Well, there was this time at a small town's Homecoming Sunday. They had a parade and one of the floats had a mechanical cow that was supposed to moo. But instead, it started making a really strange screeching noise. The people on the float were trying to fix it while the parade continued, and it was hilarious.
I remember at a college homecoming, there was a 'find the hidden treasure' event on campus. The 'treasure' was a small statue of the school's founder. Well, a group of students got so excited and competitive that they accidentally dug up a water pipe instead. Water started spraying everywhere and they were all slipping and sliding around. And during the homecoming carnival, there was a dunk tank. The dean of students agreed to be in it. But every time someone threw the ball, the mechanism wouldn't work properly, so he just sat there looking smug while the crowd booed and laughed.
One memorable story was when the preacher's dog got loose during the homecoming service. The dog ran up on the stage and started barking at the choir. The preacher tried to catch it but ended up slipping and falling, much to the amusement of the congregation.
There was a Sunday when I visited an open - air market. There was a lady selling hats. A gust of wind blew and all the hats flew off the table. She chased after them, slipping on a banana peel that was on the ground. She managed to catch a few hats but ended up in a rather comical pose. The whole scene was very funny and it made my Sunday a lot more interesting.
At a school's Homecoming Sunday event, there was a pie - eating contest. One student was so eager to win that he shoved the whole pie into his mouth at once. But then his cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk's and he couldn't swallow. His friends were laughing so hard that they nearly fell off their seats.
There was a match where the weather was really bad. The pitch was muddy and slippery. Harry Redknapp's team was struggling a bit. One of his players slipped and slid right into the goalpost. Redknapp joked that he was trying to hug the post instead of the ball. This made the other players laugh and lifted the mood. They then managed to turn the game around. It shows how Redknapp could use humor in difficult situations.
I remember a time at Taco Bell when a couple was arguing about whether the new taco flavor was good or not. The guy was all for it and the girl was completely against it. They were getting really loud and the guy ended up taking a huge bite of his taco and making a really silly face to prove his point. Everyone around them couldn't stop laughing.
In 2020, my local community organized a drive - by birthday parade for a 90 - year - old neighbor. The cars were all decorated with balloons and signs. But one car's balloons got loose and started flying all over the place. It was chaos but also really funny. It made the old man laugh a great deal.
One memorable one is about a man who left his beloved old hat to his parrot in his will. The parrot would then perch on the hat and cackle as if it knew it was now the owner of this special hat.
Well, there's a story where a person called 911 because their ice cream cone melted too fast. They were so distraught over losing their treat that they thought it was a major crisis. Another is when someone called because their cat was stuck on the roof, but the cat came down right as the firefighters arrived. It was hilarious.
The one where a cat got stuck in a box and thought it was being sneaky while everyone could see it. It was quite funny.
