For a moment, he forgot how to breath. She was stunning. Her intense gaze seemed to draw him in. Suddenly, he blushed. He could feel himself getting red in the face. The blush started from his ears to his cheeks, and he felt an indescribable feeling that he had never felt before. They stared at each for a couple more minutes before the girl finally looked away. Surprisingly, she walked up to him until they were only two steps apart from each other.
"What's your name transfer student?" she curiously asked.
After a few moments of silence, he found his voice and replied, "Han."
"Han…Han hmm I like it. I'm Lia by the way. Nice to meet you!"
She grabbed his hand and shook it. Her soft touch surprised him, and he quickly retracted his hand. The girl looked surprised at his reaction, but didn't comment on it. She then continued to stare at him.
What's up with this girl, he thought. She was different from all the other girls who tried to catch his attention. Instead of whispering behind his back, she was direct and upfront. She also had a dangerous vibe to her, and she looked familiar, but he couldn't seem to figure it out. What he did know was that she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, and she was making him feel weird, which he did not like at all.
Because he didn't know how to handle what he was feeling, he abruptly walked past her and entered the building.
Hope I never see her again, he thought and looked for the main office to get his class schedule.
....
One of the office ladies named Mai directed Han to his homeroom. As he followed her up the stairs, his thoughts drifted to the beautiful girl he saw. He couldn't stop thinking about how it would feel to run his fingers through her long black hair, and how her intense gaze made him feel all weird inside.
Snap out of it! You don't have time for this, he scolded himself.
"Here you go young man. This is your class room. Just let me quickly talk to your teacher."
Mr. Shi walked towards them when he noticed Mai and the new student standing outside the classroom door.
"Hey Mr. Shi, this is Han. Han this is your homeroom teacher Mr. Shi."
"Hello Han! Welcome to XI High," Mr. Shi happily said and gave Han his biggest smile.
Han looked at the teacher and nodded. Mr. Shi's smile faltered when he saw anger flashed in the boy's eyes, but it passed so quickly he thought he probably imagined it.
Mr. Shi and Mai said their goodbyes, and he walked Han into the classroom.
The moment they walked in, the class quieted down and stared at Han. Han coldly stared back.
"Class, we have a new student and his name is Han," Mr. Shi announced.
"Hmm…let's see where you should sit. Ahh…yes! There's an empty seat right by the window over there in the last row."
The moment he said that, the entire class erupted.
"OMG, he has to sit next to her!"
"I feel so bad for him."
Han was confused, but he quickly caught on that the person he was going to sit next to did not have a good reputation. He ignored the loud chattering and walked to the back of the class to his desk. The moment his gaze landed on the person next to him, his jaws dropped and his eyes widened in disbelief.
It was her!
She was wearing headphones and laying her head on the desk with her face turned towards the window. Her long black hair was all over her and his desks. Han sat down, and the girl turned her head when she felt Han's movements. When she saw that it was Han, surprise flashed quickly across her face and disappeared. She then slowly gave Han a lazy, dangerous smile.
Shit, Han thought as he began to feel the indescribable warm feeling he got when he first saw her at the front of the school.
Throughout the school day, Han was accompanied by Lia. Everywhere he went, she went. During lunch, she was eating next to him. During break, she was resting next to him. She spoke a few words here and there, but other than that continued to stare at him throughout the day. He didn't find her bothersome, but he didn't particularly like her either. It was just a new feeling for him to have someone consistently next to him. Before he knew it, school was over and he suddenly remembered the reason why he came to XI High.
Fuck, he angrily thought. He was distracted all day by that girl that he forgot all about his mission.
He quickly opened his bag and brought out the documents to read while he waited for his ride. As he read the file containing information on the target's daughter, his breathing quickened and the documents crumpled under his clenched finger.
"Han!"
Han quickly snapped his head up to see Lia waving goodbye as her ride passed by.
Why was it her, he sadly thought as he unclenched his hands and looked at the files again. Written in large bolded letters were, Target's Daughter: Lia Jung, and attached was a picture of the girl with long black hair and bright amber eyes.
Even though it was only a day, he was already beginning to get used to the girl who made him feel indescribable feelings, so why did it have to be her? Han sadly questioned again.
