Chapter 2: Day of the Moon

Valley of the Gods, Utah…

Three months later - July 1969.

Amy and Kyoko are running for their lives from men in a four wheel drive.

"Suspects directly ahead. Coming to you now. Over." Canton said.

Another vehicle is coming from the opposite direction. They trap Amy and Kyoko by a cliff.

"Canton." Kyoko said.

"Miss Pond. Miss Sakura." Canton said.

"Are those body bags?"

"Yes, they are."

"They're empty." Kyoko said.

"How about that?"

"Do you even know why you're doing this, eh? Can you even remember the warehouse?" Amy asked.

Warehouse memory..

The Doctor is dragging Canton and Jared is dragging Weiss away.

"Canton." The Doctor said.

"Weiss." Jared said, looking down at Weiss.

"Amy. Amy!"

"Ruby. Ruby!"

Jared is fixated on Ruby who is as shocked as Amy.

"What is that…" Ruby said, sadly.

"River, Blake, Yang, come on!" Rory said.

"Run!" Blake said.

"What the hell's going on?" Canton asked.

"Look behind you." Yang said, staring at the Silence.

"There's nothing behind me." Canton said.

"Look. Look. Canton, look, I tell you." The Doctor said.

Canton turns around.

"Canton." The Silence said.

Canton shoots Amy and Kyoko in Utah. Both of the redheads have tally marks on their arms.

Area 51, Nevada...

The Doctor and Jared are in strait-jackets, shackled to a chair with a yellow circle around it. They are surrounded by guards and notices saying Do Not Approach The Prisoner and Do Not Interact With The Prisoners, and the both of them have grown beards.

"All visitors to remain behind the yellow line. All visitors to remain behind the yellow line." Someone on the speaker said.

"We found Amy Pond and Kyoko Sakura. She had strange markings on her arm. Do you know what they are?" Canton asked.

"Maybe I do. Maybe I don't." Jared said, smirking.

"Why don't you ask them?" The Doctor asked.

New York…

River and Homura have tally marks on her arms, too. River is wearing an evening dress while Homura is in her Magical Girl outfit and the two are running through a skyscraper under construction.

"I see you. I see you." River said, tallying two more Silence on her arm.

"There's, um, a lot of them." Homura said, also tallying two more Silence on her arm.

"Doctor Song? Homura Akemi? Doctor Song? Homura Akemi? Go! Go! Go!" Canton said.

They catch up with Homura and River at an open wall.

"Don't move! It's over." Canton said.

"They're, they're here, Canton. They're everywhere. The Silence." Homura said, looking at Canton.

"I know. America's being invaded." Canton said.

"You were invaded a long time ago. America is occupied." River said, angrily.

"You're coming with us, Doctor Song, Homura Akemi. There's no way out this time."

"There's always a way out. Let's go, Homura, dear."

"Right." Homura said, frowning.

River gently and Homura fall backwards out of the skyscraper.

Area 51…

A wall is being constructed around the Doctor and Jared.

"We found Doctor Song and Homura Akemi." Canton said.

"These bricks, what are they made of? Where are they?" Jared asked, looking down at the bricks. "Where's Homura Akemi and River Song?"

"They ran. Off the fiftieth floor."

"Where? What city?"

"Your city, Jared. New York."

"These bricks. I'd say zero balance dwarf star alloy. The densest material in the universe." The Doctor said.

"Well, nothing can get through that, Spaceman. Not even Magical Girls. The power of song won't work either." Jared said, sadly. "You're building us the perfect prison, Canton. But it won't be enough to stop us."

Glen Canyon Dam - Arizona…

A very dishevelled Rory and Mami with lots of tally marks on their skin run out onto the top of the dam, only to find lots of men with guns waiting for him, and it's a long way down.

"Oh." Mami said, in her Magical Girl outfit. "This is the end. After all."

"What are you waiting for?" Rory asked.

"I'm waiting for the both of you to run. It'd look better if I shot you two while you're running. Then again, looks aren't everything." Canton said, shooting Rory and Mami.

Cell…

Body bags are dragged in to the completed dwarf star alloy cell.

"Why are you doing this, Canton? Is there a reason?" Jared asked.

"I want the both of you to know where you stand." Canton said.

"In a cell." The Doctor said.

"In the perfect cell. Nothing can penetrate these walls. Not a sound, not a radio wave, not the tiniest particle of anything." Canton said, closing the door when the soldiers leave. It vanishes. There is a palm print panel near where it should be. "In here, you're literally cut off from the rest of the universe. So I guess they can't hear us, right?"

"Nice work, Canton. I may be a bit older now due to waiting around. Madoka and Sayaka are protecting Mitakihara City and Kazamino City. Now, is the door sealed?" Jared asked.

"You bet." Canton said, smirking.

The Doctor and Jared shake off their shackles and strait-jackets. The body bags sit up, gasping for breath.

"Are you okay?" The Doctor asked.

"Finally." Amy said, annoyed.

"These things could really do with air holes." Rory said.

"Three months." Kyoko said, looking around.

"It was a long time." Mami said, frowning. "Jared, you trust us then?"

"When don't I?" Jared asked.

"But body bags?" Kyoko asked. "We had to conserve our goddamn magic on our way here."

"We did." Mami said. "Just to stay afloat."

"Never had a complaint before." Canton said.

"Isn't it going to look odd that you're staying in here with us?" Amy asked, looking at Canton.

"Odd, but not alarming. They know there's no way out of this place."

"Exactly. Whatever they might think we're doing in here, they know we're not going anywhere." The Doctor said, slumping to his right, and leans against the Tardis.

Jared snaps his fingers to open the door, "Shall we save the world? With justice and light?"

"What about Doctor Song and Homura Akemi?" Canton asked.

Tardis…

"They dove off a rooftop." Canton said.

"Don't worry. River does that! And Homura started doing it." Jared said, laughing a lot.

"Amy, Rory, Mami, Kyoko, open all the doors to the swimming pool." The Doctor said.

River and Homura turns into a dive, and plummets through the Tardis' open door where it is parked on the side of the skyscraper.

"Um, that was a lot of running." Homura said, her hair not braided yet.

There is a big Splosh!

"So, we know they're everywhere. Not just a landing party, an occupying force, and they've been here a very, very long time. But nobody knows that, because no one can remember them." The Doctor said.

"The hell are they up to?" Kyoko asked. "The Silence?"

"No idea. But the good news is, we've got a secret weapon." The Doctor said.

Kennedy Space Centre…

"Um…" Homura said, staring at the rocket. "What?"

A Saturn V rocket is on the launch pad nearby.

"I don't get it. Apollo 11's your secret weapon?" Mami asked.

"I don't think it's Apollo 11. It would be hella stupid." Kyoko said, scoffing.

"Yup. It would be." Jared said, grabbing Kyoko's hand. "We're relying on Neil Armstrong's foot for this. Girls, ready to go home? Thanks for your hard work. Don't worry, we'll take care of the Silence."

Jared opened up two separate portals using his hands, one for Team RWBY to step out of. And the other for Homura, Mami, and Kyoko to step into. Both portals closed.

(Jared's POV)

Car...

It is a dark and stormy night when a car drives up to the Graystark Hall Orphanage.

"In just a few days, mankind will set foot on the Moon for the first time. Today, the President reaffirmed America's commitment…" Someone on the radio said.

"Ready. Check." Canton said.

I'm in the back of the car with Blake and Yang. Amy, Blake, Yang, and I look at our palms. No tally marks.

"Clear." Amy said.

"Clear." Blake said.

"Clear." Yang said.

"Clear." I said, smiling.

Canton looks at his palm, "Clear."

Tardis…

Earlier, the Doctor has injected something into Canton's palm.

"Ow!" Canton said, angrily.

"Okay, so it has been three months." Weiss said, looking down at her Scroll. "The Puella Magi Holy Quintet wore some Augma as they were running around the country. They defeated some Witches on the side to stay afloat due to their immortality."

"And Yui, the AI daughter of Kirito and Asuna's, recorded the footage for us to look back at. While we were in Mistral." Blake said, frowning. "Can't remember anything though."

"What have we found out since then?" Yang asked.

"It didn't look to be that much." Ruby said.

"Well, they are everywhere. Every state in America." Rory said.

"Oh, it is a lot then."

"Ahh." Rory said, getting his injection.

"It's not just the United States. It's the whole world." I said, leaning against the TARDIS console. "It's as big as the concentration of Magical Girls, Witches, and Incubators."

"There's a greater concentration here, though. For the Silence." River said. "And Magical Girls are more prominent in Japan."

"Ow!" Amy said.

"Are you okay?" I asked, looking at Amy.

"All better."

"Better?" The Doctor asked.

"Turns out I was wrong. I'm not pregnant." Amy said.

"What's up?" Rory asked.

"Nothing. Really, nothing. Seriously."

"So you've seen them, but you don't remember them." Canton said.

"You've seen them, too. That night at the warehouse, remember?" Yang asked.

"While you were pretending to hunt me, Amy, Rory, Mami, Kyoko, and Homura down, we saw hundreds of those things." River said. "We still don't know what they look like."

"It's like they edit themselves out of your memory as soon as you look away. The exact second you're not looking at them, you can't remember anything." Rory said.

"Sometimes you feel a bit sick, though, but not always." Amy said.

"So that's why you marked your skin." Canton said.

"Only way we'd know if we'd had an encounter."

"How long have they been here?" Ruby asked.

"That's what we've spent the last three months trying to find out. Even with Magical Girls by our side, we still couldn't remember." Amy said.

"Not easy, if you can't remember anything you discover." Rory said.

"How long do you think?" Canton asked.

"As long as there's been something in the corner of your eye, or creaking in your house, or breathing under your bed, or voices through a wall. They've been running your lives for a very long time now, as long as the Incubators, so keep this straight in your head. We are not fighting an alien invasion, we're leading a revolution. And today, the battle begins." The Doctor said.

"How?" Canton asked.

"Like this." The Doctor said, and he quickly injects River.

"Ow!" River said, angrily.

"Now, time to do Team RWBY and Jared…"

"Already got ours…" Yang said.

"How?" The Doctor asked.

"Inside the four envelopes. Jared left something for us to inject ourselves with." Weiss said, crossing her arms. "Didn't know what or why. Now we know."

"We just happened to do it while we were in Mistral." Blake said. "There were instructions to do the injections before we entered the TARDIS again."

"Oh…" The Doctor said, laughing a little. "Of course Jared would do that. Nanorecorder. Fuses with the cartilage in your hand."

"I had to." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "I care about Team RWBY so much, okay? But to have them do it ahead of time? I guess it was so they wouldn't lose their train of thought."

"What does it do?" Ruby asked, when the Doctor injects himself.

"Ow. And it tunes itself directly to the speech centres in your brain. It'll pick up your voice, no matter what. Telepathic connection. It's on the same telepathic connection as the one between Magical Girls and the Incubators. So, the moment you see one of the creatures, you activate it, and describe aloud exactly what you're seeing." The Doctor said.

"And describe aloud exactly what you're seeing." The Doctor said, his voice nearby.

"Because the moment you break contact, you're going to forget it happened. The light will flash if you've left yourself a message. You keep checking your hand if you've had an encounter. That's the first you'll know about it." The Doctor said.

"Why didn't you tell me this before we started?" Canton asked.

"I did, but even information about these creatures erases itself over time. I couldn't refresh it because I couldn't talk to you."

Canton looks away then turns back and adjusts the Doctor's bow tie, "What? What are you staring at?"

"Look at your hand." I said, leaning against the TARDIS console.

A little dot is flashing.

"Why is it doing that?" Canton asked.

"What does it mean if the light's flashing? What did I just tell you?" The Doctor asked.

"I haven't…"

"Play it."

"My God, how did it get in here?" Canton asked, his voice nearby.

"Keep eye contact with the creature and, when I say, turn back, and when you do, straighten my bow tie." The Doctor said, his voice nearby.

"What? What are you staring at?"

"Look at your hand." I said, my voice nearby.

One of the aliens is standing there.

"It's a hologram, extrapolated from the photo on Amy's phone. Take a good, long look." The Doctor said, turning off the image. "You just saw an image of one of the creatures we're fighting. Describe it to me."

"I can't." Canton said.

"No. Neither can I." The Doctor said, looking at me. "Can you?"

"No. I can't. But I should be able to. Like, I've watched this adventure hundreds of times! Why can't I describe them. Or remember what they look like?" I asked, clutching my head in pain.

"It's okay." Ruby said, walking up to me to comfort me. "Don't stress yourself over it."

"Canton, you straightened my bow tie because I planted the idea in your head while you were looking at the creature." The Doctor said.

"So they could do that to people. You could be doing stuff and not really knowing why you're doing it." Weiss said, crossing her arms. "Basically like what Magical Girls have to do. Similar to what they encounter now and again. Witch's Kiss."

"Like posthypnotic suggestion." Rory said.

"Ruling the world with posthypnotic suggestion?" Amy asked.

"Now then, a little girl in a spacesuit. They got the suit from NASA, but where did they get the girl?" The Doctor asked.

"It could be anywhere." Yang said, her hand on her hip.

"Except they'd probably stay close to that warehouse, because why bother doing anything else? And they'd take her from somewhere that would cause the least amount of attention. But Canton, Amy, Blake, Yang, and Jared have to find her. Ruby, Weiss, and I are off to NASA." The Doctor said.

"Find her? Where do we look?" Canton asked.

"Children's homes."

Greystark Hall Orphanage…

"Hello?" Renfrew asked.

"FBI. You must be Doctor Renfrew. Can we come in?" Canton asked, holding out his badge.

"The children are asleep."

"We'll be very quiet." Yang said.

"Is there a problem?" Renfrew asked.

"It's about a missing child." Blake said.

"What are you. Yes, come in, please. This way. Please excuse the writing. It keeps happening. I try to clean it up." Renfrew said.

On the wall up the staircase are the words Get Out Leave Now in large red letters.

"I don't like this." I said, grabbing Amy's hand. "I really don't."

"It's okay. You don't have to be scared anymore." Amy said, looking at the writing. "It's the kids, yeah? They did that."

"Yes, the children. It must be, yes. Anyway, my office is this way." Renfrew said.

"We nearly didn't come to this place. I understood Graystark Hall was closed in 67." Canton said.

"That's the plan, yes."

"The plan?" Blake asked.

"Not long now."

"It's 1969." Yang said, sadly.

"No, no. We close in 67. That's the plan, yes." Renfrew said.

"You misunderstood Yang. It's 1969 now." I said, looking at Renfrew. "Being alone in one place. You lost track of time."

"Why are you saying that? Of course it isn't."

"July 1969. Close to the day of the moon landing."

"My office is this way. This way." Renfrew said.

"Jared and I will check upstairs." Amy said.

"Be careful." Canton said.

"Call us if you need us." Yang said.

The first dormitory is derelict and deserted, with the walls graffitied with Leave Me Alone and Get Out Now.

"We will." I said, squeezing Amy's hand,

(Open POV)

Apollo 11…

"Amy. Jared." The Doctor said.

Dormitory…

"We found the place she was taken from." Jared said, holding his phone.

Apollo 11…

"How do you know?" The Doctor asked.

"The Silence was here. And the whole place is deserted." Jared said, his voice over the phone.

Dormitory…

"There's just one guy here and I think he's lost it." Amy said.

Apollo 11…

"Repeated memory wipes fry your head eventually. Find out what you can, but don't hang around." The Doctor said.

Dormitory…

"Where are you?" Amy asked.

Apollo 11…

"Got to go. Got company." The Doctor said, closing the panel he has been working on. "Don't worry, I've put everything back the way I found it. Except this. There's always a bit left over, isn't there?"

"I don't think they bought your lie." Weiss said.

The scientists are not amused.

"At least we know it's working." Ruby said, while the Doctor's gizmo quietly beeps to itself inside the module.

Dormitory…

The door slams shut behind Amy and Jared.

Jared takes out his pendant and tries to summon by doing the activation code, but he can't, "What the?!"

"Why isn't Aqours working?" Amy asked, and she tries to open the door.

"I don't know." Jared said, and he sees the blinking light in Amy's palm.

"We can see them, but we think they're asleep. Jared's transformation won't work. And he can't summon any weapons. Something must be blocking that signal. Get out. Just get out!" Amy said, her voice nearby.

"Crap." Jared said, and he tries the windows then sees the tally marks on his hands. "Why is my memory so bad for this adventure?"

"You didn't think of planning ahead?" Amy asked, and then the lightning shows her reflection in the glass. "For this."

"I did!" Jared said, angrily. "Or I thought I did."

There are tally marks on Amy and Jared's faces, too. The aliens are hanging from the ceiling in a cluster, like bats.

"Shit." Jared said, grabbing Amy's hand.

Amy bumps into Jared and he fell onto a bucket and they start to wake. Then the door opens and they forget it all.

Lecture hall..

Diagrams of the command module and the lander on the blackboards.

"Now, one more time, sir. How the hell did you and your friends get into the command module?" Gardner asked.

"I told you. We're on a top secret mission for the President." The Doctor said.

"Well, maybe if you just get President Nixon to assure us of that, sir, that would be swell."

"The Doctor sent him a message." Weiss said, looking at the scientists.

The President enters, with River and Rory.

"How much trouble do you think Jared has gotten himself into?" Weiss asked.

"From a scale of one to ten?" Ruby asked.

"Yes."

"An eight."

"Eight? Oh, he deserves a lecture later."

"What about me?" Ruby asked.

"What about you? Do I get one?"

"Well, no. I have a bit of a respect for you, Ruby Rose."

"You mean you like me."

"As a friend. Well, family."

"A healthy American will do just nicely. Now, fellows, listen. This people, here, code names the Doctor, The Hood, and Elsa are doing some work for me personally. Could you cut them a little slack?" Nixon asked.

"Er, Mister President, they did break in to Apollo 11." Gardner said.

"Sorry." Ruby said, silently.

"Well, I'm sure they had a very good reason for that. But I need you to release them now so they can get on with some very important work for the American people. Could you do that for me?" Nixon asked.

"Well…" Grant said.

"Son, I am your Commander in Chief."

"Then I guess that would be fine, Mister President." Gardner said.

"Glad to hear it." Nixon said.

"Gah! I hate handcuffs." Ruby said, annoyed.

"It's okay." Weiss said, sadly.

The MP releases the Doctor, Ruby, and Weiss.

"Thank you. Bye, bye." The Doctor said.

"Carry on, gentlemen." Nixon said.

Rory has been examining a model of Eagle.

Rory breaks it, "Ahem. America salutes you."

Renfrew's office…

"This place, it's been closed for years. What have you been doing?" Yang asked.

Yang stands next to Blake and Canton.

"Oh, the child. She must be cared for. It's important. That's what they said." Renfrew said.

"That's what who said?" Canton asked.

Attic corridor…

There is a metal door with a small hatch in it. A woman wearing an eye patch looks out at Amy and Jared.

"Hello. Who are you?" Jared asked.

The woman turns away and speaks to someone else.

"No, I think they're just dreaming." The eye patch lady said, as the cover of the window slides shut.

Amy goes to the door and opens it, "Jared, you've been out of it as much as me."

"Yeah." Jared said, noticing that it is a cozy child's room. "Don't know why though."

"Hello? We saw you looking through the hatch." Amy said.

Except there isn't one any more.

Bedroom…

There are a lot of photographs on the chest of drawers, including one of Amy.

"Amy and Melody…" Jared said, clutching his head in pain. "How? How do I know that?"

"How? How can that be me?" Amy asked, and she is pictured holding a baby. "Do you know?"

"I, um, I don't know. It's like my memories are blocked for some reason."

One of the astronauts enters.

"Who are you? We don't understand, so just tell us who you are." Amy said, while the astronaut raises its gold visor. It is the little girl. There is a crack in the helmet. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shoot you. I'm glad I missed. But you and your friend killed the Doctor and Jared. Or you're going to kill them. But who are you? Just please tell us, because we don't understand."

"Please help me. Help me. Please. " The girl said.

Two aliens enter. Amy and Jared scream.

Renfrew's office…

Someone knocks on the door.

Renfrew answers it, "It's just some questions. Yes, I see."

"Who was that? Doctor Renfrew. Who was that?" Canton asked.

"Who was who?" Renfrew asked.

"One of those aliens." Blake said.

An alien enters.

Canton activates his recorder while Blake and Yang did the same with their recorders.

"What are you? You can tell us, because we won't remember. You invaded us. You're everywhere." Canton said.

"Help us! Please. We can't see. Somebody, help us." Amy said, nearby.

"Are you armed?" Yang asked.

"This world is ours. We have ruled it before the Incubators and since the wheel and the fire. We have no need of weapons." The Silence said.

"Yeah?" Canton asked, shooting the alien. "Welcome to America. Amy! Jared!"

Oval Office…

The Doctor has returned Nixon to Washington in the Tardis, "You have to tape everything that happens in this office. Every word, or you won't know if you're under the influence."

"Doctor, you have to give me more than this. What were you, The Hood, and Elsa doing to Apollo 11?" Nixon asked.

"Thing. A clever thing. Now, no more questions. You have to trust me and nobody else." The Doctor said.

River pops out of the Tardis with the telephone, "Doctor, it's Canton, Blake, and Yang. Quick, they need us."

Attic corridor…

"Help me. Please, I can't. I can't see. Somebody help me." Amy said, nearby.

"I don't know where I am. Please, help me." Jared said, nearby. "I don't know where I am. I don't know where I am. I'm scared!"

Canton, Blake, and Yang find the bedroom door. It is locked.

"Amy! Jared! Can you hear me? I'm gonna try and punch my way through this." Yang said, her hand in front of the door. "I need you both to stand back."

"Okay, no punching. I've got it." The Doctor said.

"Amy, Jared, we're here. Are you okay?" Rory asked.

"I can't see." Amy said, her voice nearby.

"Where am I?" Jared asked, her voice nearby.

They rush into the room. The little girl is hiding along the corridor.

Bedroom…

"Where are they, Doctor?" Weiss asked.

The spacesuit is lying on the floor.

"It's empty." Blake said.

"It's dark. So dark. I don't know where I am. Please, can anybody hear me?" Amy asked, her voice nearby.

Amy and Jared's nanorecorders are on the floor, flashing.

"Where am I? It's so dark here. This isn't Beacon or Haven. Or ALO…" Jared said, his voice nearby.

"They took these out of them." Ruby said, picking up Jared's nano recorder. "How did they do that?"

"Why can I still hear Amy? And why can Team RWBY still hear Jared?" Rory asked.

"Is it a recording?" Yang asked.

"Er, it defaults to live. This is current. Wherever they are right now, this is what they're saying." The Doctor said.

"Amy, can you hear me? We're coming for you. Wherever you are, we're coming, I swear." Rory said, talking to Amy's nano recorder.

"Jared, don't worry. We're gonna save you. We'll help you. Don't worry." Ruby said, talking to Jared's nano recorder.

"They can't hear either of you. I'm so sorry. It's one way." The Doctor said.

"She can always hear me, Doctor. Always. Wherever she is, and she always knows that I am coming for her. Do you understand me? Always." Rory said.

"And Jared can always hear us." Weiss said, walking up to the Doctor. "We're his friends. Family. He loves us. He missed us."

"Doctor, are you out there? Can you hear me? Doctor? Oh, God. Please, please, Doctor, just get me out of this." Amy said, her voice nearby.

"Doctor, if you're there. Please save me! Bring Team RWBY home if you have to. I have to get out of here." Jared said, his voice nearby.

"He's coming. I'll bring him, I swear." Rory said.

"Us too." Blake said. "And we're not going home without you."

"Hello? Is somebody there? I think someone has been shot. I think we should help. We c...I can't re...I can't remember." Renfrew said.

Renfrew's office…

The Silence is still alive.

"Okay. Who and what are you?" The Doctor asked.

"Silence, Doctor. We are the Silence." The Silence said.

"What's the Silence?" Ruby asked.

"Jared talked about it once." Weiss said. "When we were at Mistral."

"Right after we reunited." Blake said.

"Yeah." Yang said, her hand on her hip.

"So, that's what they are." Ruby said, her eyes widening.

"And Silence will fall." The Silence said.

Area 51…

The cell door opens and the soldiers ready their weapons.

"Hello again." Canton said.

"Sir, you've been in there for days. What the hell have you been doing?" Ishem asked.

"It doesn't matter. I need Doctor Shepherd here right now."

"Sir, I need to talk to Colonel Jefferson right now."

"No, you really don't."

Because their Commander in Chief walks out of the cell.

"Er, hiya, fellows. I'm President Nixon. I want to tell you, on behalf of the American people, how much we appreciate all of your hard work." Nixon said.

"The target for the Apollo 11 astronauts, the Moon, at liftoff, will be at a distance of 218,096 miles away. We're just past the two minute mark in the countdown. T minus one minute fifty four seconds and counting." Someone on TV said.

Warehouse…

They are examining the spacesuit with the alien's own technology.

"It's an exoskeleton. Basically, life support. There's about twenty different kinds of alien tech in here." River said.

"Who was she? Why put her in here?" Weiss asked.

"You put this on, you don't even need to eat. The suit processes sunlight directly. It's got built in weaponry, and a communications system that can hack into anything."

"Does it include the telephone network?" Yang asked.

"Easily." River said.

"But why phone the President?" Ruby asked.

"It defaults to the highest authority it can find. The little girl gets frightened, the most powerful man on Earth gets a phone call. The night terrors with a hotline to the White House." River said, while the Doctor licks his invitation envelope. "You won't learn anything from that envelope, you know."

"Purchased on earth. Perfectly ordinary stationery. Tardis blue. Summoned by a stranger who won't even show his face. That's a first, for me. How about you?" The Doctor asked.

"Our lives are back to front. Your future and Jared's future is my past. Both of your firsts are my lasts."

"That's not really what I asked."

"Ask something else, then. Don't ask, let one of Team RWBY ask."

"Why use a child? Why raise her?" Ruby asked. "What's the Silence doing?"

"Keeping her safe, even giving her independence." River said.

"The only way to save Amy and Jared is to work out what the Silence are doing." Blake said.

"I know." Rory said.

"The more we learn about them. That only brings us one step closer in figuring it out." Weiss said.

"Yeah, Team RWBY, I get it. I know."

"Of course, it's possible she's not just any little girl." The Doctor said.

"Well, I'd say she's human, going by the life support software." River said.

"But?"

"She climbed out of this suit. Like she forced her way out. She must be incredibly strong. Like a Magical Girl."

"Incredibly strong and running away. I like her."

"We should be trying to find her." Yang said.

"Yes, I know. But how? Anyway, I have the strangest feeling she's going to find us." The Doctor said.

"Apollo 11, this is Houston. How do you read? Over." Someone on TV said.

"Why does it look like a NASA spacesuit?" Rory asked.

"Because that's what the Silence do. They do it the same way as the Incubators. Think about it. They don't make anything themselves. They don't have to. They get other life forms to do it for them." The Doctor said.

"So they're parasites, then." River said.

"Superparasites, standing in the shadows of human history since the very beginning. We know they can influence human behaviour any way they want. Like the Incubators. If they've been doing that on a global scale for thousands of years."

"Then what?" Rory asked.

"Then why did the human race suddenly decide to go to the Moon?" The Doctor asked.

"Ten, nine. Ignition sequence start. six, five, four…" Someone on TV said.

"Because the Silence needed a spacesuit."

"One, zero. All engines running. Liftoff. We have a liftoff. Thirty two minutes past the hour, liftoff on Apollo 11."

Cell…

"My God. What is it?" Shepherd asked.

"It's just an alien, Doctor Shepherd." Canton said.

"Someone's already been treating it."

"Yeah, you've been treating it."

"Does Colonel Jefferson know this thing is here?"

"No."

"Then I'm going to tell him right now." Shepherd said.

"Again." Canton said.

"Sorry, what?"

"Exactly."

"Sergeant, why was I called in here for no reason?" Shepherd asked, leaving.

"You tend to my wounds. You are foolish." The Silence said.

Canton uses a mobile phone to video record the conversation, "Why? What would you do in my place?"

"We have ruled your lives since your lives began. Like the Incubators and the Life Fibers. You should kill us all on sight, but you will never remember we were even here. You will evolve. The Silence, the Life Fibers, and the Incubators go hand in hand with humanity." The Silence said.

"Yeah? Well, sorry to disappoint you, but thanks. That's exactly what I needed to hear. This is a videophone. Whatever a videophone is." Canton said.

Warehouse…

The video file arrives on River's tricorder.

"You should kill us all on sight." The Silence said, on screen.

"Help me, Doctor." Amy said, her voice nearby.

"Doctor, help me." Jared said, his voice nearby.

The spacesuit glove twitches.

"This suit, it seems to be repairing itself. How's it doing that? Doctor, a unit like this, would it ever be able to move without an occupant?" River asked.

"Why?" Ruby asked.

"Well, the little girl said the spaceman was coming to eat her. Maybe that's exactly what happened."

"I love you. I know you think it's him. I know you think it ought to be him, but it's not. It's you. And when I see you again, I'm going to tell you properly, just to see your stupid face. My life was so boring before you just dropped out of the sky. So just get your stupid face where I can see it, okay? Okay?" Amy asked, her voice nearby.

"I love you, Team RWBY. You girls have been there for me. For like forever. I love Symphogear too, but not as much as you four. When I see you girls again, we have to get to Atlas. Somehow. Delivering that Relic. The Relic of Knowledge. My life was so boring before I met you, Team RWBY. So, get over here where I can see it, okay? Don't keep me waiting. I won't like it if you do. You're like family to me." Jared said, his voice nearby.

"They'll be safe for now. No point in dead hostages." The Doctor said.

"Can't you save Amy and Jared?" Ruby asked.

"I can track that signal back. Take us right to them."

"Then why haven't you?" Rory asked.

"Because then what? I find them and then what do I do? This isn't an alien invasion. They live here. This is their empire. This is kicking the Romans out of Rome." The Doctor said.

"Rome fell."

"So, Jared sees us as family now." Blake said, holding her Gambol Shroud.

"Really?" Ruby asked. "I, uh, didn't notice."

"What's wrong with him?" Yang asked. "He hasn't used Aqours once."

"Aqours? That thing that lets him summon weapons?" Weiss asked.

"Yeah."

"It is rather odd."

"What do you think caused it?" Blake asked.

"I don't know." Ruby said. "It could be them."

"Really? The aliens we're facing." Yang said, crossing her arms. "Be real, Ruby. It can't be them."

"It has to be. Ugh!"

"Please, please, just come and get me. Come and get me." Amy said, her voice nearby.

"Hurry up. Damn it." Jared said, his voice nearby. "I think Amy is here somewhere. I can feel it."

"The Flight Controller's going to go for landing. Just five days since Apollo 11 blasted off from Cape Kennedy, this unprecedented journey is reaching its crucial moment. Armstrong and Aldrin are making their descent to the surface of the Moon." Someone said, on TV.

"We copy you on the ground. You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue." The Duke said, nearby.

(Jared's POV)

Spaceship…

Oh look, it's that set again.

"Where are we? Where is this?" Amy asked.

"Oh, this is very Aickman Road. I think." I said, getting another headache. "Ugh! Why does it hurt whenever I think?"

.Amy and I are fastened with alien tech.

"You are Amelia Pond and Jared Shay." The Silence said.

"You're ugly. Has anyone mentioned that to you?" Amy asked.

"We do you honour, Amelia. You will bring the Silence. But your part will soon be over. While Jared, your part is just beginning."

"Whatever that means, you've made a big mistake, bringing us here, because wait until you see what's coming for you now." Amy said.

"Just you wait until the Doctor and Team RWBY gets here." I said, trying to break free. "Because they have been here for a while."

"You have been here many days." The Silence said.

"No, we just got here. You just put us in here."

"Both of your memories are weak. You have been here many days."

"No. No, we can't have been." Amy said.

"You will sleep now. Sleep."

"No." I said, sadly.

"Sleep." The Silence said.

"No. Get off me. And get off Jared. No. No." Amy said.

"Sleep."

"No!"

"Finally!" I said, excitedly.

The Tardis materialises.

"Oh, interesting. Very Aickman Road. I've seen one of these before. Abandoned. I wonder how that happened? Oh, well I suppose I'm about to find out. Rory, River, Team RWBY, keep one Silent in eyeshot at all times. Oh, hello. Sorry, you were in the middle of something. I just had to say, though, have you seen what's on the telly? Oh, hello, Amy, Jared. Are you all right?" The Doctor asked, putting the TV in front of Amy and I. "Want to watch some television? Ah. Now, stay where you are. Because look at me, I'm confident. You want to watch that, me, when I'm confident. Oh, and these are my friends River, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang. River and Yang have nice hair, clever, they have their own guns, and unlike me, River really doesn't mind shooting people and Yang doesn't really mind punching people. Ruby on the other hand, she can run as fast as Sonic the Hedgehog, she has a really cool scythe and sniper rifle hybrid, and she sounds like Amy. Weiss is great with a rapier and she was a former heiress, she knows how to be reliable. And Blake, she's a freedom fighter, has cat ears, and has dual swords. I shouldn't like that. Kind of do, a bit."

"Thank you, sweetie." River said, happily.

"I know you're team players and everything, but River and Team RWBY definitely kill at least the first seven of you."

"Well, the first fourteen, easily. With Team RWBY's help of course."

"Fourteen? Really?" The Doctor asked.

"Oh, sixteen for you, honey." River said.

"Stop it."

"Make me."

"Yeah? Well, maybe I will."

"Is this really important flirting? Because I feel like me and Jared should be higher on the list right now." Amy said, angrily.

"The next thing we would want is Blake and Yang to flirt." I said, annoyed. "Like, it would be so awkward. So save us, Doctor!"

"Yes. Right. Sorry. As I was saying, my naughty friends here are going to kill the first seven of you to attack, plus him behind, so maybe you want to draw lots or have a quiz." The Doctor said.

Rory is trying to free Amy and I.

"What's he got?" Amy asked.

"Something, I hope." Rory said.

"Or maybe you could just listen a minute. Because all I really want to do is accept your total surrender and then I'll let you go in peace. Yes, you've been interfering in human history for thousands of years. Yes, people have suffered and died, but what's the point in two hearts, if you can't be a bit forgiving, now and then? Ooo, the Silence. You guys take that seriously, don't you? Okay, you got me. I'm lying. I'm not really going to let you go that easily. Nice thought, but it's not Christmas. First, you tell me about the girl. Who is she? Why is she important? What's she for?" The Doctor asked.

"And we're getting a picture on the TV." McCandless said, nearby.

"Guys, sorry, but you're way out of time. Now, come on. A bit of history for you. Aren't you proud? Because you helped. Now, do you know how many people are watching this live on the telly? Half a billion. And that's nothing, because the human race will spread out among the stars. You just watch them fly. Billions and billions of them, for billions and billions of years, and every single one of them at some point in their lives, will look back at this man, taking that very first step, and they will never, ever forget it."

"Okay, engine stop. ATA on the descent. Modes control both auto. Descent engine command off." Someone on TV said.

The Doctor took out his phone, "Oh. But don't forget this bit. Ready?"

Cell...

"Ready." Canton said, attaching the videophone to the Doctor's super satellite phone, and dials up Apollo 11.

Spaceship...

"That's one small step for a man…" Armstrong said, nearby.

"You should kill us all on sight. You should kill us all on sight. You should kill us all on sight. You should kill us all on sight." The Silence said, on TV.

"You've given the order for your own execution, and the whole planet just heard you." The Doctor said.

"You should kill us all on sight." The Silence said, nearby.

"One giant leap for mankind." Armstrong said, nearby.

"And one whacking great kick up the backside for the Silence. You just raised an army against yourself and now, for a thousand generations, you're going to be ordering them to destroy you every day. How fast can you run? Because today's the day the human race throw you off their planet. They won't even know they're doing it. I think, quite possibly, the word you're looking for right now is oops. Run! Guys, I mean us. Run." The Doctor said.

The Silence is generating its electric shock. River and Team RWBY start shooting.

"Ugh, this is so annoying." Ruby said, trying to free me.

"I don't think that'll work." Yang said.

"Can't we do something else? How about ripping it out?"

"We are dealing with alien tech."

"Run! Into the Tardis, quickly." River said.

"Are you okay?" Ruby asked.

The Doctor sonicks Amy and I free.

"Not really…" I said, sadly.

Rory helps Amy while Ruby and Yang help me into the Tardis.

"Don't worry. You just need some rest." Yang said, smirking.

"Don't let them build to full power." The Doctor said.

"I know. There's a reason why I'm shooting with Weiss and Blake, honey. What are you doing?" River asked.

"Helping."

"You're not really helping." Weiss said. "You don't have a sonic blaster."

"And it's not really a gun." Blake said.

"Checkmate is right. You've got a screwdriver. Go build a cabinet." River said, annoyed.

"That's really rude." The Doctor said.

Learn how to drive." River said.

The Doctor, Weiss, and Blake go to the Tardis. River spins around and around, shooting all the time. Finally all the Silence lie dead.

"My old fellow didn't see that, did he? He gets ever so cross." River said.

"So, what kind of doctor are you?" Rory asked.

River shoots a Silence behind her without looking, "Archaeology. Love a tomb."

Tardis…

"You can let me fly it." The Doctor said.

"Yeah, or we could go where we're supposed to." River said.

"So, we're family to you." Blake said.

"Family?" I asked. "Did I really…"

"Yeah. You did." Weiss said.

"When did I?"

Weiss takes out the nano recorder she had inside her pocket.

"What's wrong?" Ruby asked, walking up to me.

"It's just...getting to Atlas. I don't know if it's worth it." I said, frowning.

"You know what I had to deal with to leave Atlas." Weiss said.

"It's okay. We've got each other." Yang said, smirking.

"So, we're heading home afterwards." Ruby said, smiling.

Amy kisses Rory.

"Thanks." Rory said.

"You're welcome." Amy said.

Oval Office…

"So we're safe again." Nixon said.

"Safe? Nope, America? We're never safe." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "It's not exactly the safest place. And there's about a billion other things out there just waiting to burn our whole world."

"But, if you want to pretend you're safe, just so you can sleep at night? Okay, you're safe. But you're not really. Canton. Until the next one, eh?" The Doctor asked.

"Looking forward to it." Canton said.

"Keep that body safe from Crowley, if you would." I said, smiling. "Or give it up, whatever."

"Crowley?"

"Jared. Parallel world. Crowley doesn't exist." The Doctor said, walking over to Nixon. "Canton just wants to get married. Hell of a reason to kick him out of the FBI."

"It really is a stupid reason." I said, rolling my eyes.

"I'm sure something can be arranged." Nixon said.

"Thanks. Don't let that marriage slip by. It could make things come quicker. Had to wait until it actually happened."

"We're counting on you." The Doctor said.

"Er, Doctor, Jared. Canton here tells me the both of you are, the both of you are from the future. It hardly seems possible, but I was wondering…" Nixon said.

"I should warn you I don't answer a lot of questions."

"But I'm a President at the beginning of his time. Dare I ask. Will I be remembered?"

"Oh, Dicky. Tricky Dicky. They're never going to forget you. Say hi to David Frost for me." The Doctor said.

"And keep an eye on Donald Trump." I said, walking towards the TARDIS. "Well, Ronald Reagan. Now that man, I loved him from what I read in history books. What he did, even if I'm a Democrat. I loved him more than Trump."

"David Frost? Donald Trump? Ronald Reagan?" Nixon asked, while the Tardis dematerialises. "This person you want to marry. Black?"

"Yes." Canton said.

"Hmm. I know what people think of me, but perhaps I'm a little more liberal."

"He is."

"I think the Moon is far enough, for now, don't you, Mister Delaware?"

"I figured it might be."

Stormcage…

"You could come with us." The Doctor said.

"I escape often enough, thank you. And I have a promise to live up to. You'll understand soon enough." River said.

"Okay. Up to you. See you next time. Call me."

"What, that's it? What's the matter with you?"

"Have I forgotten something?"

"Oh, shut up." River said, kissing the Doctor.

"Right. Okay. Interesting."

"Now darling, come here." River said, as I walked over to her for her to hug me. "I just want to squeeze you…"

I pushed River away not knowing how to react, "Uh…"

"What's wrong? The both of you are acting like we've never done that before." River said, looking between the Doctor and I. "The hugging and the kissing. Me hugging Jared, and me kissing you, Doctor."

"We haven't." The Doctor said.

"We haven't?" River asked.

"Nope, we haven't." I said, smiling. "I'm the one who usually gives hugs. Not one for receiving them, River. Well, look at the time. I have to get to Atlas, deliver that Relic."

"You said you had a headache."

"Still do. Doesn't hurt as much, I guess."

I clutched my head a little in pain, not knowing why.

"Yeah. We must be off. But it was very nice. It was, it was good. It was er, unexpected. You know what they say. There's a first time for everything." The Doctor said.

The Doctor and I go into the Tardis.

"And a last time." River said.

Kirito and Asuna's home / Mistral…

"So, things have gotten better for you, yeah?" Asuna asked.

Asuna looked over at the screen she had of me, scanning to see if my body is functioning normally. It is going back and forth between positive and negative.

There's another screen out of view for me to see with me calling her that has me suffering a bit of brain damage.

"It has." I said, sipping a cup of tea. "We're leaving Mistral first thing tomorrow."

Kirito appears in the room and he is walking to Asuna, "How is...oh."

"Shush." Asuna said, looking at the call she is having with me.

"Mommy said for you to not interrupt." Yui said, in her fairy form.

"Right…" Kirito said.

"Jared." Weiss said, walking towards me. "Got everything?"

"Ebb and Flow. My phone. And my backpack, yeah." I said, happily.

On another screen that Yui loaded up for Asuna is them trying to track my location, to see where I am in the universe.

"Are you okay?" Ruby asked.

"Positive." I said, with Ruby sitting next to me on the couch. "I'm fine."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

"Guys. We need to discuss our plans soon." Blake said.

"Our plans for what?" I asked.

"For what to do with the Relic of Knowledge." Yang said, entering the room.

"This is beyond what I know. We don't even know how to activate it."

"You'll figure it out." Asuna said. "Don't worry about it."

"What should I do?"

"You've rebooted the universe with the Doctor. And had Amy remember us. Thank you."

"No problem. Why couldn't you say that last time?"

"I couldn't." Asuna said. "We had to deal with the whole space loop."

"That you help start, Daddy." Yui said, glaring at Kirito.

"We really have to discuss what to do next." Weiss said.

"Guess I'll see you three around." I said, looking at Kirito, Asuna, and Yui.

"Bye." Asuna said.

"Goodbye." Yui said.

"See ya." Kirito said.

Kirito ended the call and he looked over at the monitors with Asuna and Yui.

(Open POV)

New York alleyway...

Six months later. Night. A tramp is scavenging when a little girl comes out of the shadows, coughing.

"Are you okay? Little girl, are you okay?" The tramp asked.

"It's all right. It's quite all right. I'm dying. But I can fix that. It's easy, really. See?" The girl asked.

Her skin glows with golden regeneration energy. She smiles, and the tramp runs.
