More notifications sounded in his head. This was the second instant level up he got within minutes.

Roan's body started recovering, he leveled up just a few seconds ago but then again he damaged his hand.
The amount of energy he put into the punch was unbearable, thus crippling his hand.
He felt energy in his body recover, his body felt no fatigue and his hand healed.
He quickly went to the dead mutant leopard bodies one by one and summoned the crystal when he searched through their tattered bodies.
He did not want anyone to come and search for the crystal that's why he pretended to take out the beast crystals.
'If they are capable of seeing clearly then they must have seen that I took the beast crystal out' Roan thought in relief.
He was in hurry to check his system notification but he wanted to be done with his others tasks first.
He quickly rushed to the nearby cave after he was done with his little act.
He looked inside the cave and found it empty. He sat down at entry of the cave where others could see him.
Earlier, he reached level 8 when he killed the berserk monkey. He only needed two more kill to reach level 10.
Now that he killed two intermediate tier beast in one go, he reached level 10.
He closed his eyes and and then opened his system.

He saw the level 10 in his status but did not react much. His leveling up did not gain him any benefit currently.
He only gained stats points which he hoped to use after he left the hunting space.
He was in no hurry and checked the stats point stacked up to be distributed.
"34" seeing the number made him happier than his leveling up. He expected system to upgrade or unlock new features but it did not.
However, he still looked all over to find if there was any clue.
The only thing he was able to find out was affinity tab was not as detailed as before. He could see a star on affinity.
Clicking on the affinity opened up the elements and their affinities with him.
This was not a very beneficial upgrade. He closed his system and meditated for a while.
The barbaric fight was seen by Roan's teammates. Their bodies felt numb.
They couldn't fathom how Roan was able to withstand the attack of such fast and strong tail with his broken fist.
"Did he really just use his broken fi.. fist to deflect the attack???" Lucas was shocked beyond measures.
Not only he, even Jennie who always stood silent asked the same question as Lucas with a shocked voice.
Jasper and Morris were more calm than them. It felt like they did not find it more surprising than his previous actions.
"He is a person from our generation but he would soon catch up with those high rankers" Jasper stated
"Those high ranker people are also from our generation. It is just that we started training late" Lucas retorted
Earlier when Jasper told them about how he started training only three years ago then Lucas believed him to be his rival.
Because the moment Lucas reaches rank E his training speed would more than double.
To Lucas, only Jasper who grew this powerful in only short span of three years was his true rival.
'I will even surpass those big young masters after reaching E Rank' Lucas thought
"It is not that we are not of the same generation, it is just about effort and our sutras." Morris retorted
"Some people would not even make past their current ranks. Only those who train their bodies can guarantee that they will always grow strong"
"Those people who need to train their abilities by gaining insight might not always be able to reach high ranks in future."
Morris quickly added
When Morris said such words, Lucas felt relieved. He was training in an ancient sutra passed down in his family.
Ancient sutras always paid more focus on the user's body. Even his ability of turning his body into rock or controlling the soil was a sort of body strengthening.
It was not a pure ancient sutra but a mixture of ancient sutra with a rock ability of beast sutra.
Even so, the part of ancient sutra mixed in it gave him enough potential to keep increasing his strength.
Jasper also thought about Morris's words and found it incorrect.
"Body strengthening ability does not need talent, people who can bear the pain and preserve will be able to gain strength but that also means the improvement needs more effort."
"How much can a person train simple mindedly? A time will come when the person will need insight" Jasper said
He was training with a sutra from Williams family. The sutra was not fully energy based.
It was a fire ability which mainly focused on energy training with little focus on strengthening the body.
He had to endure the fire from his ability to slowly strengthen his body.
Once the fire of his ability stopped leveling up then the increase in his physical strength will halt too.
The low level of fire had limits and could not keep strengthening him.
This was the reason he felt that without insight in their abilities their breakthrough would be slow.
"Even if they are strength users they need some understanding of their sutras. They might even die before their strength reach to form a core."
"Only after one forms a core of their abilities then can they train to strengthen their cores without a need for insight."
Jasper opposed what Morris said.
Morris did not respond to Jasper's opinion. None of them further spoke about it, ending the conversation.
By the time they ended their conversation, Roan was already sitting near the entrance of the cave.
His action of taking the beast crystal out and then resting in the cave was noticed by everyone.
They were talking among themselves but still kept observing Roan.
After a few minutes of recuperating, Roan opened his eyes.
'The feeling of getting an upgrade is still there. I can only try to kill an intermediate tier beast again to see if the system upgrades.' Roan said
He looked inside the cave for a while. The cave was not very deep, barely three meters in length.
He did not find anything in the cave. When he saw the mutant leopard and toxic rabbit fighting, he thought maybe one of them was owner here and was protecting a treasure.
He didn't expect a very strong medicinal herb but at least a beast crystal would be here.
There was no such thing in the cave, let alone an intermediate tier beast crystal there was not even a basic tier beast crystal in the cave.
Roan stood up and rushed back to place where Morris and others were hiding.
It was already afternoon of the third day. He did not wish to waste time in exploring the cave.
Morris and others looked at him but did not speak.
Lucas wanted to ask what type of sutra does he train but he hesitated.
He did not feel like it was right to ask such question.
"Let's move from here, I don't think anymore beast is going to arrive." Roan said to everyone while looking at the spot where the dead beast's bodies lay.
Morris glanced at him then glanced at his crystals. Roan noticed him looking at it. He simply threw his two crystals to Morris.
He remembered that Morris wanted to win the ranking very much and only intermediate tier beast crystals could help them win it.
"You can scan them, with this we will become the first team in ranking." Roan said
He was also looking forward to the reward from the academy.
Morris caught the two crystals thrown at him and started scanning.
His watch emitted a blue light and one by one both his crystals were scanned.
He looked at the ranking in group and was happy over the fact that their team was on the top with 7 intermediate tier beast crystals.
Lucas and others also used their watches to see their ranking. They were all very happy with their rank.
Soon, half an hour passed. It was noon and they only had half of their day left to hunt.
Roan was only waiting for others to realise that no beast was going to come here. He suggested them to move out when he came after killing the beasts.
They did not take the matter seriously and believed that more beasts would come. Morris also said to him to recover when he had time.
He could not tell them that he has already recovered so he could only wait for half an hour.
After the long wait of nearly 30 minutes he stood up.
"Let's go, we will only waste our time here. I don't think an area of this small radius would have more than 5 intermediate tier beast." Roan said
He looked at Morris looking for an answer. He already stated it half an hour ago that there might not be any beast left.
Morris was a kind of leader to the team. He expected Morris to make a decision and easily convince others.
Morris looked at others in the team. None of them were opposing the idea of moving out. He then nodded and said " Let's go then."
Everyone nodded and slowly walked out of the hiding place.
They went to the direction they were heading to. They were now deep inside the jungle and the nearby beasts were all dead.
They could only move a few kilometers away from the cave to find new beasts.
They could only see trees of around same size with a distance of a meter or two between them.
They were not able to spot any beast in the jungle.
Suddenly they came close to a basic tier wolf beast. The wolf had two tails. It was a red color wolf with two crimson red tails.
The wolf was rushing to one direction very quickly. It was like the wolf was running for its life being chased by a higher tier beast.
The crimson wolf did not look back and kept running in the same direction.
Morris and others also noticed the wolf and they all quickly hid behind the trees.
They did not talk to each other or discuss any strategy but each of them were ready to attack while hiding sneakily.
A few seconds passed but no beast came from the direction where the wolf was rushing from.
"There is no beast chasing the wolf. It is running on its own toward that direction" Morris said
He was not sure earlier but now that he waited for few seconds, he came to a conclusion.
"What do you mean? If no beast was chasing the wolf then why would it run off so fast?" Lucas asked
"What could be so important to it that it would run this fast without being wary of other beasts in the area?" Jasper asked in low voice.
He was still being careful of any beast hiding nearby.
"The wolf was running very fast without being wary of other beasts because no one would attack it" Morris answered
"Why would no one attack it?" Lucas asked surprised
"Because there is no other beast left in the jungle that would notice the wolf and attack it for invading its area." Roan answered Lucas
"That's right, there are no beasts in the jungle here. All of them are gone."
Morris nodded at Roan's analysis.
Lucas and Jennie were still confused but Jasper quickly understood the matter.
"They are all rushing to the direction the crimson wolf went in" Jasper explained to Lucas and Jennie in the shortest sentence possible.
He looked at Roan and Morris, trying to confirm if what he said was true. Both of them nodded, they came to the same conclusion too.
