Chapter 12: A One-Sided Fight
For the first time in his life, he never felt so helpless. No matter what he did, he never landed an attack on his enemy, as if his enemy area slippery snake. Always dodging his attack no matter what.
On top of that, his enemy doesn't even look flustered. He already sent his strongest attack, but the enemy in front of him just shrugged it off like it was nothing. This made him angry, but he can't do anything to the man in front of him.
"Is this all you've got?" Said the man in front of him with a mocking tone.
"Is this the strength of the branch leader of the Darkblood Assassins?"
Adam laughed. He thought that the branch leader of Darkblood Assassins are strong, but it looks like he was wrong. It dissapointed him. But perhaps he's strong in the eyes of other people. Unfortunately, he was facing the Emperor of Mankind from Earth.
"You! How dare you underestimate me! A branch leader of the Darkblood Assassins!"
"You're just a branch leader, not the real one, so why should I be afraid of you? A mere ant can't never scare a lion."
The black hooded man in front of him gnashed his teeth. Adam knew that the man now realized how big of a gap their power is. No matter what the man sent to attack him, it will never reach Adam. Even if Adam stood still and let the attack hit him, it will not leave a single scratch on him.
"Now, I'll let you see what a real attack is."
Adam pointed the end of his spear towards the hooded man. Though there's no energy fluctuation coming out of Adam's body, the man instinct still told him to run quickly. Cold sweat started to appear on his face.
Just by pointing that spear already made him scared shitless! What kind of bullshit is this!? He can't believe this, he will not believe it no matter what! What's so scary about the man in front him!? There's no energy coming out of his body! He's probably not even a Magic Knight or a Cultivator!
The black hooded man already lost his cool ever since Adam keep dodging his attack. Now, he can't even think straight. Without thinking much further, the man charged over, a burst of energy surrounded his body and his sword. He betted everything on this single attack, hoping to kill Adam instantly.
But Adam only sneered. A futile effort of a desperate man. But he still would not go easy on him. A gold with a tinge of white energy enveloped his spear. An aura of dominance burst out of Adam's body, suppressing the hooded man in front of him.
Now the man just realized how terrifying Adam is! All this time, he had been played by him! It's like a a predator that decided to play with it's prey before killing it! Usually it was him who's doing it! Not the opposite!
"True Longinus: Seven Burning Rays."
A burst of light exploded from the tip of the spear. Seven rays made of light launched towards the black hooded man. It was too fast, the black hooded man can't even evade it in time. So the seven rays hit his body, making his body burns, effectively burning his body inside out.
"Primordial Flame, the very first flame that was made after the Creation. How does it feel to get burned by it?"
Of course the black hooded man can't answer Adam's question because he already turned to ashes. The surrounding men stared at Adam with fear clearly seen in their eyes. In their eyes, Adam is no longer a human—but a monster—no, perhaps more than that.
"I already wasted enough time, it is time to finish this."
As he spoke, Adam pointed his spear to his enemies again. He used [True Longinus: Seven Burning Rays] again to kill them all in one shot. Some tried to run, but the rays of primordial fire keep chasing them as if they were alive. No one escaped from those seven rays of primordial fire. All burned to ashes.
Looking around, Adam make sure that nobody is left alive. If somehow one people managed to survive, it will spell problem for him, because there will be more people coming to hunt him. Though, sooner or later the news of him eradicating the Darkblood Assassins branch will be spread, what's there to be afraid of?
Adam walked outside the cave and saw Krisna fighting a group of men. To be precise—he's playing with them—a smile could be seen in his face all the time. Adam could guess that Krisna doesn't even let out ten percent of his strengths.
"Ah, Young Master, you're back." Said Krisna as he pushed back a man that tried to attack him.
"Is everything done?"
"Yes, now we need one people for us to interrogate."
"Then what should we do to the rest of them?"
"Kill them."
The group of assassins swallowed down their own saliva when they heard Adam's order. They now knew why Krisna only stood in his place and didn't even try to kill them, it's because he was waiting for his Master's order! They wanted to run, but they knew it was impossible, just Krisna alone is already ridiculously strong, then just how strong is the man behind him?
"As you wish."
As soon as Krisna finished talking, he disappeared from where he stood. A black claw appeared on the back of his hand. He slashed his claws toward one of the assassins, slashing him to three different pieces in one breath.
That move from Krisna scared the remaining assassins. They held up their weapons and faced Krisna. This fight is impossible to win, but they should at least die trying.
"Die you wretch!"
One of the assassins lunged forward wit a sword in his hand. The assassins slashed his sword towards Krisna while he's still in the air. A black crescent shaped energy flew out of the assassins sword. Flying towards Krisna fast.
But Krisna didn't even bother to dodge. He snorted and extended his hand, attempting to catch that black energy with his bare hand.
"Fool!" The assassins mocked. He can't believe his own eyes! Did Krisna tried to catch his attack! That's just suicide!
But what happen next surprised him, Krisna just grabbed that energy like it was nothing. How can a person even grab an incorporeal energy! This is impossible!
"Monster!"
"You're right, I am a monster, but it is too late for you to realize it. Do you regret it now?"
Krisna smirked. Then he suddenly charged towards the assassin, he lifted the assassins to the air. His left hand grabbing his upper body while his right hand grabbed his lower body. He used his brute strength to tear that assassin into two. The blood from that assassin drenched Krisna clothes with blood. Making him look like demon that come straight from hell. The assassin he killed didn't even have the time to scream as his throat was choked.
He did not stop. He keep attacking the remaining until there was one assassins left. Some of them didn't even have the guts to fight him—literally—as they were attacked by Krisna with his energy that turned into an arrow. Destroying their organs in an instant.
The last assassins can't believe with what he was seeing. All of his comrade are now dead! None of them can do anything to Krisna as he attacked! This is ridiculous!
Adam then walked forward. All the slaughter and the bodies around him didn't even faze him one bit. This is a familiar scene for him. Where the weak is slaughtered by the strong. Comparing to the slaughter commited by the Gods, this was nothing in comparison.
Standing in front of the assassin, Adam stretched his right hand. His palm touched the assassins forehead. Now Adam is reading all of the assassin memories. He knew everything that this assassin had done in the past. But he couldn't find anything that's important. He shouldn't kill that leader back then, but it already happened, guess he could only ask Krisna to find more information about the Darkblood Assassins.
"Well that was refreshing, it has been a long time since I killed someone." Said Krisna as he stretched his body. Now he just wanted a nap.
"Now we're done here, we should get back to the city. We'll find some food to fill our stomach. After that, you do whatever you want."
They then started their journey back to the Nara City. It will take some time. But as soon as they got out from the forest, Adam will took out his motorcycle and use it to get to the city quickly.
Meanwhile, after Adam and Krisna left the scene, two people appeared. One of them was a man while the other is a woman. Unlike the resident of Nara Empire, these people doesn't have a bodypart that resembles an animal. The man have features like that of a normal human, while the woman have a long ear and a blonde hair—an elf.
"What... Happened here?" Asked the women, clearly terrified by the sight she was seeing. She already saw murder happen and participate in some war. But the thing she was seeing is too gruesome. She almost threw up her lunch when she saw all the scattered bodies.
"Clearly, a battle happened here. Perhaps these group of people is attacked by a dangerous beast, as seen by how this man died." Answered the man as he pointed at two bodies not far from him.
One of the bodies is split into three while the other one are ripped into two. A gruesome sight indeed.
The man then approached one of the body that's still intact. He tried to find the identity of the body in front of him.
'Weird, why all of them wear a mask over their face?' The man asked to himself. Then his eyes scanned the finger of the dead man. On the dead man index finger, a ring could be seen. There was a curved blade craving in it. Then the man realised—these people are part of the Darkblood Assassins.
"These people are assassins, the Darkblood Assassins." Said the man breaking the silence while he stood up.
"Darkblood Assassins!? These people are Darkblood Assassins!?"
"Yes, no need to be so surprised. You've fought againts them before. So why are you being surprised?"
"No, it just surprised me why we would find assassins from Darkblood Assassins lying dead in here. You know that they're an organisation filled with elite assassins—even if it's just a branch. So what kind of beast could kill them? If I remember correctly, the strongest beast near the Nara City is at Sky level! So it was impossible for beast to kill them!"
"But look at how they died, these people got their body slashed with a claw, what other creature can do that beside a beast?" The man added, he folded his arms in front of his chest.
"You do realize this is Nara Empire, right? Country of the Demi-Human?"
The man almost slapped himself because of the embarrassment. How could he forget! This is the Nara Empire! The possibilty that there's a Demi-Human with wolves or lion bloodline killed these assassins are high! All these travelling made him can't think straight.
"Looks like you're tired." The elf laughed, she then patted the man shoulder.
"Now, we're already close to the Nara City, shouldn't we get going?"
"Ah, you're right. Let's move before night come."
The elf nodded and turned into a blur of shadow as she tan throught the forest, leaving the man behind. The man looked back for a while before he too disappeared quickly. Both of them heading to Nara City.
