Megatron's eyes widened in anticipation as he saw dozens of Minicons in front of him, some taking on a geometric shape or simulating some unknown animal, but all clearly inactive, as if in a coma or hibernation.
As small as they were compared to the average Cybertronian, they had the ability to greatly enhance anyone's combat capabilities; some even had special abilities that are not easy to find or replicate these days.
Megatron grabbed one of them with his hand and watched it carefully, hoping to find something that would awaken it. "Dreadwing, I thought they would be awake by now."
"These minicons were recently created by Allspark, their sparks are very new." Dreadwing apologized, understanding his master's disappointment. "Newly created minicons can only be awakened by connecting with another bot or waiting for them to awaken on their own. So it would be advantageous to find candidates to connect with in hopes of awakening them."
Megatron snorted, put the Minicon in his hand on the ground, and went to check the others to see if any of them could be awakened by his presence. [So many Minicons in my possession, but none of them are any use to me unless they are activated].
Soundwave approached, showing no interest in seeing the Minicons, only being there in case Megatron gave him an order. His eyes scanned the room, seeing these small creatures with unimaginable military potential.
However, he suddenly felt something very strange that made him look in different directions, searching for what was bothering him. It was like an electrical sensation that made his senses of touch and hearing more sensitive. He moved his head from side to side, trying to identify the source of this strange sensation, and with each passing second, it seemed like an electric current was running through his nerves.
"Is there a problem, Soundwave?" Dreadwing asked, noticing that the Decepticon's silence seemed agitated, something rarely seen.
Megatron looked back and noticed how uncomfortable Soundwave looked. He didn't understand at first, but a small idea came to him that might answer such a rare reaction from Soundwave. "Soundwave, enter this room, perhaps fate has given you a gift."
Soundwave paid attention to Megatron's words, but because of this disturbance in his senses, he did not reach the reasoning to understand the true meaning, so he just nodded. The moment his foot crossed the room, he felt an even stronger electric current, and suddenly one of the Minicons, which appeared to be a cassette tape, transformed into a small eagle and took flight, seeming not to mind the small space it was moving in, surprising the three Decepticons with its awakening.
Megatron's eyes remained fixed on the newly awakened Minicon as the small bird let out a high-pitched, shrill scream before casually landing on Soundwave's shoulder.
"It's awake! That's amazing." Dreadwing couldn't help but be surprised at something so unexpected.
Megatron noticed that the little Minicon seemed somewhat mesmerized as he stared at Soundwave's face, and the same went for Soundwave, who did the same, as if they were both in a telepathic conversation. He couldn't help but notice that the little bird was covered in purple armor and its eyes glowed blue, but the main feature that caught his attention was how sharply sharpened its feathers were for aerodynamic flight. "Congratulations, Soundwave, on winning a Minicon."
Soundwave looked at Megatron and nodded, clearly feeling his Spark connected to the little Minicon, who seemed to be exploring the room, seeing the world for the first time with his eyes. The feeling was strange and satisfying at the same time, as if he was gaining an extra sixth sense, as if something that was missing was being filled.
"Soundwave, what are your Minicon's abilities?" Dreadwing asked, knowing that Soundwave had just received a significant upgrade to his abilities and arsenal.
Soundwave turned to face Dreadwing, his face revealing a single word, the meaning of which was easily understood with a little attention: [Laserbeak]
Megatron and Dreadwing easily understood the meaning of the word Soundwave revealed to them: it was the name of the Minicon who would now be bound to him for the rest of his life.
"Regardless of what abilities Laserbeak gives Soundwave, this is another victory for the Decepticons." Megatron felt a certain satisfaction that at least one Minicon had been awakened, and more importantly, that he had connected with one of his most trusted allies. It would be a headache if any Decepticon or other unknown bot were lucky enough to acquire such power, for it would be a threat to his plans.
Soundwave sent a telepathic command to Laserbeak, and as expected, the small Minicon transformed, taking on a less expressive bird-like form and quickly attaching itself to his chest as if it were armor in the region of his spark.
"Dreadwing, as soon as your brother is repaired, you and he will transport the rest of these Minicons to a secure area so we can keep an eye on them." Megatron ordered, expecting to be able to use these little creatures as useful tools in the future.
"Yes, Master Megatron."
