章節 78: Mysterious Person
Arden, Maverick and Alvin have reached the capital city, Atlan. All of them went through the city and to their destination, the local pub Arden is familiar with. Where his friend named Bam, work as a chef there. The one that took care of him when he was little.
The three of them venture through the city before Maverick say to Arden, "Sir, I think it's best for us to place the horses in the public stable"
That's when Arden realized, 'how stupid am I to forget about that thing, even my own squire remembers about normal things to do"
He, while trying to keep his cool, responded with, "Yea, let's do that"
The three of them began walking to the stable that is at the opposite of the direction of the local pub. Once they were done, the group continued making their way to their original destination.
After some time of walking, Arden and his group finally reached the local pub. It was like normal days. People gather and talk with each other while drinking the cheap delicious beers.
The three of them sat at the corner where it's rarely occupied by the visitors of the pub. The waitress recognized Arden and came to them, the very same waitress that served Arden when he last came to the pub.
That is almost 1 year ago when he accepted Maverick as his page and now hasn't turned14. He has yet to make him a real squire but could be called a squire for him.
She placed her mouth close to Arden's ear and whisper, "Do you want to order the secret menu, sir?"
Arden just smiled and said with his normal voice, "Yes please, I would like to order 3, don't let Bam meet me, I don't want to bother him at this time"
The waitress then push herself away from Arden and asked, "Is there anything else you want, sir?"
He thought for a bit before answering that question, "I would like 2 room prepared for me up stair please"
The waitress then went on her way to tell the kitchen staff and Arden, Maverick and Austin are left alone. He looked at his squire and page before realizing the exciting face of Austin.
As he is confused about the expression showed by Austin at his face. He bluntly asks him, "Why are you so excited?"
Austin looked around before answering, "Of course I'm excited! This city is so big and so lively, it is not like the City of Etria and more like the place people would want to be"
Arden says to himself after hearing, 'I actually forgot this is the first time he came here, of course, he has that kind of expression as a kid!'
He quickly says, "Yea, they do that"
All three of them wait patiently for the food to come, that's when Maverick asked him, "Sir, why don't we stay at my father's place?"
He immediately does a facepalm before saying, "Why I keep forgetting things? Is there something wrong with me?"
That's when a person approached their table, His face was hidden by a cloak and his voice is very heavy and fragile. He softly says, "Young man, I could tell you what is happening with you right now, but I'll require 1 Auren"
He softly giggled before Arden turned to him after hearing what he said. He took out an Auren from his money bag and gave that person 1 Auren from the 70 Aurens he brought with him.
Maverick and Austin say at the same time, "Sir! Don't do that, what if this guy is a con man, you will lose your money"
The person in the cloak quickly responded with, "Haha, don't worry, I'll give you back the money if you are not satisfied"
Maverick and Austin looked at him in doubt before whispering to each other. The two of them discuss it and say to Arden, "If you run away with it, we will catch you!"
All this when Arden's mind is filled with fighting between the 2 sides, 'Should I give the mysterious person or not?'
As his mind turned into the one noblemen have, he said to himself, 'Why not? It's not like 1 Auren is that much money for me'
That's when the man in cloak immediately says to him, "Hoho, young man! Don't think about that! You will become evil slowly and waste your money on something not important! How about this, I'll follow you on your journey to reclaim back your thro… I-i mean your mind!"
He looked at the mysterious person under the cloak and thought to himself about the man, 'Can this person read my mind or something? I should ask him!'
Even before Arden opened his mouth, the person under that cloak answered his question, "Hahaha, I can actually, you are the Baron of Aselwey, I actually have some business with your wife, I will follow you from now on, hahaha"
He closed the words that came from his mouth with a giggle, Arden stared at him amazed and looked at him as the person under the cloak grabbed a chair and sat on it.
"Now, what happened to you is actually a secret of this world, the strong, righteous and chosen people would get reincarnated and the evils would go to nether or you could say it hell, you are one of the ones that get reincarnated," Arden listened to the man's words and couldn't believe such thing existed.
He asked himself in his mind, 'So, what is wrong with me?'
The mysterious person continues his words, "you may ask what is wrong with you, there is always a chance that the one the get reincarnated recover their memory, a very small percentage if I may say. Your previous mind is trying to get into your real mind now and once you die, all of that memory would rush back into you! Now, they keep trying to get into you, so it's normal if you forget something"
Arden stared at him in disbelief. His thought is mixed with all the things that his mind couldn't process. He said to the man under the cloak, "So, that is the answer? Thank you for telling me this, I could give you a room at my castle for you to stay"
The person didn't respond anything but behind that cloak, Arden knew he was smiling and happy to be accepted. That's when the person responded with, "Thank you, I'm very happy now as you can guess it"
He was amazed again seeing the person under the cloak did his trick once again. That's when the food came to their table, the same waitress that took their order placed the food in front of them and asked, "I saw a new person, do you want another meal for this good man right here?"
Arden stared at his food with his mouth open and slowly began watering. He sends the waitress away with his hand while saying, "yea yea, bring one more of the same meal to this table"
The waitress went away to prepare for the order while Maverick, Austin and Arden is still staring at the delicious food, ready to eat some good foods after a few days of eating the dried fish and other things.
The 2 young boys were about to dive into their foods but quickly stopped by their lord, "Hey! Don't start eating first, wait for the food of this gentleman to come"
The 2 of them quickly back away from the food and their smile disappears in seconds. All of them waited for all the food to come before start eating their dinner.
After a few minutes of some small conversation, the food comes and they start eating immediately. All of them except the person under that cloak ate their food below 3 minutes.
The person under the cloak took his time and ate them with calm and style. He wastes 10 minutes at it and leaving the 3 of them waiting for him to finish.
It was not a problem for the three of them though, as Arden went to the counter and cancelled the room he was ordering. While giving them 25% of the price of the room and apologizing continuously.
After he came back to the table, the mysterious man has finished his food and the 4 of them proceed to go to Theo's house.
They walked around the town for a few minutes before reaching the house. Arden knocked at the door and Theo opened it.
Immediately after that, Theo rushed out of his house and hugged his son for a few seconds while not a single person commented about.
He then proceeds to let them enter the house while rushing to the kitchen and make teas for them while all 4 of them proceed to enter the house.
As Arden was about to close the door, he heard a familiar voice shouting at him. It was the screeching, uncomfortable to hear voice from the Karen he met in his own land.
