"I feel like you guys have been acting secretive lately."

As soon as Albert entered the dormitory, he noticed that Fred and George, who had been whispering to each other, suddenly fell silent. It was clear that there was something they didn't want him to know.

"And you have the nerve to say we're acting secretive?" George rolled his eyes at Albert, restraining the urge to mock him.

"Yeah, that's right!" Fred nodded in agreement, showing their tacit understanding.

"What were you talking about just now?" Albert asked in return.

"Guess."

"Could it be that you're planning to find Gryffindor's secret treasure?" Albert looked at them suspiciously, not forgetting about that Gryffindor treasure map.

"Well, are you coming with us?" Lee Jordan asked.

"You traitor," Fred grumbled unhappily, waving his fist at Lee Jordan.

"With Albert's help, our chances of success will be greater. The Forbidden Forest is not very safe," Lee Jordan disagreed with the twins' viewpoint. In his opinion, Albert was more reliable than the two of them.

"Better not!" Albert shook his head in refusal. "I think you should stay out of the forest. Hagrid seems really angry, be careful not to get detention."

"I told you he wouldn't be interested," George muttered. "As long as we're not caught by Hagrid when we enter the forest, it'll be fine."

"I knew you'd say that, but don't go too deep. There's reportedly a breeding ground for Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest. Be careful not to end up as spider food," Albert casually reminded them, unsurprised.

"You don't have to say anything, no one takes you for a mute," Fred complained, displeased. This guy was uncannily accurate when it came to mentioning bad things.

"Fine." Albert took out McGonagall's notebook from his pocket and started flipping through it.

"What's that?" George leaned over and asked.

"It's a notebook borrowed from Professor Brode. It's about Ancient Runes," Albert flipped through a few pages and found a letter from Professor Brode to McGonagall pasted inside. Did McGonagall know Professor Brode from a long time ago?

"Seems like that Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is quite fond of you," Lee Jordan sounded a little jealous.

"We do have a good relationship."

"No, it's not just good, it's frighteningly good," George corrected him.

"Oh." Albert nodded, indicating that he understood.

However, Albert believed that the relationship between the two of them depended on the exchange of knowledge. When two people who were equally skilled in Ancient Runes communicated, the older one would offer some helpful assistance to the younger one.

Just as Professor McGonagall had said, keeping friendly correspondence with those famous wizards, and he and Professor Brode had taken it a step further.

After all, there was also the relationship between professor and student.

From this notebook, it was not difficult to see that the relationship between Professor Brode and McGonagall was similar to his own situation. The notebook contained discussions about Ancient Runes from their correspondence and other relevant content from letters with other wizards.

This part of the content was not too difficult for Albert, but it was intriguing and expanded his horizons.

In the latter half of the notebook, which covered several years, McGonagall had already graduated from Hogwarts.

McGonagall wrote about suddenly being informed of a special identity and gaining access to a pile of ancient texts, starting to learn some ancient spells.

"A special identity?" Albert continued reading.

McGonagall had already begun to master the pronunciation of ancient spells in Ancient Runes.

"I can feel its uniqueness!"

That's what McGonagall wrote in the notebook.

"It's late, aren't you going to sleep?" Fred grumbled groggily, "Be careful not to oversleep tomorrow."

"I'm going to sleep too, goodnight." Albert stifled a yawn, turned off the lights, and fell into a deep sleep on his bed.

The next day, when Albert woke up, it was already ten o'clock in the morning.

The others in the dormitory had already left. Albert stretched lazily, leaned against his pillow, and picked up the unfinished notebook from last night to continue reading.

McGonagall had started exploring some ancient magic, and while the spells were powerful, they weren't very intricate.

The notebook listed the names of the spells but didn't provide the incantations or wand movements, which left Albert a little disappointed.

The next few pages mentioned this aspect and McGonagall's speculations on the uniqueness of Ancient Runes.

From the notes, it was clear that McGonagall had been researching and exploring the special aspects of Ancient Runes, but without any significant findings.

Albert noticed something interesting. In the exchange of letters between McGonagall and Dumbledore, they mentioned Dumbledore's request for the assistance of a guardian spirit.

Unfortunately, there was no further information, and the subsequent notes didn't mention it either. Moreover, the notebook ended there, indicating that there might be another one.

"I can feel its uniqueness?" Albert quickly got up and headed to Professor Brode's office.

Sure enough, McGonagall was there, but he looked a bit weary.

"Did you finish reading it?" McGonagall noticed Albert holding his notebook.

"Yes, I finished it, but I'm afraid I didn't find what I was looking for. Is there another half of the notebook?" Albert asked tentatively.

"No, there isn't." McGonagall shook his head.

"No more?" Albert was momentarily stunned. The other party actually said there was no more?

"Well, I was just joking." McGonagall smiled and said, "But it's true that there's no more. You have to understand, why is hieroglyphic writing considered a magical script?"

"Are you saying that magical power is infused into it during the carving process?" Albert offered his own conjecture.

"Yes, but also no." McGonagall said softly, "I can't tell you the real answer because my understanding is based on my comprehension of Ancient Runes. If you can't reach that level, it's hard to understand and use it."

Albert fell silent, listening quietly as McGonagall continued.

"You need to be proficient in the use of hieroglyphic writing, have a solid foundation in powerful magic, and be skilled in the use of ancient spells," McGonagall said. "These are the three stages I went through."

"The first step, you've already achieved, but your magical power isn't strong enough, and you're not familiar enough with the magic of Ancient Runes. However, you're fortunate to have touched that threshold, so crossing it won't be too far away."

Albert twitched the corner of his mouth. He disliked this vague explanation.

You're not a fortune teller.

Just explain things clearly to me!

Otherwise, it would be better to invest the experience into the skill of Ancient Runes and directly raise it to Level 3. Then there wouldn't be so much trouble.

At that moment, Albert suddenly remembered something. "Professor Brode, could you provide me with a letter of recommendation? I want to borrow books on Ancient Runes from the Restricted Section."

"Very well!" Professor Brode agreed surprisingly. He turned around and wrote on a parchment: "Permission granted to Mr. Albert Anderson to borrow books on Ancient Runes from the Restricted Section. - Bathilda Brode."

"Lucky me." Albert muttered to himself and left with the note written by Professor Brode.

"Why didn't you tell him?" Professor Brode asked curiously.

"What's the use? Haven't I told you before? He hasn't learned it yet and still thinks I'm fooling him." McGonagall glanced at Professor Brode and continued, "Albert is a genius. We just need to give him some guidance. You should trust your judgment."
