Now fully dressed, Lia sadly looked at Han. Earlier, when she caught him staring at her, she saw a glimpse of sadness and guilt in his eyes. It ached her heart to see him so sad and miserable. She knew something was going on with him because from time to time, there was a distant look in his eyes. During those times, no matter how hard he tried to hide it, she could see and feel his sadness and guilt. She wanted to take away his troubles, but it wasn't her place to interfere with the troubles he was going through. Her father always told her that one can't fight other people's battles for them, they must fight it themselves. So, no matter how much she wanted to take away his pain, it was up to Han to face his own troubles in order to learn and grow. Being there and supporting him was the only thing she could do and that frustrated her.
Instead of asking what was wrong, Lia stepped towards Han with her arms outreached and embraced him. She felt him stilled at the sudden contact, but then he immediately wrapped his arms around her and returned her hug. It was a while before they finally left, and she didn't say a word the entire time because sometimes it was best to not say anything and to just be there for the person who was hurting.
One day, you'll tell me, won't you? she wondered as she comforted him the only way she could. It wasn't until much later that she learned the reason why he was always so sad and guilty, and she would be consumed with those emotions as well. Sadness for what was done to her loved ones and guilt for not successfully killing Han.
As they left the boy's bathroom, Han intertwined his fingers with Lia's and walked a few steps ahead until they were no longer walking next to each other, but were walking with him in the front and her trailing from behind.
"Ahem…we should probably head back to class," Han said as he continued walking and pulling her along.
"…"
Lia was slightly puzzled by his words and actions until, she glanced at Han and noticed that the tips of his ears were bright red. The edge of her lips curled up, and she chuckled to herself. She thought it was cute that despite all they've done, he was still so easily embarrassed and shy about holding hands with her.
She abruptly stopped walking and roughly pulled Han's hand towards her, which made him fumbled around until he was facing her. The moment he faced her, she quickly leaned in and pecked him on his mouth.
"Let's go to my place instead," she said against his soft lips.
Sorry ya'll, this is a short chapter. Honestly, I'm having problems writing out this story, and I'm also going through some things right now. I contemplated whether I should continue writing this story or drop it, and I decided to continue it. It might take me a long time to update though :( I sincerely apologize to those who've been waiting patiently for updates. I'll continue to try my best, and I want to thank all my readers for supporting me. THANKS!!
