yep, we was indeed a lawyer before he died.
'While that steak and those mashed potatoes looked delicious, I cannot take any chance that this guy might drug me. He may act all nice and friendly, but he is a snake waiting to strike when his prey is vulnerable. I trialed a lot of guys just like him back on Earth for sexual assault and I know he would do anything to accomplish his goal.'

This was also the first reason I thought of, when it was stated that he had no intention of killing him. Money is the most important. 😛
Killing Melodeon, then who should he ask the 10,000 gold coins from?

Zhu Xiaotian is such an arrogant and whiney brat. Hope Li Yu absolutely crushes him.
I heard it only gets worse.
I also find that the plot is a little thrown together. The plot was sort of alright for the first 5 chapters, but after that it started to not make sense.
I also found how quickly he was healed kind of abrupt. The author could have used such a defining trait to make the story more interesting and the character more developed. Instead they just threw it away almost immediately.
I first found this book when it was free for 24 hours. The first 5 chapters were pretty ok, they were introducing the character and the system, as well as some details about the world. It also highlighted the beginning of his adventure towards power, his goals and motivations, which was great. It starts going down hill when he meets the boar orc, the second rare grade creature. At one point in the story it says that ordinary objects can't harm these beast and then he ends up killing the monster with a tree. I also have to mention that the fight scenes are pretty poorly described, I'm never able to get a picture of what's going on, I was only able to glean that he fought, got somewhat hurt and in the end somehow killed it with a tree. There are also some parts that I find really ridiculous, like when for some reason he feels the need to con someone who cared about him or the fact that a character just blurts out all his thoughts and worries to someone he deems a stranger. In reality people don't just blurt out the whole truth of their problems to others who they meet for the first time, at most they would give a vague outline of what's wrong. The character is also pretty dumb, at one point he goes on a tirade about how despicable others hiding information about their powers is, when he's also going to end up doing the exact same thing, it's kind of common sense to keep important information to yourself. Overall, the concept and beginning is good, it's just... everything else that's not great. Too many inconsistencies and nonsense.
And by strangle the dude, I mostly mean the mc. Though I do feel that the author should get someone to look over his work because there are a lot of writing mistakes and there have also been some inconsistencies with the story and some really cringe parts included in the plot.
Did you mean by choking on food?
For a moment, the entire banquet seemed to have formed a boundary line. On one side were the nobles, who were elegantly chatting, and on the other side was Eli, who was gobbling down large chunks of food.
