Chapter 52: Getting comfortable
Right after she had dinner with Niko, with some other business partners of course, Jun arrived at the exact place.
When he received her text for the address, he used all his might to convince Leonardo to let him go and fetch his fiancée. He couldn't help but to give Leonardo a good hug when he agreed.
Her brother walked her to the entrance and after they arrived, he asked "alright, I'll see you tomorrow?"
She looked at Jun before looking back at Niko. "fine, I'm helping you. See you tomorrow brother," she pulled him for a hug before whispering, "by tomorrow, I expect your office to be disinfected,"
Niko scoffed at her before pushing her away from him. He looked at Jun before pointing two fingers before his eyes and then back at Jun as if saying, "I'm watching you,"
Jun nodded, not even affected by him. He still didn't know how capable he was of doing something. We'll see about that.
"how was your day?" she asked while giving him a hug and nuzzling her neck on his shoulder.
He opened the car door from the passenger's seat before going around and got inside before he was able to answer her question. "it was fine. The dinner was exceptionally good,"
"how about your day? Saw the posts by the way. You looked absolutely amazing,"
She did not know how to act with his compliment. For the past days, she's been getting compliments from him as their relationship develops. Nevertheless, she still couldn't get used to it. It gave her butterflies and it scared her. How can a feeling be so strong?
"thank you. Uh...it was fine. All I did was to read files and help the brains of the people get to work. It seemed like they needed me to activate their capabilites," both snorted to her sarcastic remarks. Whenever someone pissed her off, she really get sarcastic and sassy and to the point where she couldn't understand what she was feeling.
No one wanted her to act like a psychopath because she can easily pull it off and blend with normal people.
Let's just say, Liana is hard to decipher. She gets mad without any reason and when she realizes that she was mad, she either walked it off and totally ignore her victim or felt remorse and make up for her actions. Whenever she's alone, she thinks of her life and how it got to the present and why did it turned out that way. When she thinks she knows the reason why things happened, she would leave it be and slept it off.
Years ago, when she was just nothing but a child, she lost her freedom to be carefree. After she got discharged, she was told by her parents to never go out with them and her rich friends including Ashley and the others. She did not understand why, only that it was for the best.
She did not know about Julius and the hospital thing before Jun told her. She was exempted from the dark world and that was the main reason why she was hidden.
She spent her teenage years in Torsey with manang Brenda. She lost contact with her friends. Niko and her other brothers were not allowed to visit her except on certain holidays. She disguised herself as a normal teenager and not some spoiled brat and grew up as a respectable lady, thanks to manang Brenda.
She never felt the love of her real mother as manang Brenda was the one who took care of her and she was beside her throughout her entire life. When her mother decided to act like what a mother should do, she was unable to approach her and she denied her from reaching out to her too.
Perhaps the reason why she was hard to decipher and why she carried those heavy emotions was because when her own parents banned her from entering the house and from interacting with them in public.
How could a mother do that to her child? Should she let her be? Liana was capable of forgiving. There's no doubt of that. She did not like to hold grudges. She forgave her parents, but she never forget what they did to her.
What people usually say, " You have to forgive to forget, and forget to feel again. Always forgive, but never forget, else you will be a prisoner of your own hatred and doomed to repeat your mistakes forever,"
What she missed out was forgiving doesn't mean forgetting everything. What it means is that forgiving is remembering everything without pain.
" hey baby, you alright? " he worridely asked, realizing that she wasn't talking. She was thinking of the employees who pissed her off.
"yeah, I was thinking of those people who kept on pissing me off. I'm so close to shutting them out but I don't want to. I feel like I'm just wasting my time and energy,"
That was the truth. Although she did shut them off by posting her feelings in social media and by correcting the employee a while ago, she felt like it was not necessary and it was wrong for her to level with those people.
"now that is strength," he was amazed at how she can control her anger out. Young adults nowadays couldn't walk on their right path and by knowing that she felt wrong for shutting them up, he was amazed. He was not the calm person and he was rather the violent man but with her, things would abruptly calm down without even realizing.
"do you want to sleep? I'm sure sleep is the best thing to do,"
She thanked him for letting her sleep and slowly closed her eyes. He was getting details about her and it made her heart leaped. Knowing that he knows little things about her, it felt amazing and right for her.
