章節 138: The Camry Clan

The auction went on and on and people were bidding here and there on different items of different sizes. They ranged from little items like accessories, rare ornament and rare Jades to things as large as ancient statues.

The seventh item displayed for auctioning was a full set a armory, it was later sold for a whooping 7000 gold coins. It was sold to one of the VIP's in the 12th boot.

The eight item was Ben's Meteorite Stone. When it made its appearance many old and experienced blacksmith all turned to their pockets and sponsors demanding they get that rock. It was with the entrance of this item those in the VIP area really joined the fun. To the regulars downstairs this is what they've been waiting for.

The moments these tyrants squander so much money. And this fist sized navy-blue stone was just the starting show for them.

"For our eighth item, this is indeed a Blue quality Meteorite Stone. Used in the art of stone crafting and Blacksmithing. This item only came in today and that is why it is not in our brochure for the days program. The House is glad to announce that this is the biggest Blue quality Meteorite Stone seen for the past one hundred and six years and the fourth Meteorite Stone Lion's Beard will be auctioning. We believe that only the Royal dwarves would have one of this size and more. The Meteorite Stone us used to make nearly indestructible armour and weapons and more. The Meteorite Stone is known to only be seen through luck and cannot be sought after." Bartoli paused to take a sip of water before going on. "The starting bid is 15,000 gold coins and will be increased with 1000 gold coins for each bid."

"16,500!" an old man's voice came from a booth on Ben's left.

"18,000!" another voice came from the booth opposite Ben's.

"19,500!" the elderly man topped.

"21,000!" a young lady said but this time the voice came from downstairs.

Everyone downstairs and up alike were amazed by who it was that had the audacity to dare go up against the VIP's. One should know that any who is able to acquire at least one VIP Pass is either an extremely influential or wealthy person to begin with. Either that or they must have a strong backing out background.

"22,000!" the old man topped.

"23,000!" another boot called.

"24,000!" the old man bid again trying by all means to get the Stone.

"25,000!" the woman from downstairs bid again.

People couldn't contain it any longer. They knew that if you have be the money you can obviously bid for whatever you want, but there was an Unspoken rule that has been passed around about bidding against the VIP's. When the VIP's bid for something and you try to outbid then, those downstairs, you are challenging those upper class citizens. Some would say it is suicidal to do so.

"Young lady, I would like to bring this Meteorite Stone back to the Camry clan in the duchy of Orwell to work on an extremely important project that we have which cannot be interrupted. I ask that you stop and let us take it with us, our Camry clan will pay you as a sign of our gratitude. Pardon me for my bluntness, you can understand the situation with us being less political, Miss..."

"Ohhh!" Even an idiot could find out the meaning written within his words and understand what was going on here. The famous, brutal Camry Clan is trying to use their authority, name and position to pressure the woman to give up the bidding.

"30,000." a calm voice came from booth on the right side of the Camry's.

In the Camry booth the middle aged man was red with anger. Was that person deaf or what? Didn't he just hear him lay a threat with that woman who is capable forking out that amount of wealth all by herself? He didn't know how else to handle the situation with another VIP without incurring a small fight. But then again, the Camry's are not one to be trifled with.

The only way to be a little civil with another VIP would be to outbid them.

"31,500!" the man gritted his teeth and said. If chasing the guy away with upping the bid then he'll have to use other means.

"33,000!" Ben added.

"34,500!" the man from the Camry clan added again before saying, "Mr. why can't we discuss this at a later time, after all the Camry clan can give you something of the same value. I hope we can come to an understanding agreement." the man's voice became colder the more he spoke. This time he was no longer hiding the fact that the Camry clan was openly threatening someone from the VIP area like themselves. The Camry was trying to pressure a VIP like he was not worth their time.

"Hmm, this may be my first time here, but I've been hearing that the Lion's Beard is a very rule abiding House and a very fair place. By what I am seeing that's not what I pictured. And human from the Camry clan you should know who you try to threaten with your meager strength." all those downstairs looked at boot 6.

"What senior said is true. I remember that you are allowed to buy any item as long as you have the money to out bid an opponent, but the oppression...?" the woman seeing that someone was standing by her said. Although she wore a one piece purple dress that dragged its way on the ground and a wide white hat obstructing those from the booths above to not be able to see her face, but those below could see a gentle smile. It made all of them think one thing. Captivating.

"Representative of the Camry clan, the Lion's Beard will not condone your actions if you continue to persist with this intimidation and oppression. We wouldn't want what had happened last three years to repeat itself, do we?" the host, Miss Bartoli spoke from the podium when the customer brought the House into the fray by mentioning the House rules. With their involvement she said this with a very strict expression. "Now that that is out of the way, let's continue. 34,500 gold coins, is there anyone else..."

While Bartoli was busy giving out warnings to the Camry's, the woman downstairs who went against the Camrys kept looking at booth no. 6 with a questioning gaze. Why is that person helping her. She wondered. She felt as though she had met that person, but couldn't tell where or when.

Meanwhile in Ben's boot...

"Ben, are you nuts? That's the Camry we're talking about here. Why are you even going against a clan that powerful? What are you even thinking helping that woman? A stranger at that?" Vivi was on the verge of pulling her hairs off when she watched the exchange going on.

She knew very well that when it concerns those that call the shots, they were at the very bottom. So there was nothing that would make them in their right senses to go against or challenge those big dogs. It was typically the same as suicide, figuratively and literally.

"Who knows, we might need her help in the future. And don't tell me those Camry guys weren't annoying. Really Vivi, I don't go around stirring trouble but, if trouble comes, well... we will just have to talk about life by our next encounter." Ben said. With the warning over the bidding resumed. Ben pressed the button and spoke to the audience. "40,000! Representative of Camry, like usual, if you have the money you can outbid me."

"Very well! 40,000 gold coins! representative of the Camrys do you want to go higher?" however, no reply came from the booth she continued. "Anyone else going higher?! Going once and sold to booth no. 6! Congratulations." a very wide smile could be seen plastered on Bartoli's face, if she wasn't so pretty one would think she was a relative of the Cashier cat.

"Don't bother bringing it up to me. Hand it over to the lovely lady downstairs." Ben pressed the button and announced, then he said to the woman who had been bidding, he knew she really needed it. "Don't worry Miss, I don't have any use for that piece of stone."

Almost everyone in the Lion's Beard Auction House nearly choked in their own tongue or nearly puked out blood. His phrase 'have no use for THAT PIECE of STONE' angered so many people. Who the hell was that guy? people thought; Maybe, he really is a fresh fish like he had said.

The servant looked at Bartoli a little confused. Never have such an occurrence happened before. Fighting another VIP only to give that item away. What was the use of creating feuds with such a person? There was nothing she could do so she did as she was asked to do.

Nevertheless, the same friction on the air didn't stop the activity of the day. The next item for auctioning wasn't an object, but was a living person, to be more precise it was an elf.

A young female elf that looked like a fourteen or fifteen years old girl. Most shockingly about the 'item' was that she was blind, she hardly had enough clothes on her body to cover her yet-to-mature breast and private parts. Her green hair hung loosely over her thin, frail stature. She is to be sold as a slave!
