second punishment of the day as she walked towards the vending machine on the ground floor, near the cafeteria. They didn't give her a harsh punishment since they needed her for the forthcoming school-to-school martial arts tournament in a week, and her schedule was already packed with training and classes.

Hanagaki (Y/N) was the school's pride in karate. She had brought the school into national competitions during her first year in high school and now she was a graduating student, they didn't want to give her a severe punishment and just let other things pass. Even though they were opposed to it, they couldn't help it since she was one of the best students in the school. How popular can this delinquent become?

"Hanagaki-chan, you're just as cool as you've always been!" A second year spoke as she walked past him, giving him no response and continued on her way to where she was intended to be.

She stood in front of the vending machine, her gaze fixed on the drink she desired but couldn't have. Why? She had forgotten to carry her wallet with her.

"Dumbass," she murmured to herself, and tilted her head as a shadow loomed over her.

She turned around and was faced by the one and only Kiyomasa himself, who had a beaten face and was accompanied by his underlings.

"What the hell are you looking at, bitch?" He spat, while his underlings cheered him on with grins, his eyes sending daggers towards the shorter female.

She chuckled at his words. "Kiyomasa-kun, I had no idea you could get any uglier than you actually are."

Kiyomasa was furious, his palms curled into fists as he leaned forward to the girl, attempting but failing to scare her with his sharp glares.

"Do you want to die?" He roared, but the girl simply pursed her lips and looked around, making sure no one else was around. The bell had already rang two minutes ago, announcing the start of the first period.

"How about you? Do you want to die?" she innocently questioned.

Takemichi had always told her not to interfere with Kiyomasa, so she had never truly fought with him. She respects Takemichi's request, despite her strong desire to kick the crap out of this muscular boy.

She raised her hand in front of Kiyomasa's face and waved in the air. "Never mind. Your face has already been beaten, plus you're just a waste of time." She made a snide remark as she walked away, leaving their jaws hanging open.

Kiyomasa hissed. "That bitch."

"Kiyomasa-kun, don't push it." As they watched her retreating form head upstairs into her classroom, one of his underlings commented. "Hanagaki-senpai is the school's martial arts star."

"I don't give a damn. She'll get what she asked for." Kiyomasa added. Hatred flowed through his veins as he memorized every aspect of her appearance to his memory in order to remember to take his revenge.

"Draken and that bitch will meet their end."

•••

Takemichi's time seemed to slow down as he pondered how he could save his cousin and girlfriend Hinata from an unfortunate death. He didn't know how to save them or prevent Kisaki Tetta and Sano Manjiro from meeting. Sano Manjiro, though he already met him yesterday during his fight with Kiyomasa.

While Takemichi was lost in his thoughts, two of the top members of a well-known gang had just arrived from his school. Walking with their heads held high as they approached Takemichi's homeroom classroom. The shorter male, on the other hand, came to a halt when he recognized one of the four students who were currently headed towards the restroom on the second floor. When his partner noticed his friend had stopped walking, he turned around to check on him.

Mikey was staring at the four female students, no, he was staring at the (h/c) haired girl who was so distracted with her cellphone that she didn't notice that three of her classmates had already entered the restroom.

"Do you know her, Mikey?" Mikey simply shakes his head in response to Draken's question.

Mike started walking and passed the girl he recognized from yesterday, saying, "I only saw her yesterday." Despite his urge to approach her, he had already made plans for Takemichi.

Whatever, he may be able to see her around or maybe he could ask Takemichi about this girl.

"Why am I interested in her?" Mikey wondered aloud as he neared the room he had been told about.

Takemichi, in the meantime...

"Making sure they don't meet? Isn't that pretty impossible?" As his teacher continued to speak in front of the class, Takemichi mumbled beneath his breath. Suddenly, a scream could be heard from outside, leaving everyone in the classroom confused as to what was going on.

"What school are you bastards from?"

"Get the hell out!"

The door of their classroom slid open, and a shoulder-length blond male with a smile on his face walked in, his gaze falling on Takemichi, who had a surprised look on his beat-up face.

"Hey, there he is." Mikey casually said, unconcerned about the stares he was getting from Takemichi's classmates and teacher. He walked into the classroom with both hands in his pockets and his jacket slung over his shoulders. "Takemitchy, come play with us."

In the end, Takemichi had no choice but to follow Mikey and Draken out of the classroom. As soon as he spotted his senpais on the floor, his jaw hung open and his eyes widened, as if they had been beaten up by some monsters.

"Um, what exactly am I looking at here?" Takemichi asked Draken, pointing at the third-years on the floor.

"Huh this? They pissed me off, so I hosed them." He replied in a calm tone. "All of you wimps, line up. Lay down on your stomachs."

(Y/N) had been thrown out of the classroom after being mistaken for the person who was giving the quiz answers. She ditched the next class she had and strolled lazily through the stairs, since the third-years room was on the fourth floor and the second-years level was underneath them. She came to a halt on her way to the shoe locker when second-year students blocked the hallway. Her brows wrinkled as she tried to figure out what was going on and why the hell they were blocking the hallway as if a celebrity had just appeared.

"He's friends with Mikey?"

"There's someone that is awesome at our school?"

She heard the second-years say as she approached them.

"Hey, that's Takemichi."

Makoto, who had just come and hadn't noticed the third-year girl, murmured alongside her, "I thought Mikey-kun liked him."

"Crap, he's gonna get killed." Yamagishi said, and then the next thing they knew, Hinata walked towards where Takemichi and the two unfamiliar boys were standing.

She just stood there and watched. Takemichi must have done something to those two because she had no idea who they were. Anyway, she can't jump in and save her cousin's butt, not in front of these people, or she'll be sent to the guidance.... again. And she didn't want that. She'll just ask Takemichi at home.

Takemichi would prefer her to ignore it so she did. She simply walked in, completely oblivious to what was going on until she heard a loud slap. Hinata had just slapped the shoulder-length male in the face, causing everyone in the hallway to gasp.

"Takemichi-kun, let's go. Don't let these people bully you." Hinata grabbed Takemichi's wrist and moved away from the two. "I'll protect you."

(Y/N) was moved by what Hinata had just said.

Takemichi noticed his cousin standing there with her eyes slightly widened, but she instantly returned to her usual expression. He knew she was planning something, and he couldn't help but be concerned about his cousin, who appeared to be ready to beat someone up.

Takemichi and Hinata were abruptly stopped when the tall man with the dragon tattoo on his shaved head grabbed Hinata's arm. When his hand came into contact with Hinata's, she stepped in quickly and yanked the big guy's hand away from her. This caught Mikey and Draken off guard because they weren't expecting such quick movement, and even Takemichi was taken aback.

"Oh crap, Hanagaki-senpai, they're from Toman!" Yamagishi yelled from behind her, but she couldn't hear him since she was too concentrated on the tall man in front of her.

"(Y/N)..." Takemichi was trembling in fear for his cousin, but she didn't appear to know that the person in front of her was a known gang member.

'What am I going to do?' Takemichi panicked in his head.

"Who're you?" Draken asked her. "Don't interfere here." He continued and turned to face Hinata, who was frozen in place, but he was suddenly being dragged by someone shorter than him and of the opposite gender.

"Don't lay your fingers on Hinata or Takemichi. If you do it again, I won't hesitate to break your wrist." She threatened, venom laced in every word she spoke, but Draken seemed unfazed by her threats. He gave her a sly grin. He was about to say something when someone caught the attention of the (h/c) haired girl.

"Hanagaki-chan, are you ditching your training again?" Coach Kobayashi said through the students blocking the hallway.

"Shit," she murmured once she saw her Coach looking at her with his brow raised. "Bye-bye!" she said in a sing-song tone with a peace sign. She dashed out of the school, forgetting to take off her inside shoes.

"Hanagaki-chan!" Coach Kobayashi yelled her name once more, but she had already vanished from their view.

One thing (Y/N) despised was her daily training with Coach Kobayashi of the Karate club. He was a middle-aged man with a muscular body and an average height for a male. He was also harsh, which she despised.

"Why do I need to train anyway? I'm already good." she said to herself, which was actually a half-truth, she just got lazy to train today and wanted nothing but to lie on her bed and watch anime all night.

When she was at the front of the Hanagaki's residence, she suddenly remembered what Yamagashi had said earlier. "Toman? Were they part of a gang?" she shrugged and walked inside, already forgetting what she had done earlier.

Unbeknownst to her, Mikey was currently asking Takemichi about her.

"Ne Takemitchy, who was the other girl earlier?" he wondered aloud from the back of Takemichi's bicycle, which was being ridden by Takemichi.

"That was (Y/N)," Takemichi replied, unsure if he had to tell Mikey of his cousin's name. Knowing how frightening his cousin can be when she's upset.

"Can you bring her with you next time?"
