Chapter 62: Watch Your Jet

Hanns sat in a lone garage above the levels of Mountain Glenn. It had been only a few days after the Battle of Mountain Glenn and surprisingly Hanns had already adapted to much of the changes.

When first he received the army he initiated full panic mode because, at that point, he had incurred a net negative in Silver Lions. It took him 5 minutes to comprehend that he was about to lose 100,000 SL / hr

Hanns immediately went into action and ordered everyone to just keep killing grimm. Though it lowered their loyalty from 50% to 42%. So he decided to justify his actions by talking about killing the same species that threatened both humans and faunus.

That idea seemed to work since their loyalty went back up to 50%.

It was getting difficult to manage the army halfway through for Hanns, multiple times he had to ensure their loyalty and dread rose. To make it a bit more easier on him, he made team WYBRN manage groups of them when needed, though most of the work was done by Blake.

Even though managing them was finished, he still had to equip them somehow... good thing Ruby and Merlot were great substitutes for infantry equipment developers.

He used most of his account to create a small workshop for them to work in while he was trying to keep the army still and assisting in other grimm hunts all over Vale.

Which is why he was nearly tearing his eyes, if he ever had one, out.

"Are you kidding me?! All this efficiency in Grimm hunting and I can't even break even!?" Hanns screamed to himself alone in his garage.

[Hourly Gain - 56,729 SL, 14,428 RP]

[Breakdown: Minerals - 1,720 SL / Grimm Hunts - 55,009 SL, 14,428 RP]

[Hourly Loss - 83,916 SL]

[Breakdown: Army Maintenance - 62,291 SL / Building Maintenance - 13, 981 SL/ Misc. - 7,644 SL]

[Net Hourly Income - (-27, 187) SL, 14,428 RP]

Granted, it only has been a few days but Hanns was incredibly frustrated. A man who games to grind in-game resources didn't like the red numbers being shown on his HUD.

The army was sapping away most of his gained Silver Lions on an hourly basis. Meaning in only 24 hours he was going to lose 652,488 SL if he didn't manage to make up for the loss.

SL = 10,063,728 SL → 7,817,278 SL

VEHICLE RP = 116,282 RP → 817, 726 RP

CONVERTIBLE RP = 1,459,219 RP → 2,172,918 RP

'I guess it's all for the RP, I should've known the moderator wouldn't give me something so powerful. The army is good for, well, being an army, but it costs so much! I don't even want to know what happens when I disband them.'

Of course, the moment Hanns realized the costs it required, the moderator from somewhere in his white room laughed like a madman. He was enjoying Hanns' suffering when trying to desperately find funds for the first few days. It did take a huge hit in his finances but being a gamer he stayed up late organizing the newly formed Wehrmacht.

'I should really get a move on now. Let's see, I can collect my rewards from the other side missions.'

[More than One God?: Use/Obtain/Destroy the 4 Relics (0/4)]

[She's a Witch!: Secret Condition/Secret Condition Salem (0/1)]

[The Wizard named Oz: Capture/Secret Condition Ozma (0/1)]

'These other ones though... do I do these or leave them alone? The RP and SL are amazing I bet.' (Polling here, do you guys just want me to finish RWBY as a story soon? Or let Hanns finish everything. Maybe comment on the missions right before this. P.S. I didn't realize how much it actually costs to unlock everything in War Thunder, truly, Hanns is a madman.)

SL = 7,817,278 SL → 10,817,278 SL

VEHICLE RP = 817,726 RP → 1,117,726 RP

'Right... I've been putting this off for a while now but here we go.'

Hanns started spamming the research and purchase button for multiple aircraft in his tech tree. He followed the Bf-109 line and continued his bomber path in the tech tree. He bought some other aircraft if he didn't reach the 5-vehicle requirement to advance to V Rank.

[Notice: Purchased Bf 109 G-2, Bf 109 G-6, Bf 109 K-4 Fw 190 A-4, Fw 190 A-5/U2, Do 217 E-2, Do 217 K-1, Ju 188 A-2, He 177 A-5]

[Auto Buy Modifications? - 437,100 SL]

'Nope, I'm not gonna spend that much for a rank IV. The jets are where it's at.' Hanns swipes mentally to ignore the message.

SL = 10,817,278 SL → 9,360,278 SL

VEHICLE RP = 1,117,726 RP → 699,726 RP

'The last stretch, finally I can call myself fast.'

Hanns eyed the high-ranking planes he could access. He didn't have any Close Air Support type planes or any other of the other branches of the aviation tree. But that didn't matter.

Because now, he was going to be a jet.

SL = 9,360,278 SL → 7,770,278 RP

VEHICLE RP = 699,726 RP → 139,726 RP

'It's so beautiful.'

[Notice: Purchased Me 262 A-1a, Me 262 C-1a, Me 163 B, Ar 234 B-2, Ar 234 C-3 ]

[Auto Buy Modifications? - 477,000 SL]

'It's not much for a jet modification. Though the next few ones will definitely be expensive as hell. Not to mention finishing this tech tree.' (Hanns will be using the Me 163 B and Ar 234 C-3 as his fighter and bomber respectively.)

SL = 7,770,278 RP → 7,293,278 SL

He was still disturbed by the 6-minute fuel capacity but it made up for it in Hanns' mind when he saw the blistering speeds it could do. Travel would be a joke at this point since if he's out of combat he could travel almost 1000 km/h (621.37 mph for the freedom lovers) without stopping since fuel only gets drained during combat.

Hanns was ready to tango with the SDC and Atlas itself. He already deliberated on what he plans for Atlas and the SDC. 'Time to secure that permanent dust supply.' he thought to himself.

All he just needed to do was to call up what remains of the team that wasn't busy. Namely, Weiss, Yang, Neo and Torchwick. It wasn't much since Blake would be busy managing the Wehrmacht and Ruby was with Merlot in their home base of Mountain Glenn.

~

After a while...

Hanns with his Leopard I stood among four people in the now-occupied garage. With him, at the front, while Torchwick was aside him using his scroll to project a map.

Torchwick decided to handle the debriefing since, unlike Hanns who didn't have limbs, he could detail the map better. "Okay you brats, it's really simple so I'll tell you this once. Ice Queen and Neo will head to the Comms while Blondie and I take out the old man himself. Easy?"

Weiss rolled her eyes. "There's more to it than that. What about our message? How are we going to make Ironwood look bad? There are more steps that we are missing, I'm not entirely confident we could pull this off."

"That's Lunchbox's job. Don't worry your pretty little face Ice Queen, with a lot of their navy here, Ironwood himself needs to come to Atlas' aid once the warning has been sent. As for the CEO, it's easy to just kick him out, nobody likes the old fart unless it's the business people in Atlas. No other questions? Good! Move out brats! It's time to run a business Ice Queen, I'll gladly help with the finances."

"You're not going to get your hand over the SDC's money nor will I even let you in the company, thank you very much." Weiss rejected.

With the sound of everyone leaving to prepare for the task ahead. Hanns stayed behind to think about what he needed to expect and how much time was going to have to fight the entire Atlessian navy.

"Hanns? I need to ask you something."

Weiss looked distraught, with a gloomy look on her face as if she was unsure.

"Ask away."

"It's just, do we really need to eliminate my father? I agree he's a monster and all but I don't think taking a life would make the people of Atlas accept our coup d'état. A slower approach might be better in the long run."

"Weiss, your father has been doing this for most of his time being CEO, we have the Wehrmacht under us, serving to protect the world from the Grimm. Soon enough, Atlas wouldn't ignore such a thing when the world realizes that it was once the White Fang."

"Is there no one else that can take my place instead?"

"You are the heiress, your older sister is still under Ironwood's thumb and Atlas is blind to what atrocities they're doing. The SDC is using blood money to help fund Ironwood's navy, wouldn't you want to change all of that?"

"I do... ever since Blake made me realize that faunus aren't all hooligans. My father... is detestable but Ironwood is just a compassionate patriot, I don't think I can take over his position without a justification for Atlas."

"That's why we show that he's a man willing to sacrifice lives for Atlas. Let the world know of his obsession to 'protecting' the world while simultaneously letting his comrades die for a worthless cause."

"Is he really that kind of person? It's just one attack Hanns. He might change his idea on your kind."

"No, the moment he sees me active, he would want to create the same kind of machine as me to use against Salem. Maybe it's just his distrust over me or his prejudice against the tank race(?)."

"I- I understand... I hope you're right Hanns. Not that I'm doubting you. Excuse me." Weiss leaves in a hurry after her short conversation with Hanns.

Hanns sighs out like a pang of crushing guilt gets placed over the top of him. 'Sorry Weiss, I'm still not sure how Ironwood sees me as at this point. Damn, why do manipulating people have to be so hard? Calm down Hanns, it's for the Dust, used against a great evil. No one is harmed from this...'

~

Right Outside the Garage...

Weiss entered the door connecting to the main armory/research facility where Ruby and Merlot worked in. It was busy the first few days, leading to complete sleep deprivation for them.

Weiss reminded her numbskull of a leader to rest once in a while but Ruby kept shouting something about german science being the best in the world before Ruby flopped down tired from improving the cost-effectiveness of their armor.

It was an odd situation ever since they were introduced to Hanns, like an itch that you couldn't scratch there was something to remind them how to act. It wasn't that bad but Weiss kept hearing her thoughts telling her to have no sense of humor, to be diligent in the steel factories, or drink loads of beer.

Of course, she had ignored the more ludicrous things being put in her head. Though she didn't mind when she suddenly had the impulse to paint something and maybe enter an art school, her thoughts even had a backup plan, to be a politician if being an artist doesn't work.

"Ruby! Stop lying down on your workbench it's filthy!" she shakes the asleep team leader.

"Wuh?! No, I'm not filthy... you are." she lazily blurts out.

"Ruby, we're going to Atlas. Have you gotten any sleep since two days ago? Didn't Hanns tell you to not push yourself?"

The way Weiss questioned her work ethic made Ruby shoot up in complete alertness. "He did, but these babies are not going to finish themselves! I'm still finishing up on the new VTOL designs I thought up of."

"Ruby... just don't go overboard and put in another flamethrower underneath, Hanns told you to make it cheaper to make."

"Oh, I'm not putting in a flamethrower... anymore."

Weiss was suspicious of the wording. "Ruby? What did you do?"

"I'm not putting in a flamethrower... I made it shoot acid this time... and also create an autonomously shooting Gatling gun... okay I may have placed the flamethrower at the front but changed it to shoot nitroglycerin."

"Ruby!"

"I'm sorry! It's just there's something in me telling me to make it as overengineered as possible! I want to add a shield to it, make it have collapsable thrusters and wings to make it smaller when not in use, strap a rocket to it, then I want it to have cloaking tech! I'm sorry Weiss, I can't stop!"

"Ruby, fight the urge. You can take up painting as I did, just relax in designing, please? Hanns doesn't want to use up our stockpile if we could help it."

"Okay... can I add the autonomous Gatling guns though?"

"Ruby..."

"Fine... just a normal troop carrier with a 30mm cannon and machine guns."

'I really hope we could finish this operation smoothly without the help of Blake and Ruby.'

Weiss retrieved her uniform, armor, and weapons before heading out back to where she came from. "See you Ruby." she waved goodbye before shutting the door.

Ruby slumped from her exhaustion, yawning profusely as she began to pick up her tools to redo the designs. 'Hmm? What was that?'

A loud clatter resounded from the room nearby, it was only a janitor's closet. They had it since the workshop did become filthy after a while of people going in and out.

Ruby approached the closet with a wrench in hand, she didn't have Crescent Rose on her since it was in her locker. "Come out with your hands up creepy thing that movies do when they want to add tension!"

She swung open the locker only to see a rock that messed up the various cleaning tools that were stored there.

"Hey, Kiddo."

She recognize that voice, the voice of someone who sounded like they didn't get a single drop of water in over 5 days and supplemented it with hard liquor instead.

"Uncle Qrow?!"

He chuckles as he drops down from the ceiling. He looks around the room and sees the various pieces of equipment made for the Wehrmacht.

"You got a lot of explaining to do," he says as he pulls out a flask and chugs on it.
