'Damn,' Mathew cursed in his thoughts as he brought himself up from the ground.
He initially expected that he managed to avoid getting soiled all over by the monster's insides. Yet, as it turned out, the ground all around him was covered in the monster's blue blood, indicating that his back was in the same state.
"Well, all's good that ends well," the young man muttered, raising his eyes to the slight steam raising from the opened-up corpse of the lobster.
'Back a few days ago, this would be enough to make me throw out,' Mathew thought, staring at the strangely boiling insides indicating not all of the pressure managed to escape during the explosion.
"Is it over?" Carol asked as she stood up from the ground. She ended up in one of the few lucky spots that avoided the splash of the monster's flesh and blood.
The girl stood up, tapped some dirt off her knees before looking around.
I just realized a small fck-up - the chapter that's supposed to be next wasn't uploaded properly. I will likely need to wait until the weekend is over to fix it so I will be sure to make an announcement once its done!
Sorry for the trouble and here's your explanation why the transition might be jarring (and it misses an important bit of character development, soo.....)
