Chapter 33: Blood refining
He looked around to see if he could spot a high altitude to see without being obstructed by the trees .
He quickly found a high tree and climbed on it.
"The height of the tree is enough for me to look a kilometer from here without any obstruction" Roan nodded in satisfaction.
"Let's see how the skill Blood eye does" he closed his eyes in concentration.
"I can easily use the skill with the help of system but it will give me more accurate idea of working of skill if I try to use it by myself"
He used the skill according to information gained from skill crystal.
Following the pathway to draw energy, he circulated the energy in his body with his blood.
He abruptly stopped.
"What is this skill?? To use this skill, I have to train my eye with blood and energy"
"This is more like a Sutra than a skill. I have to temper my eyes with blood. The stronger the blood, better the skill." he frowned
"Should I try it with Ten eyes eagle's blood? It's blood should be compatible with the skill." he said
He climbed down from the tree and went to the Ten eyes eagle's body. None of his teammates noticed him.
He sat down near the Ten eyes eagle's body and started training his newly gained skill Blood eye.
"According to skill information, I have to mix my blood with my energy and then slowly nourish my eye according to the technique."
He circulated his energy and mixed it with his blood. After repeating the procedure few times, he nourished his eye from it.
A paining sensation came from his eye. He could not touch the eye externally during the procedure.
He felt as if his eye had been stabbed. It was good that the skill only taught him to train only one eye. If not, he could have gone mad from pain.
He withstood the pain from his eye and kept circulating the mixture of blood and energy.
After ten minutes of nourishing, the mixture finally dissolved in his eye.
"After nourishing my eye with the mixture, I have to use more than a liter of blood."
"I cannot use that much of my blood to train a skill. But if it only needs blood then I can just use the beast's."
"It does not specify that I have to use my blood. Neither does it restrict the use of someone else's blood."
He took out the knife from Ten eyes eagle's body and blood started flowing out of it.
He quickly put the knife on the ground and took the blood in one of his hand.
"What I am doing?? I can use the stone pot from earlier" he slapped his forehead in realization.
He used the stone pot form earlier and stored the blood in it.
While circulating the energy according to the technique, he splashed the blood from pot on his left eye.
He could only train one of his eyes and he chose to train his left eye.
"Soak the eye externally from blood and use it to temper it with energy" he recalled the procedure to train the skill Blood eye.
Soaking the eye with beast's blood made his eye feel a burning pain. It was comparatively twice the pain from when he used his own blood.
He gritted his teeth and continued absorbing the blood in his eyes with the help of his energy.
Five minutes passed and the blood on his left eye was cleared. He absorbed all the blood splashed on his eye.
He again used the blood from the pot to splash it on his left eye and continued absorbing.
After five minutes of absorbing the blood on his left eye was clearly absorbed again.
He paused in between the procedure and used his left eye to see.
He did not feel anything and it felt like it was his normal eye with no changes.
"Is it not supposed to permanently enhance my eye??" Roan frowned
He used his left eye again and tried to activate the skill Blood eye. After concentrating for few seconds, he activated his left eye.
His left eye suddenly felt like a magnifying glass. He was able to see a beast from the beast tide which was more than a kilometer away from him.
"My left eye has significant enhancement but with my right eye opened I cannot concentrate at all."
He closed his right eye and then used his left eye only. He could focus on beast a kilometer away from him and could get minute details.
"Focusing on a beast kilometer away was possible even before the Blood eye skin. But now I'm able to get minute details of beasts."
He did not completely train his eye. He only used a little of total blood to check the results from training his eye.
Seeing the improvement in his eye, he quickly used another splash of blood.
The amount of blood he used was around same as previous but the time it took to absorb it was significantly reduced.
He put more blood on his eye and crazily absorbed it. After seven or eight more splashes of blood, the blood in the pot finally ran dry.
"A liter of blood should be enough for the training of Blood eye." he thought
He circulated his energy one last time. He opened his eyes and felt an indescribable strength in his eyes.
It felt like his eyes possessed power to make others submit. He felt like not only his vision strengthened but he also gained telekinesis like ability.
He could not wait to try out the skill and thus quickly stood up.
He rushed back to the tree he climbed earlier. He quickly climbed up the tree and searched for the horde of beast.
"I wish I could use Blood eye on someone nearby. But there are no beasts here and I cannot use it on Jasper and others." Roan sighed
He quickly looked around with only his left eye open. With the enhanced vision, he could clearly look from a distance of 2km.
"I have nearly double vision of normal E rankers and this is only one of the abilities from the skill blood eye."
"I haven't figured out what the feeling of this strength is. But from what I can feel it must be that restriction ability from before." he guessed
Not wasting anymore time, he quickly found a beast horde near a lake. All the beasts near the lake were probably waiting for something.
"Is it the beasts from earlier? They have all gathered there but none of them is making move."
"Could it be that they are waiting for a high tier beast to command them?" he frowned
"If there really was a beast plant like what Morris said then why would the beasts patiently wait for it."
He did not dwell on what was the motive for beasts to gather and used his new enhanced eye skill.
" Even without activating the skill I can still clearly see the beasts from a kilometer away." Roan rejoiced
"Activation of skill still requires energy, I don't think I can sustain it for more than an hour." Roan analysed
With the activation of his Blood eye, he could see dozens of beasts surrounding the oval lake.
The beasts were all of different sizes. The bigger and stronger ones were very close to the lake whereas the seemingly weaker ones were away.
He noticed a black metallic panther, the beast did not look anything special but it was very away from the lake.
It did not look weak either, it looked as strong as a peak intermediate tier beast near the lake. But it still did not get close the lake like other stronger beasts.
The black panther had metallic body with blue eyes. It did not look like a wild beast at all.
It's eyes glowed blue which gave off the aura claiming that it was a holy beast not some wild beast.
"Should I use inspect on it?? I have already rested enough and there are no beasts nearby anyway."
He used Inspect on the black panther. He could use inspect only when he could see a creature.
With his enhanced vision and Blood eye, he was able to gain minute details of the beast not to say its overall figure to use inspect.
Soon a window popped up, showing the result of inspect

"Black panther? Its overall stats are beatable but I don't dare to say about the skills" Roan said
"Earlier, I thought it would be easy to kill the Ten eyes eagle after breaking through its restrictions but who knew it was only its first skill" he recalled the horror of the beast
"If not for I having energy to kill the beat within the restrictions, none of us would be alive"
He really didn't want to recklessly attack. Now that he didn't even have a option to heal, he grew more cautious.
