An engine rumbling, rattling, echoed out from the distance… and there it stayed echoing, stayed waiting.
He didn't even hear me agree… that's the thing about it. Dad said just enough to entice, to wonder, to the point he had no doubt that I'd go strapping in the seatbelt myself.
And he was exactly right.
Except I didn't go as readily as he would have hoped. For the next minute or several, I left him rumbling and rattling there still as I retreated back into the house because obviously if I just up and left without first informing Ash about it… well, I don't even have to say anything, I'd just be a complete retard.
