I’m usually fairly bad at leaving reviews only cos I tend to forget lol. But this novel is fairly good, I ended up binge reading it and used up all of what I had left 😭 lol good novel. Can’t say how good it will become since I’m not that deep in yet. But I hope it gets better.

An unusual take for a cultivation novel that explores the indomitable will juxtaposed against impossible circumstances in which the characters are directed by an invisible will whose only purpose is the fulfillment of the promise free will versus a system of total control toward thae attainment of an immortal civilization. And if you can figure out what that means, then you must have read to the end of the story like I have.

This novel started off very good where the MC was part of a city where everyone got teleported to a new world and they had to survive altogether. The city ultimately got overrun but MC went back in time and received an ability to upgrade himself through contribution points from changing the future. But then, two major flaws appeared as the chapter count got higher. 1) Instead of focusing on growing stronger, the author decided to go all investigation of this and that, causing the novel to move sideways. Writing filler arcs are fine, but it's not fine when it goes on for 50 chapters. 2) The author keeps throwing wikipedia info dumps whenever he/she can. Like our MC would slice apart a bus to throw the metal at monsters. But before he actually throws, there would be a paragraph on how the bus was made and what type of materials were used. And this happens constantly and becomes annoying as the story progresses. Those two things completely lowered the quality of this novel but I still recommend a try.

Its my first time writing review. I really like this novel.Worldbuild is solid i think.Mc is op and sometimes you feel nored and want to drop. But the scheme in the novel are cool but it take too long sometimes. The best thing about this novel is the world building and even though i feel bored at this novel,it always bring me suprises and make me get into novel again and sometimes i cant wait for chapters and want to read it so much especially the latter chapters. (review from chapter 1756)

Just when I'm thinking this is getting boring the author hit again with some exciting plot!!! And all who were saying too much patriotism, c'mon maybe it is too much for other books but for this story where there are only few million of people surrounded by monsters and unknown, this level of feelings is to be expected. Anyway I accept this book is bit of a drag but it also has its charms.

I don't know why the author keeps doing this but they love to drop multiple chapters of dialog at a time. Often times the mc will have a debate on subjects like good vs evil or the rich vs the poor. These debates not only last multiple chapters but have also been repeated multiple times. No one wants to listen to the mc debate for that long, let alone re debate the same topics over and over. It completely ruins the flow of the story and I sit there rolling my eyes at the excruciatingly long philosophical debate that tries to be as deep as possible but just comes across as word padding.

Why doesn't he tell his family that he is reincarnated? Makes it seem more like there's an imposter than the actual him. Who the f would not be scared shirtless if their son/brother starts behaving like he does?

The story is entertaining—more action than 40 Millenniums of Cultivation with an interest in similar themes. A lot of faceslapping in early chapters but the plot gets more interesting, plus I think the author gets a better grasp on what kind of main character he is trying to create as the story progresses. Early in the story there is kind of a schizophrenic quality to the MC and you can never be sure if he’s going to be sinister and cunning or clownishly naive in a given scenario, but the writing evens out over time so there are way fewer jarring personality changes. The translation is very low quality (riddled with errors that a human who is fluent in English would never make, so it is obviously mostly MTL and lightly edited) but at least chapters are released fast.

Well in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking at this matter in a different way and without fighting and by trying to make it clear, and by considering each and everyone's opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

So I have read 1100 by this point and I have to ask, WTH is up with the author's grammar and sentence structuring? If its not using the same word twice incorrectly, its the constant pronoun issue (keeps changing the gender pronoun for male/female characters). Most annoying though is that the author keeps changing the words he chooses to translate, uses Samurai instead of Warrior for some reason, change the name Blood Alliance to Blood Union and several others. What strange is that the author can write in a grammatically correct manner but its like he has no concept of editing or beta readying before release. I even sometimes get the feeling sometimes that the author is using Machine translation and then "fixing" resulting translation. Overall, I enjoy the story, its a bit long winded, but very interesting.

Some translation mistakes. Was interesting then turned to complete filler. 1 chapter gets dragged out to 3 with essays of dialogue as MC talks to enemy before fighting. Talking to enemies is okay I guess, but unrealistic. Evil masterminds be standing still while MC does 3 chapters worth of talking. Then MC does very intense mental replaying of everything for a chapter or two. Then MC spends 2 chapters telling someone else what just happened. Then MC spends multiple chapters searching for the enemy. Repeat. Best part is all the words are copied and pasted after a few loops of this. Just change the names of the enemies.

I'd like to say this is an interesting read... but I'd be lying. the first hundred or so chapters are nice and consistent, man reincarnated as his younger self with a system to change a dismal future. Problem being the author forgets how the character is from arc to arc. The prime example is that the mc in school constantly warns his naive classmates that the monstrous wilds are not a playground. Yet as soon as he is thrust into the wilds the mc adopts his classmates attitudes. 'Were all humans we shouldn't be fighting each other!!!' Yet he warns his classmates of EXACTLY this sort of thing. Do yourselves a favor, don't spend coins on this TRASH.

Beside the usual comeback to the past and system, it's actually good reading. the world background and the character was good the only problem for me is the lots of filler in the book making me reading while skipping the pages.

story starts as typical travel to past with a system in apocalypse novel, but with nerfs. then it continues as typical xianxia, just to change to some kind of mystery novel. authors is making lots of plotholes and then forcibly explains them later in story with twisted logic. for someone who is reincarnated into past MC is really stupid. instead of getting help, he tries to do everything solo... fate of the whole city hangs on his knowledge, but he must be in front lines every single time there is a disaster. what ticks me the off most is when there is ultra time sensitive danger MC has to write an essay to other characters explaining his logic for running away. also the philosophical discussions with enemies about class divide between superhumans and normals. it is just rinse and repeat. every time enemies get caught they have to justify their betrayal and every time reason is the same (with slight differences). and world background just doesnt make sense... whole city transmigrated to other planet, having zombie apocalypse, viruses abound, monsters attacking and in just 50 years they have population of tens of millions. even if city had 50 million people when it transmigrated i doubt that 1 in 100 could survive initial 10 years. food intake that even 1 million city needs everyday is enormous, not to mention bigger cities.

Honestly, this is a good novel. A good background story, well-developed story, even a plethora of character existed here. The only problem is the MC design. If course a positive vibe MC is nice but he is too idealistic for me. And the Talk no Jutsu that could invoke other emotion was used too much, it's fine if it's only once in a while but for almost every fight they have, there will always be talk no jutsu? really?? The balance that the author tried to achieve became something like a hindrance, a big flaw in the story. (This is my personal opinion. I only read up to 500-550 chapter)

The story itself is great, the system trope is a bit overused by now. The author attempts to fuse magic, science and cultivation I to a single package, which is very admirable, but he somehow has selective memory failures at some points and plot holes caused by author not fully understanding the implications of his own world building. oh, and his science sounds something like fibrillar myoosteoporosis, which sounds pretty scientific - to someone who has no idea what that word soup means, or should mean at least.

This novel is pretty good, not good enough to compare to the classics but atleast better than 90% of the translated novel on webnovel, this novel is clearly intended to be read slowly, heck even the pace of the novel is slow, but we can see here that this will be a long one (currently up to date, have read till chapter 1287) I wouldn't recommend this to new readers, because they wouldn't be able to understand why this one is good, for all old readers i'd say enjoy, a novel like this isn't easy to come by these days, as for how to know when you're an old leader, just check if you search hours for a new good novel and then you qualify
