Having crossed to Tokyo sixteen years ago and just entered from a small fishing village in Hokkaido to study, Haruka Yuzan had managed, thanks to the... System's efforts, to own a large villa for himself in the bustling area of Shinjuku Ward.

Author if I may make a suggestion. Instead of him paying ascendants in dollars, it may be better to pay in gold, precious gems and precious metals. You can try in the later chapters for mercenaries asking payments in these forms. First this is a supernatural world, so dollars may not be needed except if they want to do transactions in the human world.
"Are you sure you can cover all of this?" she asked, her tone calm but edged with concern. "Before we left Mr. Halen's office, the total already exceeded five billion dollars. That's just for the initial fees and payment for at least two hundred Ascendants. The final price will depend on their ranks and any additional equipment or resources Mr. Halen can provide."

But Mr. Halen, hearing Lena's praise, waved a hand dismissively and laughed. "Oh, please, Lena! You always make me sound scarier than I am!" No really he is stupid. He is a banker and he cannot even prepare properly for this trip. By the way you wrote this story, it seems mediocre to me. This is just a basis for face slapping but in reality he would have gotten a bad review and would have been kicked out of the sect. Please try to be reasonable in writing your stories because I am not going to waste golden tickets or FP's with a sub par story.
The idea of buying a sword hadn't even crossed his mind once, as he was all day busy cultivating.
