“You lost an arm,” I mentioned, nodding at the fragments of muscle and bone hanging from his left shoulder.

He gave it a glance. “I’ll get another one.”

Xander broke up our little tete-a-tete, shoving Cecil aside and getting right in my face. “Tell me you found The Piece!”

“I did,” I answered, twisting about in confusion to point. “It’s right over-“

I was rudely interrupted by a vicious barrage of gunfire that brought large chunks of the ceiling down around us.

“I can’t hold them off forever!” shouted Cassandra as she returned fire.

“We’ve got to get out of here!” announced Xander.

“I quite agree, old friend,” said Cecil. “However, it would appear that Mortician-free egresses are in short supply.”

“Huh?” I was not in the frame of mind to translate Cecil’s verbal vomit.

“We’re trapped,” he simplified.
