Chapter 22: I Want Royalty.
On his way to Phoenix Agency, the Systems prompts appeared continuously.
[Ding! Driving = Professional Level.]
"Only Professional Level? Master would've been nice." Long Tian said with a little disappointment, maybe because he was progressing too fast these days, so he thought that he would get to Master Level quite easily.
Long Tian arrived at Phoenix Agency, he entered into the office and then replied to her message on Twitter saying that he is here.
Soon a woman in suit and glasses came down, she had delicate features and her hair was tied up, she looked really pretty. She walked toward the lady at reception and asked her.
"Did someone come here and say that he wanted to meet Ms. Shiyi?"
The woman at the desk shook her head.
Long Tian noticed that the woman came for him and went forward.
"Excuse me, I am Narcissistic Dragon." Long Tian said and showed her the messages lest she doubts him. He had done his good amount of face-slapping for the day and was not in the mood for it again.
The woman in suit was dazed, she looked at Long Tian with surprised eyes.
"Nice to meet you, I am Su Feifei, Ms. Shiyi's personal assistant and manager." Said Su Feifei.
"I'm Long Tian nice to meet you." Long Tian replied.
Su Feifei took Long Tian upstairs, they then entered Fu Shiyi's room. Fu Shiyi was sitting with her legs crossed, she was in a white shirt with distant black stripes and a black skirt, clearly revealing the elegance of her long legs.
"Shiyi, this is Long Tian, he was the one who wrote the song." Su Feifei introduced Long Tian.
Fu Shiyi's eyes too flashed with surprise.
"I did not expect Mr. Long to be so young, you are really tall too." Fu Shiyi said.
Inevitably, the first thing you notice when you see Long Tian is his height.
"Ms. Shiyi can address me without any formalities." said Long Tian.
"Then you remove that Ms. from my name too." Fu Shiyi replied with a smile.
"As for me, you can call me Sis Feifei" Su Feifei joined in.
After some small talk, they finally started to talk about business.
"So, Long Tian I would like to hear the entire lyrics before deciding the payment for your work." Fu Shiyi said, after all how can you make commitments when you only know half the facts? what if the other half was not good. So, Fu Shiyi had her own concerns.
"Sure." Long Tian smiled and started to recite the entire song, he was not singing, but merely reciting it, yet both Fu Shiyi and Su Feifei were astonished, with each line they showed a different expression, that was just how well written Long Tian's lyrics were.
"Beautifully written." Fu Shiyi and Su Feifei exclaimed at the same time.
"Long Tian, just name the price, I will transfer the amount to you right now." Fu Shiyi continued. She was very much in love with the lyrics.
"I don't want to sell these lyrics, instead I have two conditions." Long Tian said showing two of his fingers.
Fu Shiyi and Su Feifei were both confused and curious, so they nodded their head and said;
"Go on. We'd like to hear your conditions."
"First, I will be the one to compose the music for this song as I believe that no one else will be able to do my lyrics justice. Second, I don't want payment instead I want a 50% Royalty, so all the money that this song earns, I will get 50% of it." Long Tian said with straight face.
Fu Shiyi and Su Feifei were stunned, this demand, isn't this a bit too much? they looked at each other and went deep into thought, soon they discussed in low voices and after a few moments Fu Shiyi said to Long Tian.
"Your conditions, I can agree to them, but for that I need to be satisfied with the final piece. Let's record the song right here, we have a well equipped studio."
Long Tian nodded and they went to the recording studio. What greeted him inside the studio was an old man about 60 years of age.
"Oh, Young Shiyi who might this lad be?" The old man looked at Fu Shiyi in askance.
"Old Jian, this is Long Tian, he wrote the lyrics that I showed you, but he has a condition that it must be him who will compose the music, so I brought him along to record the song." Fu Shiyi replied.
Old Jian was stunned, he saw those lyrics and they were indeed amazing, but this fellow even wanted to compose now, what's next? becoming the President?. In his heart he looked down on Long Tian.
"Sigh.. young people these days truly don't know the height of the heavens. I agree that you can write the best lyrics but composing is not everyone's cup of tea." Old Jian said shaking his head.
"Why don't we see if I can or not." Long Tian replied with a smile.
Long Tian was not offended by what Old Jian said, because he knew that he meant well and Old Jian had all the right to look down on him, because this Old Jian's real name is Wu Jian, he is the best Composer in the entirety of Country Z, even some foreign singers sometimes ask for him to work on their song. In his life, Old Jian had helped make countless masterpieces.
"Let's go with the instrumentals first." Long Tian said radiating with a very professional aura.
Fu Shiyi, Su Feifei and Old Jian were looking forward to what Long Tian would show them.
