Chapter 38: Return to the New Moon City

Meng quickly arrived at New Moon City thanks to The Void Shattering Step, when he returned to his clan, he was quickly greeted with surprised and delighted faces. The disciples immediately spread the news and sent for the elders.

.

.

Meng went to the main hall as he wanted to report his return to the clan master.

"It's been only one month and it looks like you have gained a lot of muscles! Previously, when you first arrived here, I have almost mistaken you for a girl, little Meng, haha!" Tie Zhancang said with a hearty laugh while patting Meng on his shoulder.

"It's been a while, brother Su" Tie Hengjun just arrived and greeted with a calm smile.

"Haha, yeah, I was ashamed of my own appearance too." Meng said with a self-ridiculing laugh before nodding to Hengjun with a smile.

"Eh- Little Meng, I truly didn't mean that!" Tie Zhancang quickly said which caused Meng to only laugh more.

"Anyway, what's the status of your profound strength? Did you make any remarkable progress during these few weeks? IF I remember correctly, you left with the cultivation base of the 7th stage of Elementary Realm...So how much is it? 1 or 2 whole stages?" Tie Zhancang asked while grinning widely.

Meng stopped hiding his profound strength and released it for others to feel.

"This-?! The 2nd stage of Nascent Realm?! Impossible, you are simply a monster, little Meng...What exactly happened to you out there?" Tie Zhancang had to take a while to calm down and even Tie Hengjun was shocked seeing Meng's progress as he still could remember his low cultivation base when he first arrived at their clan.

"There isn't much to tell, just killing and fighting for my survival. I couldn't help but notice that atmosphere around here is kinda tense...did anything significant happened when I was away?" Meng asked with a curious expression.

"Ah...Branch of Xiao Sect happened. They are accusing me of killing one of their elders who left not a long time after you left the city a few weeks ago. Can you believe that baseless accusation? The worst thing is that they are pressuring us by mentioning the main Xiao Sect. We can't really do anything about this so I am trying to stall for the time as long as I can but in the worst case, I will just take the whole blame and have someone replace me in my position." Tie Zhancang said with a helpless smile.

"Well, I kinda understand their accusations, after all, there was indeed one elder from Xiao sect trying to kill me" Meng said with a carefree smile.

"WHAT?!!" Tie Zhancang shouted aloud while clenching his hands in anger.

"No need to be angry, my master left me a few good items that helped me kill that elder, he wasn't that strong." Meng explained.

"I admire the foresight of your master but still, sending an elder to kill youngster! Xiao Sect is truly shameless!"

"Please don't worry clan master. I would also like for the clan master to summon all elders that you trust with all your heart. This matter is of utmost importance, therefore only people truly loyal to the Iron Spear Clan and good heart can be summoned here." Meng requested.

"I guess you still have prepared some surprises for us all, little Meng...Very well, I will do so immediately so we don't waste our time, will my son's presence interfere with whatever little Meng has in plans?"

"Not at all, please look forward to it..." Meng shook his head before he said mysteriously with a faint smile.

.

.

Almost all the elders of the Iron Spear Clan were gathered in the main hall, looking at Meng who was standing at the podium with wide-open eyes as Meng didn't bother hiding his cultivation base. Every single one of them congratulated him with delighted smiles.

"Alright, let's calm down everyone, little Meng has something important to announce." Tie Zhancang said to calm down everyone before his sight transferred to Meng standing on the podium.

"Esteemed elders, clan master, and brother Tie...The time I have spent in Iron Spear Clan was quite short but it was enough to make me want to help this clan grow stronger, much stronger. As everyone is aware that I have a separate master who is not part of the clan, he liked my enthusiasm and resolve to make "such a small clan" stronger when I can easily join one of the four major sects. He gifted me a few things to make this path towards my goal slightly easier." Meng said with a loud and clear voice. When elders heard Meng calling them small clan, they couldn't help but have pained expressions but that changed to eager ones when they heard of Meng's master gifting them something.

"What is it, little Meng? Don't let us wait for too long or some of us might faint from anticipation, haha" Tie Zhancang was also slightly surprised but he still maintained his humorous mood.

"Here!" With a flash of light, Meng took out numerous jade bottles that were divided into groups by the bottle's color.

*Glup* "What are those?" Everyone gulped down the saliva in their mouth before asking in anticipation since even they could feel that it was something big and large, not something their "small clan" could afford.

"One hundred and fifty Elementary Profound Strengthening pills, eighty Nascent Profound Strengthening pills, and 30 True Profound Strengthening pills. Upon taking one of these pills, your body will be filled with a large amount of unrefined profound energy which you can use to come closer to breakthrough or directly breakthrough if you are close enough. The effectiveness of these pills fades with a higher stage of cultivation but it doesn't mean that it will become useless. One probably needs 3 days to refine that profound energy and then he needs to wait at least 7 days before taking another." Meng explained, making everyone's jaws literally drop on the ground while their eyes were popping out of their heads.

"This...Are you sure about its effects? You must be careful not to make everyone excited for nothing, little Meng." Tie Zhancang asked while forcing out a helpless smile as he was looking at everyone shamelessly staring at those jade bottles, not even a little doubting the credibility of Meng's words.

"No need to worry about its effects. I also have one more proposal if everyone is willing to listen to a little me" Meng said with a reassuring smile and everyone quickly started nodding their heads.

Meng was observing everyone from the beginning when he brought out the jade bottles but he didn't notice any negative emotions from anyone. He just felt their desire to start using the pills, most likely to strengthen their disciples.

Meng proposed that all these pills gifted by his "master" should be well hidden and only exceptional disciples should receive them...be it a great talent, hard-working disciples. Then he suggested forming some kind of "guild" inside their clan, where disciples would be able to exchange medicinal herbs and profound beast cores for such pills to aid their cultivation. Although the clan was quite small right now, in the future it might become too big for all elders to all after everyone and observe everyone's talent, progress.

Meng's suggestion was received in quite a positive light as everyone felt that it was an interesting and good idea but still, a few people started questioning how are they going to obtain more pills once they run out which Meng easily solved by saying "the transaction with my master". He explained how his master is an herb gathering fanatic so as long as he receives all kinds of herbs, he will create a new batch of pills.

.

.

.

After the elders left to attend to their duties and start preparations for using the pills, only Tie Zhancang, Tie Hengjun and Men remained inside the main hall.

"Little Meng, if you are so interested in increasing our clan's strength and prestige, there is this big event coming up. Tie Zhancang said with a serious tone.

"Hm? Which event?" Meng narrowed his eyes and asked.

"Blue Wind Ranking Tournament."

"It's a profound tournament of youths between 16 and 20 years old. 500 top sects are invited with each sect allowed to bring 3 contestants. The outcome of the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament decides a sect's level, and if a previously unknown sect has an exceptional performance in the tournament and entered the top one hundred, then it would become famous overnight." Tie Zhancang explained with a serious expression.

"Hmm, Blue Wind Ranking Tournament? That sounds good, how about me and brother Tie take a part in that tournament? And how many months remain before this event officially starts? Two, three months? Meng asked curiously.

"Eh? Brother Su, only the biggest talents all across Blue Wind Empire participate there, my feeble cultivation base won't be enough to compete there..." Tie Hengjun said with a slightly surprised tone which made Meng think carefully about it...If he had only 1 or 2 months, he wouldn't be able to make Hengjun strong enough to compete there with the best.

"You have only less than 9 months of time." Tie Zhancang said with a serious expression and folded arms which shocked Meng as he started staring at Tie Zhancang.

"9 months...? HAHA, so much time to prepare everything...Brother Tie, let us both place in the top 10 participants." Meng laughed aloud before he nonchalantly declared with a carefree smile.

"HUH?!" The duo father and son were staring at Meng in shock without moving an inch.
