Chapter 545: 22

The city lord recovered from his surprise, and stared at Wyatt with a glare that could have killed. Wyatt started walking toward the city lord. Leaving big cracks in the table as he walked.

"I don't think you're going to take me up on my offer," The purple smoke that started to flow out through his mask was deadly.

The surprise on the elves faces told me that they were unfamiliar with the magic Wyatt was currently using. The purple smoke spread out around his feet. The elven nobles covered their mouths as they tried to prevent the smoke from getting in their mouths. The smoke didn't need to get in their mouths to affect them because although it looked like smoke it wasn't actually smoke. I'd seen this when Wyatt was testing it out.

It was a hand tailored poison specifically meant to affect elves. It wouldn't kill them right away. Without the anti venom many of these elven nobles would lose their ability to use magic. The poison was meant to damage someone's core beyond use. I think Wyatt said something about it causing their cores to attract impurities.

The more poison that they were exposed to the more dangerous the poison was. If someone absorbed too much of the poison then their core could break. The purple smoke spread out around the table as the amount of it grew. The problem with this poison was how slow it moved. The smoke stopped coming from behind the mask but continued to spread out from where Wyatt was standing.

"What's the matter?" Wyatt laughed as his poison exploded outward.

It struck all the nearby nobles. Since it wasn't smoke it hit far harder then they expected it to. It took the shape of tentacles as it continued to expand. Wrapping around half a dozen nobles as it started to sink into their skin. The lord blinked so he was in front of Wyatt this time.

Their blades crossed a second time, and once again Wyatt wasn't moved. The lord wasn't giving it his all, but he wasn't taking it easy either. He was treating Wyatt as a legitimate threat now. I stepped away from the dark poison as it went from rubbery tentacles to liquid. Once Wyatt lost control over the magical poison it became attracted to to the mana of the elves around it.

It would be attracted to me to a certain degree as well, but now Wyatt's double had been set loose as well. He rushed toward me with purpose. Grabbing me, and yanking me along with him as he ran. He was my bodyguard. That was what they expected of him.

Wyatt extended a hand, and shot lightning the direction his double was heading.

"Did I say you could leave?" His tone sent chills down my spine.

The poison was drawn to the elves just as I thought it would be. I didn't really know how Wyatt created this poison or how he created any of the spells he'd made. He'd barely had any time for anything other than Letty's training in the past year. He'd had more time since we came to the elven world, but not enough time to learn the things he was doing now. Wyatt brought the poison back under control, and laced it with his ice sword.

All while fighting the city lord. His blade would be even more deadly now that it was laced with potentially lethal poison. The blade turned black as all the poison he'd created that wasn't absorbed was packed into the ice blade. One slash would be enough to restrict mana flow to the point that any magic user would have difficulty sending mana through that part of the body. The elves didn't know that yet though.

Wyatt's stance changed suddenly as his entire style of swordsmanship changed. This was more like Letty's swordsmanship. I'd seen him do that a few times when he had a single sword. It was a habit that he was developing. Letty's particularly aggressive swordsmanship suited the dragon well.

Defense became the offense with a single flick of the wrist. Wyatt slapped the lord's sword to the side with his own. Diving in close for a jab that almost reached the lord. The slash in his shirt told everyone there that he'd gotten close to wounding the lord. The poison that clung to the slash in his shirt started to migrate towards his body.

The lord's spatial awareness warned him of the danger, and caused him to rip the enchanted shirt free from his body. He replaced it with enchanted armor. Giving no one time to see his toned body. Ironically showing skin to someone who wasn't your betrothed or family was considered highly dishonorable to the elves. Wyatt rushed ahead with that same psychotic happy energy that he showed when he was actually enjoying a fight.

The speed of their blades was hard for my eyes to track, and Wyatt was pushing even faster. The lord was starting to break a sweat. I would have thoroughly enjoyed the chaos if it wasn't for the waves of mana crashing down on all of us. Wyatt's blade was falling with far more weight then it should have been. Sometimes the power of gravity would be thrown out to the side when the lord deflected his blade strikes.

The gravity would follow the altered course. Slamming into any unfortunate elf that hadn't moved far enough away to avoid the gravitational wave. Wyatt was doing it on purpose. He was causing damage to everyone around him. The table gave out when it took too much damage from the two that were violently fighting on it.

The lord was starting to notice the damage that Wyatt was causing. He hit Wyatt with a particularly hard strike. Knocking him back away from the guests at the table. He actually ended up closer to me, and his double with his back to me. That meant I had an opening to attack.
