Chapter 10: Start of the Legend

Atlas POV
This is it! The start of the path to my dreams!
This day is the orientation day, that's why I'm preparing myself to face the hardships of engineering.
They said that engineering is hard, so they might as well be prepared for it!
6:00 am
I woke up.
I took a peek to Fatty's side, but it seems like he'll be late today, he's still snoring like a pig!
I suffered so much last night because of him!
He fell asleep by 10:00 pm and when I say fell asleep I mean the start of his snores!
It was already midnight but I'm still awake!
My eyes are red from tiredness.
'Please let me sleep!' I said in my head as I roll over the bed finding a good position.
I don't even know how I manage to fell asleep under his thunderous snores.
I was just roused from my sleep after hearing my alarm clock.
After I woke up, I did a little stretching then I immediately took a bath in the bathroom.
7:00 AM
I'm ready to go, I decided to wake Fatty up.
Fatty POV
Dreams:
~FATTY~~FATTY~
I saw Beatrice calling me out with her scary coy voice, with her is a barbeque stick.
Why the hell does she have a barbeque stick?!
~FATTY~~FATTY~
She said coyly as she approached me slowly like a killer in horror movies.
What the hell is she doing?!
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA" *EVIL LAUGH*
She suddenly laughed.
Aish, let's just run!
Even in my dream, I'm still a runner huh?
Wake me up, please!!!
~FATTY~~FATTY~
I suddenly heard her voice as if she's right beside me.
Turn to look at my side then I saw her smiling at me!
"AHHHHH~~" I screamed
That scared the XXXX out of me.
"Fatty hey wake up it's 7:00 am already!" I heard Flint as he shook me awake
Thank God! I'm finally awake!
"Thanks, bud! You saved me from Beatrice again I said" I said to him
"Huh?" He asked in confusion
I didn't bother answering him it's embarrassing to tell him that I'm afraid of a coy woman!
I rushed towards the bathroom when I feel the urge to pee.
"Hey! Fatty I'll go now!" he shouted outside the bathroom.
"Wait for me!" I shouted back.
"I'll be done in 5 mins!" I followed up
"Okay fine!" he replied
After 50 mins
I looked at Atlas
"5 mins? Huh?" he asked sarcastically
"hehe!" I just laughed awkwardly
"YOU @#$%%^%#@@ FATTY!" he shouted in anger
Run!
Wow! I think I might as well try out in the Runners Club!
Atlas' POV
This darn fatty made me wait for 50 mins!
5 mins your face!
Aish we're gonna be late because of him!
We arrived at the school after running for 5 mins.
"Hey, Fatty! Wait up! *Haa~*" I yelled at him while panting heavily
I'm not a runner you know! Not like this fat pig, despite his large frame how can he run so well? Did he train for it?
"What's your course?" I asked him
Yes, only now did I remember to ask him this question
We're so tired yesterday accompanying that coy girl he offended.
As for what happens let fatty tell the rest.
"BSME you?" he replied calmly
Damn, he didn't even grasp for breath after that long run!
It seems like this fatty is really a runner huh? But how come he's so fat?!
"BSME? As in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering?" I asked in surprised
"Yes!" He replied
"Oh! We're the same!" I exclaimed
"What's your class right now?" I asked him
"Calculus 001" he replied
"Woah! Alright, let's go! I think we have the schedule, let me take a look at yours'" I said excitedly
I'm glad that we have the same class! I'm happy that I have someone I'm familiar with for my first time in college.
"Do you know where the room is?"
"Do you know where the room is?"
We asked in unison!
What a bad luck we have! We only have 5 mins before the class start yet we still don't know where our classroom is.
We roamed around the whole campus looking for the engineering bldg.
Fortunately, I remembered that I have the ability to scan buildings and stuff.
'Scan the whole campus' I commanded

After not even a second

I was shocked by the data shown in my eyes
The L university is one humongous school!
I thought we have already traveled at least 2/3 of the school but it turns out we haven't even traveled ¼ of it.

'Look for engineering equipment' I subconsciously thought as I look around reminding my self to look for engineering equipment

'Stop' I commanded
I need to be careful next time it searches everything according to my thoughts!
But did it just call me holder?

A matriculation form? Is that it?
Whatever I decided to go towards the nearest building
'Building 1 - 432.2321 meters away from me'
"Flint! Let's go there!" I said as I point towards the building 1
"Okay then!" he agreed
After we reached the building, we saw a banner saying
'Welcome Freshmen'
"It seems like we're on the right path Atlas!" he said
It turns out that after passing through the gate, the building on the left was the Engineering Bldg.!
And yet here we are roaming the whole campus looking for a building we just passed through!
Urgh!
By the time we reached our classroom, we are already late by 15 mins!
"Now does anybody has an answer?" we heard the professor asked
We decided to enter the classroom through the backdoor.
But I guess this professor has an outstanding eye vision despite his age.
He saw us.
"You two come here!" he pointed his finger towards the both of us
"Introduce yourself the class!" he commanded
"I-I-I'm A-At-Atlas Aldi-diem A-Alcantara" I introduce my self stutteringly
And the whole class laughed at me
'What's a stutter doing here'
'~I-I-I'm A-At-Atlas Aldi-diem A-Alcantara~'
'BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA'
They laughed and mocked me
"Shut up!" Fatty yelled at them
Then the whole class started laughing more
'Damn what a fat pig!'
'~Shut up~'
'BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA'
Just like me, fatty was mocked as well
I feel humiliated
"Okay that's enough!" the professor pacified the crazy class
The class immediately silenced
"You two! Can you answer this?" he asked us
'Them? A stutter and a fatty?'
'Don't make us laugh prof!'
'BWAHAAHAHAHAHA'
They murmured loudly
I saw a problem on the board
'Scan' I commanded

Problem:
Find the dimensions of a rectangle with perimeter 1000 meters so that the area of the rectangle is a maximum.
Solution:
1000=2x+2y
y=500−x.
A(x) = x(500−x)
= 500x−x2
dA/dx = 500−2x.
if dA/dx = 0
x=250
Answer:
Maximum area is 62,500
All these solutions took less than a second to process and the system immediately gave me the answer!
"62,500 sir" I tried my best not to stutter
The class that was silent suddenly laughed!
'what a faker!'
'look if you're going to randomly give answers you better not give it to save your self from the embarrassment okay? pfft'
'BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA'
They mocked me again can't blame them though I took only 2 seconds to answer sir's question, who would believe that me?
"SILEENCE" Sir shouted
"What did you say?" sir asked me again
"si-si-sixty t-two thousand f-five hundred s-sir" I answered nervously
"Can you explain it to the class?" he said
I don't know what happened but this time I didn't stutter not even a bit
"Let the length of the rectangle be x, the width be y, and the area be A.
... Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, ...
So the maximum area is 62 500 square meters."
I explained to class without stuttering
That's because I imagined that I'm only talking to myself
This time the whole class went silent
*Silence*
Then Professor who just watched me suddenly clapped his hands
*Clap* *Clap*
"Good job you have a very good fundamental!" Prof praised me
"Okay take a seat at the back" Prof said
We proceeded to the back.
This time the class stayed silent.
Thanks to my ability I manage to save myself.
After we reached the backseats
Only then did I notice Beatrice the girl that troubles Flint is also in the class.
'She's also taking mechanical engineering?' I said in my head
Looks like it won't be a good school year for Flint
"Hey! You two! Sit here!" she commanded us
I let Flint go first making him sit beside Beatrice.
Poor Flint
"Okay here's another problem, anyone?" Prof said while looking at the whole class looking for a student to answer
Then the front door opened!
The girl I saved from the Fire entered the room!
She looks around at the classroom with her cold eyes
Then her gaze passed through me and before I knew it she's already staring at me.
