章節 23: Chunin Exam Preliminaries
All the Konoha teams—Sand Nin and Oto Nin—were standing in the arena, listening to Hiruzen give his speech.
I was tuning him out, not wanting to hear this.
He called out Sasuke Uchiha versus Yoroi.
We all went to the stands to watch the match.
Hayate:begin!
Sasuke had ended the match by copying Lee's move and naming it the Lions Barrage.
Naruto Uzumaki vs. Kiba Inuzuka
Kiba grinned cockily. This will be a breeze.
I walked down, sighing, and said, "Do you want to surrender before this humiliation I give you?
Kiba scoffed. What are you talking about? Deadlast, start the match, proctor.
Hayate: begin!
Kiba smirked and said, "Watch me end this with one punch."
He tried punching me with a sloppy punch, which I blocked, and then countered by sending a leaf hurricane, sending him flying into the wall and making spider web cracks.
I scratched my head and said, "I think I put too much force on him; he is not getting up from that."
Everyone was looking at me, stunned, not believing what they saw because I was some weakling in their eyes.
I walked up to the stand, waiting for the next match, while the medics took Kiba to heal.
The next match was shown.
Shino versus Zaku
I gave Shino a nod, giving him good luck, and he nodded back and walked to the arena.
He ended the match by filling the holes in Zaku's arms with his insects.
Kankuro versus Tsuguri
Kankuro ended the match by revealing that he was hiding and that the thing Tsuguri was fighting was a puppet.
Sakura versus Ino
It was a disappointing fight. I hope they know this and start training to prevent it from happening again.
Tenten versus temari.
Temari destroyed Tenten with wind jutsu because she only used weapons and slammed her back on her fan.
Shikamaru versus Kin
Shikamaru won using his intelligence and connected his shadow using the string of her bell, ending the match.
Hinata versus Neji
Neji won the match violently, but when she got back up, he was angry and tried to strike her again but was stopped.
Gaara versus Rock Lee
This was the most exciting match, with it being an intense battle, but Lee was defeated, with his leg getting crushed by Gaara's sand.
Dosu versus Chouji
Dosu defeated Chouji because of his limited arsenal.
Anko had given us papers to choose from and named their fights in the finals.
Naruto versus Neji

Sasuke versus Gaara
Kankuro versus Shino
The third hokage then explained about the one-month training to get stronger for the finals.
I went to Kakashi. He was about to say he couldn't train me, but I interrupted him, saying, "I just came for jutsu; you could give me to learn for each element," and whispering, "Maybe Chidori."
Kakashi had given me the scroll with the list of jutsu, and then I left to go home to eat dinner since it was late.
