Chapter 58: Alora: the Loyal Assistant (1)
Alora was encoding the details in her desktop while her team was giving her all the information she needed. She grunted when some of their information contradict to each other nevertheless, she wrote it.
She couldn't decide at this time without properly setting up her mind.
"I asked from selected residents whether they saw him or not. Some said that he stayed in a motel for a day before 3 men in suit kind of fetched him. No one saw Drake, just Julius,"
"okay, look at the recordings, the plate number, and do your very best but always remember, your safety is first and foremost. Sir Niko will be furious when he sees us wounded. Any useful information in District 4-7?"
"yes ma'am. We've caught some drug dealers in district 5. I managed to chat with one of the dealers and he said that he knew Drake. At least, one of his friend works for Drake. The others are tracking him already,"
"okay good. How about the others?"
"we're stalling. I'm sorry ma'am," the person on the other line apologized, feeling sorry for her failure.
"it's fi—"
"no ma'am. You gave the orders a few days ago yet we still don't have any lead or information to give you. I'm truly—" Alora cut her off before she would feel depress.
She didn't want to hear any apology coming from any of her team members or subordinates. It was one of her nightmares. She hated that one.
"no it's fine. Update me if your team has information to give. That's it for today girls," Alora thanked the 7 women before going off. She stretched her hands before cracking her neck.
Since they have their own room in the mansion, she didn't really go out. She goes out whenever she needed to but most of the time, she stays in her own office which was connected to her small bedroom.
Niko provided all his special workers a home. Most of his workers were 'lone wolf'. That's the reason why he got them in the first place. He provided necessary things for them. That was enough to point out where their loyalty lies.
When she went out of her office, she noticed that her bedroom was a bit messy. She looked at the time and realized that she had the whole afternoon to clean and organize her stuffs.
Starting from her bedroom, she grabbed all the clothes in the laundry basket before placing it in her bathroom. She made the bed and started vacuuming the floor. When she was done, she let the sunlight in inside her room as it was too dark and cold.
She proceeded to organize her office before she decided to do laundry. When she was finally done, it was already 7 in the evening. It was time for the assigned cooks to make dinner.
She went down the stairs and greeted all of the people she met along the way. When she arrived at the kitchen, one of the cook handed her food already.
"I know you stayed all night days ago,"
"I did a good job," she tried to reason out while taking a bite of her sandwich.
"really? Why tell your subordinates about their safety? Hmm...I think it goes like this, your safety is first and foremost. That's how you say it, isn't it?"
"I didn't want to disappoint Niko. You know that already Sam. He helped me a lot. This is the only way for me to repay him,"
She grabbed the other sandwich that Sam just placed a couple of seconds ago.
"so you both call each other by first names, huh? Is there any spicy things happening between you two?"
Alora made a disgusted face at the thought of them being close. It was never happening. "he brings numerous girls in his apartment and in his company. That's a no-no for me, Sam,"
"then find a guy! You're 27 year old virgin for goodness sake!" Sam exclaimed, captivating the stares of the other cooks. She whispered sorry before looking at the depressed woman.
"do you really want to be single forever? Don't you want to have a family of your own? I would love to see mini Alora—the cute ones—actually mini opposite Alora,"
Alora made a pointed look before munching the sandwich on her hand. "I don't even have a time to date someone. I have a lot of responsibilities, I'm his personal assistant in terms of this and his employee in his company,"
"there should be an employee or couple of men who likes you. You're smart, tall, daring, pretty, responsible, reliable, kind, obedient and most importantly, you're loyal. What's missing?"
"I'm a sucker when it comes to love Sam. You out of all people, knows that," we're her last words before she grabbed the plates, waved her hand and went back to her room.

Jeliane143 I'm afraid I won't be posting updates for a while. Hopefully it wouldn't take longer than a week. Though I finished writing the plot on my journal, things are getting harder for me to write and evaluate it well. I'll be updating 2 or maybe 3 chapters and until then, I'm off.
