3.12% Pokemon: These Players are too annoying! / Chapter 2: Players

章節 2: Players

The system wasn't really that powerful.

Although it had a bit of the power of the Creation Trio and some from the Creator, using that power consumed a lot of energy.

Even though the system was created by Arceus and could be considered an unofficial fourth child, it was still just a system, and its mission was to assist the one chosen by Arceus.

Moreover, after using Dialga's power, the system was nearly out of energy and almost shut down.

To recharge, there was only one way:

That was through the people from another world, or to put it simply from their perspective, the players.

But too bad for system, their mind is very insane (in system perspective)

Their reputation was not good at all; the system had heard about this through Dialga and Palkia.

After all, the Creator had created many parallel universes, so someone had to govern them.

Dialga and Palkia had to work overtime managing those worlds.

Then, suddenly, their father, the Creator, wanted to summon the players.

At first, both of them complied, as the command from their father was paramount to them.

Unfortunately, it was too late to regret...

The players from the worlds they governed had unstable and abnormal mindsets.

They had encountered many people, including the best and the most wicked in the world.

But what they encountered now... was both foolish and insane.

They were willing to destroy an entire world just to retrieve a banana or to preach to them about a "god".

And that "god" was literally the penis of that guy.

It was precisely the instability and randomness of the players that drove both of them to the point of asking their father to stop.

...Unfortunately, the Creator had gone to sleep.

So both had to intervene in those worlds to prevent the players from causing destruction.

...Little did they expect that the players would see them as world bosses and use everything they had to defeat them.

In the end, both gave up; they could no longer reason with the players and abandoned those worlds altogether.

This might seem irresponsible, especially for the two children of the Creator.

But what could they do? They never thought the mindset and thinking of the players could be this unique.

Therefore, when the system was created and tasked with summoning the players by the Creator, Dialga and Palkia had warned extensively and shared the experiences they had accumulated from their encounters.

Fortunately, those worlds did not have Pokémon, because if they did, who knew what the players would do with them?

Just thinking about it sent a chill down the system's spine, leading it to consider that summoning players was no different from summoning many Giratina (the system had never encountered Giratina, only heard about it).

But a mission was a mission; even the Creator had awakened just to create it and assign it the task that Dialga and Palkia could not fulfill.

It was a relief that the chosen one was a talented individual, and the more talented they were, the stronger the system became.

This gave the system confidence to begin the player summoning phase immediately.

However, the players could not be underestimated, even if rules were placed upon them...

"I'm getting tired of these games…"

The young man with brown hair took off his virtual reality headset and sighed.

His name is Rey, 24 years old, an ordinary person with a regular job.

He enjoyed playing games, but he kinda toxic.

There were a few titles he had played over the past few years that had almost made him addicted.

Most of those games were produced by a company he had never heard of

Arceus Company.

Although many people had tried to find the company's address, they always hit a dead end, leading to it being regarded as a mysterious company.

Most of their games involved a virtual reality headset with technology far ahead of its time. When worn, players would instantly fall asleep, and their consciousness would be transferred to the game.

It sounded risky, but for the past few years, no one had died from it, so it could be considered safe.

And what about their games?

Chef's kiss.

They were delicious.

When players immersed themselves in these titles, the experience was so realistic that it felt like the real world.

If it weren't for the warning label in the corner stating not to play for more than 12 hours, they would have almost believed it entirely.

Unfortunately, these games lacked creativity and often relied on very generic themes like magic or something similar.

Moreover, ever since the two world bosses appeared and were driven away by the players (even though they didn't inflict any harm on the two deities),

those games stopped receiving updates, and other titles did as well.

The only exception was a horror game, which still received regular updates but wasn't popular, so few people played it.

And so, everything continued until today, with players abandoning those titles.

He too had given up, even though he was one of the veteran players there.

"I think I should look for a game to relax my mind…"

He turned on his computer and browsed the web to find a game he liked, but nothing caught his eye.

Sighing, he was about to shut down his computer and go outside to touch some grass when he paused.

"I should hope a little longer; after all, there's still plenty of time."

He clicked on the section for newly released games and refreshed the page.

"If nothing catches my eye, I'll give up."

At that moment, a game caught his attention.

"Pokémon?"

"Made by... ARCEUS COMPANY?!!" He shout

"Are you kidding me?!! They abandoned these games and developed this one?!"

Okay.

Rey's thoughts were quite simple; besides, the games they made were all very good, even though the content wasn't particularly creative.

Moreover, this game used a virtual reality headset, which meant it likely had quality on par with the previous titles (or so he assumed).

Moreover, the game cover was very well done, featuring a creature resembling an alpaca trapped in a golden ring, with striking red eyes that looked impressive. The darkness covered most of its body, making it even cooler.

"It's probably just another RPG where hunting monsters is the main focus, and the creature on the cover might be the final boss."

So he started to place his order but realized something was off.

[Since this is the Beta version, there is a limit on the number of players, so only those who are lucky enough to order early will receive the game for free, with a maximum of 5 players.]

Rey was the first to click the order button.

"Still in beta? If so, there might be bugs, and the content will probably be quite limited... but whatever, games are meant for entertainment. If it's not entertaining, I can just report it as a scam."

He didn't care much but had a rather mischievous mindset.

Once the download was complete, he put on the virtual reality headset and powered it on.

His consciousness began to fade away.

When he woke up, everything around him was pitch black.

"Bugs?"

Just as he was about to complain, a text appeared.

[Player Name:________]

Seeing this, he typed in the name [NTRslayer].

Then an avatar appeared, asking him to choose his desired appearance.

He skipped this, wanting to keep his real-life appearance in the game.

He clicked on [Start], and a blinding light made him shut his eyes.

Then he felt something he had intended to touch earlier.

Grass.

The sounds around him were very soothing; the cool breeze and the chirping of birds made him feel like he was in a dream.

He opened his eyes and looked around.

This time, he was quite surprised; the graphics of this game were just as realistic as the other titles from the company, but this place felt brighter and more serene, completely different from the darkness of those other games.

"HOLY FUCKING SHIT! This game isn't a scam!"

He was almost captivated by everything around him, as if he were in a magical land, until he noticed a figure standing in front of him.

A boy with black hair and red eyes, wearing a red hat and matching red outfit, carrying a yellow backpack.

But what Rey noticed the most was the boy's expressionless face.

"…Why do I feel like the person in front of me seems dangerous?"
