Chapter 74: Hiatus Update
Hi readers,
I haven't given as many hiatus updates here compared to RoyalRoad, so I want to my readers here to have some idea what I've been up to.
In a nutshell, initially it was due to health (physically and mentally), then a new relationship, going on interview preparation for a remote data scientist job (which eventually I got after 3 months of hard work while maintaining a full time job and everything else), and I just started a M.S. program with Georgia Tech.
With the new job, there is a lot of new skills/technologies to pick up, so that's going to leech some time, and in the process, I became interested in game development, so I'm going hard on learning Godot and even learning how to draw (only drawn poor stick figures in my life).
In terms of when the next chapter is going to be out, I'm optimistically aiming for April, but could be May or June. Basically, I want to learn enough Godot to start coding my game, then code enough of it to be able to normalize my time between that, game dev, learning draw, gaming, relationship, writing, etc. I'm estimating that to take about 1-2 months including the learning process plus another 1-2 months for reviewing story materials and writing the next chapter.
That's assuming I don't have a major dramatic new roadblock like a major disaster, but this time there can be nothing left after I jumpstart game dev.
