Louise tentatively steps closer to her 'supposed' familiar, feelings of regret stabbing at her from all angles... It was obvious that her explosion had caused his current state, yet, she couldn't help but feel betrayed by whatever higher force was mocking her.
All she needed was a normal familiar, yet it gave her this... Plebian! She could easily tell he was a commoner by the way he dressed, which meant that while she was technically a mage, her power wasn't even enough to summon a regular animal!
She was worried for the boy's survival, but couldn't help but squint her eyes in distaste as she looked at him... If she was going to summon a commoner, she could have at least got a strong one... Not this skinny-looking teenager, who looked as if he was weaker than Louise herself!
The only interesting thing about him was his dirty blonde hair, as most people were either a blonde or brunette, not a mixture of both. She raises one of his eyelids slightly and crooks a brow at his strange eyes, dark blue that fades into green...
Shaking her head and disregarding the other students who were still making a racket about the summoning, Louise kneels closer in an attempt to kiss the boy on her lips. She didn't dare move his head towards her, as she felt she might break his neck if she tried, so she awkwardly twisted in order to get closer to his lips.
"Miss Valliere! Do you have no sense!?" Colbert's voice screams from behind her, causing her to fall over backwards in fright. She looks over and shrinks lightly under her Professor's livid glare.
"Miss Valliere! I know you must be upset from summoning this boy! But that is no reason to try and finish him off!" he angrily chides as the other healers begin carefully levitating the boy to transport him to the Acadamy Hospital.
"I-I, I only wanted to complete the ritual Professor!" she hurriedly replies.
Colbert shakes his head, "Did you not think about what would happen if you completed the ritual in his current state!? He might just die on the spot!..." he pauses and lets out a long sigh, knowing that he couldn't berate a Duke's daughter in public without harsh repercussions, "You may complete the ritual once your familiar isn't on the brink of death miss Valliere. For now, I think everyone should take a break from classes for today... I imagine not everyone is feeling up to continuing their studies after this." he says before going to follow the healers.
"Ah! Professor! Is there anything I can do to help? This is somewhat my fault after all!" she hastily asks the man's retreating back.
Professor shrugs, "Unless you have some high-end medication to give the boy, I doubt anything other than extensive surgery would be able to keep him alive." he states before leaving.
Louise is left there in the courtyard standing alone, looking down at the crater with a sick feeling building in her stomach... If that boy is allowed to die, then she'd probably be expelled from the academy for failing to summon a familiar.
She bites her lip and quickly heads to her room to collect the potion that her mother had left for her to use in especially dire situations... Louise imagined she'd be furious if she knew she'd used it on a commoner, but there wasn't much else she could do...
Just as she goes to leave though, a hand drops onto her shoulder... "Zerbst. I am not in the mood. Let go." Louise growls.
"Ah, Louise... Are you sure you're okay?" Kirche asks, surprising Louise for a moment at the sincerity in her tone.
Louise shakes her head and knocks Kirche's hand away, "Do not touch me again Kirche von Zerbst. This matter does not concern you." she coldly states before leaving.
Kirche watches her leave and releases a sigh, wondering if that boy Louise had summoned would be alright.

The next morning :
Michael groans as his eyes slowly flutter awake... He was pretty out of it, and wondered if he was still dreaming due to the strange ceiling his was staring at... After all, he didn't remember getting his room renovated to look like a medieval castle...
He stays there for a few seconds when memories begin flooding back... Memories of the Space Truck slamming into his building, him, and sending him flying... He grimaces, the pain in those moments was so great that he was afraid they'd come back soon.
"How the fuck did a truck in America get to London anyway?" he mutters before his eyes shoot open, remembering that he'd somehow ended up in Tokyo during his fall, judging by the Japanese writing on the billboards...
He sits up and looks around in confusion at the room. It looked as if he'd been sent back in time, but knew that wasn't the case due ot the strange glowing lights attached to the walls.
There were a few beds lined up against the wall, each with an open curtain that'd presumably protect the dignity of the people cared for here... How did he even get here though?... The last thing he remembered was that familiar-looking Japanese guy and that green orb... But, he'd been falling at terminal velocity, so it should be possible for him to still be alive if that was real.
He'd brought out of his thoughts when the wooden door of the room opens, revealing a tall middle-aged man in blue robes with white accents... He held a large stick with red ribbons tied around the top, probably a staff? Is he a cosplayer?
The man was bald and wore glasses, and had a kind yet restrained smile on his face as he walks towards Michaels bed.
"Ah, you're awake... Please don't be alarmed, I have no intentions to harm you." Colbert says, but Michael just tilts his head to the side, not understanding a single thing the man had said.
Hope you bois liked the chap, if I missed anything please let me know. Thanks!
Also, this will not be following plot... Aside from the first couple of days, the story will diverge considerably, so look forward to how badly I can screw up the original story.

"Sorry, but... What was that?" Michael politely replies, but Colbert easily recognises the problem.
"Hmm. A foreigner? How peculiar... Fortunately, I know the temporary comprehension spell." he mutters to himself before chanting the spell. "Spirits bring forth the gift of the Tristain tongue." he recites while gesturing his staff at Michael.
A light flashes from the tip of the staff, confusing Michael as a *Click!* sounds out in his mind. "W-wow! That's a cool magic trick... Hey, are you one of those hospital clowns?... Wait, wouldn't that mean I'm terminally ill or something!?" he rambles somewhat incoherently to the Professor's ears.
Colbert coughs into his hand to regain Michaels attention, the man sitting on a nearby bed with his staff laid over his knees, "My apologies, I just needed to cast a translation spell so you can understand me..."
"A-A spell!? I-Is this some sort of joke?" Michael accuses, glancing around in search of cameras.
Colbert chuckles and shakes his head, "No, I'm not joking. It seems you've come from somewhere rather remote for you to not recognise the existence of magic... Perhaps far to the east in the unexplored regions? But judging by your looks, I'd say you're from Romania."
Michael shakes his head, "Unexplored regions? Aren't you taking this LARP'ing too seriously? Look, I think I was hit by a truck... Is this even a real hospital?"
Colbert releases a sigh, realising that this young man would be harder to work with than he'd thought. "Forgive me, I haven't yet introduced myself. I am Jean Colbert, I work as Professor here at the Tristan Magical Academy... You know where that is right? In the Kingdom of Tristain?"
...
Michael's reactionary retort is cut off as he recognises the names the man had given... Jean Colbert, an Anime character... Tristan Academy of Magic in the country of Tristain. The main place an anime occurs...
Cold sweat drips down his back and he can't help but check the back of his hands, sighing in relief at the lack of runes. "S-say, I didn't happen to be summoned... Right?"
Colbert has an interested gleam pass his eyes, "Why yes, you were summoned by Miss Valliere, but your condition was far too dangerous to complete the ritual... May I ask how you know of this? You didn't seem to be conscious yesterday." he asks.
Michael's eyes widen as his mouth claps closed, not wanting to mouth off any secrets if he was truly in 'that' kind of situation... "Erm... Just intuition I suppose... My w-Community, tells stories of things like this happening..."
Colbert nods, "Hmm, you'll have to tell me more about these stories when we have time... For now, I still haven't learned your name."
"M-Michael..." he says before slumping against the bedrest, "Sorry, but... Could I be alone for a bit? I need some time to myself." he asks.
Colbert nods and stands, dropping a black book on his bedside while gesturing at a nearby chair, "Your clothes were far too damaged to repair, even with many maintenance spells. As such, the academy had decided to provide you with clothing for the duration of your stay."
"T-thank you." Michael manages to get out as Colbert exits, leaving him alone for now.
Michael slowly climbs out of bed and blushes as he realises that he's naked... He puts on the provided clothes but realises that they're more like 'dignified rags' than anything else... He ignores his annoyance for now and walks towards the nearby window, unable to stop himself gaping as he lays eyes upon the academy.
"Yeah... I definitely ain't dreaming..." he mutters to himself, unable to believe his mind would be able to fabricate something like this.
Tristan Magical Academy was the primer place to learn magic in the continent of Halkeginia. It was more like a fortress than any school Michael knew of, but was impressed regardless.
The academy itself was shaped like a large pentagram, walls covering the edges with large towers on each point. In the centre was a massive tower that was incredibly tall, while also being thick enough to provide rooms to every student.
In between the tower and the walls were luscious flat green gardens, made so students could relax during the times they weren't studying... It was currently the morning, and he could see many students gathered around having tea while spending time with peculiar-looking creatures, which Michael could only infer were their familiars.
"Holy shit, I'm in The Familiar of Zero anime... Fuck!" he exclaims, giving the stone wall a light kick at his bad luck.
His one shot at being reincarnated, and he ends up here? As one of the weakest protagonists ever? Who might be the worst treated protagonist ever? Who's love interest is so abusive that she literally fires explosions at him at random!?
Then, it dawns on him... "I'm so fucked..."
Michael had no idea how he was going to survive this, in the Anime, Saito literally had to face an army of fifty thousand soldiers, while basically being a regular person with some small abilities... Not to mention how Saito managed to survive taking Louse's explosions point-blank to the face... They were capable of destroying stone walls... So that guy must've had ridiculous magical immunity or crazy endurance...
If Michael had truly taken Saito's place, then he had no magic, no backup, and no status... Not to mention that the world literally hinges on Michael's shoulders... From tyrannical rulers to legendary dragons that would supposedly destroy the world...
Saito had only survived because the force 'plot' was with him... In reality, that guy would have died as soon as he faced Fouquet. That bitch was able to summon and control a tower-sized golem that could endlessly regenerate its body...
Add the fact that Michael hadn't watched The Familiar of Zero in years, and you had a recipe for disaster!
"Urrrgh! Why is thissss happening to meeeee...." he mutters while hitting his forehead against the wall.
