章節 209: Chapter 209: Amazon Lily: Oh No, Trouble!

Hancock tightly gripped the newspaper in her hand, her face filled with anger. "Not only that, but he also knows my secret!"

"Huh? Secret? Sister, do you mean…" Marigold's face turned pale.

"The secret on our backs." Hancock took a deep breath and continued, "He didn't see my back, yet he knows my secret. I suspect those two from Sabaody told him."

"What? He knows Uncle Rayleigh and Aunt Shakky?" Sandersonia asked in surprise.

Hancock nodded slightly.

Marigold asked worriedly, "Rayleigh and Shakky are our benefactors. With their character, they wouldn't tell anyone about our secret lightly. If they did tell him, then Takumi must be a trustworthy person. Sister, could this be a misunderstanding?"

"Misunderstanding?" Hancock sneered. "Everyone knows that Amazon Lily is a place where men are forbidden. Even the government agents, when they come with business, have to wait three kilometers offshore. What makes Takumi think he's special? Just because he knows Rayleigh and killed a Celestial Dragon, does he think that's a pass to visit Amazon Lily? How ridiculous."

Sandersonia's face darkened. "The island's rules can't be broken. If you can't handle him alone, Sister, then with Marigold and me together, I doubt that guy can walk away unharmed!"

"Exactly! And we have the Kuja Pirates and the kingdom's warriors too," Marigold clenched her fists. "Everyone on this island is a fighter. As long as you give the word, Sister, there's no way he's leaving Amazon Lily alive!"

At that moment, a servant came into the palace. "Lady Hancock, the wine and snacks prepared for you have arrived."

Hancock's sisters instinctively stood behind her on either side.

Hancock waved her hand dismissively.

The servant nodded and motioned toward the entrance. A group of women entered, each carrying a large red wooden box with handles.

One by one, they approached Hancock, opened the boxes, and presented the contents for her to choose from.

"These treats took everyone a long time to prepare," Sandersonia smiled. "They're all hoping you'll enjoy the snacks they made and the wine they brewed themselves."

Hancock glanced indifferently at the beautifully arranged snacks in the boxes, casually picking a small piece of flower cake, which she took a bite of before waving the servers away.

The women quickly closed their boxes and left.

Another server stepped forward, opened her box, and presented the contents.

After repeating this process with about ten women, Hancock had taken only three small snacks. When the twelfth woman approached and opened her box, it contained only a small box meant for wine.

"This is a ten-year-old vintage from Sister Brew's personal collection. We hope you'll enjoy it, Lady Hancock," the woman said cheerfully, holding out the wine box.

Hancock glanced inside the box, but it was empty. She sneered, "Are you mocking me?"

Whether she wanted the wine or not, no one who dared mock her could escape punishment.

"Huh?" The woman holding the box looked down and, seeing that it was empty, trembled in shock, dropping the box to the floor. "Lady Hancock, I don't know what happened! It must be a mistake. I'll go back right away and find out what went wrong. Please don't be angry!"

"Hmph, no need to ask," Hancock said coldly. "Anyone who dares challenge me has guts. Go and capture her!"

"What? Lady Hancock, please have mercy!" the woman pleaded bitterly.

Suddenly, Hancock adopted a pitiful expression.

Everyone in the room, except for her sisters, immediately had hearts in their eyes, saying excitedly, "Lady Hancock, we'll catch her right away!"

"Go now," Hancock waved them off.

Like they were greased lightning, the women bolted from the room.

Once they were gone, Hancock's face returned to its usual cold demeanor.

Sandersonia sighed, "Why did this have to happen while Sister is in a bad mood?"

Meanwhile, Lila had just returned to the tavern when she noticed the palace guards taking Sister Brew away.

Seeing her gloomy expression, Lila hurried after them, asking anxiously, "What's going on? Why are you taking Sister Brew?"

"Ugh, she was careless. She brought an empty box to Lady Hancock," someone explained.

"What will happen now? Disrespecting Lady Hancock is a serious crime…"

"Sister Brew might not escape punishment this time."

Hearing the murmurs around her, Lila froze.

An empty box?

Could it be…?

Her face paled. She pushed her way through the crowd, catching up to the palace guards escorting Sister Brew. As she walked alongside them, she said, "It's my fault! I took the wine! I didn't know it was meant for Lady Hancock. Please, don't hurt Sister Brew!"

"Huh? What are you talking about?" one of the guards asked, frowning.

Sister Brew glared at Lila. "Go home, kid. This is none of your business!"

"No! I made the mistake, not you. You shouldn't take the blame for me. Please, arrest me instead! I'm the one who took the wine meant for Lady Hancock. It's all my fault!" Lila's eyes filled with tears.

The palace guards exchanged uncertain glances.

They knew the consequences of disobeying Hancock.

And Lila didn't seem to be lying. But even though she was just a child, Hancock wouldn't spare her if she found out.

"Don't listen to her," Sister Brew said sternly. "I'm the one responsible. Take me away, now!"

The guards sighed and, ignoring Lila, led Sister Brew toward the palace.

Lila tried to follow them, but before she could get far, some townspeople stopped her.

"You shouldn't go. It won't help. Angering Lady Hancock is no joke."

"Just go home. It's only a bottle of wine. Lady Hancock probably won't have Sister Brew executed. She'll just get a light punishment. Why did you have to go and take her wine?"

"I…" Lila lowered her head in guilt, biting her lip, unable to say anything more.

When Takumi returned to the ship, he found a pile of food on the dining table near the kitchen, along with a beautifully decorated bottle of wine. Under the bottle was a note.

Takumi walked over, picked up the note, and glanced at the messy writing on it.

'I'm Lila. I didn't know what you like to eat, so I just brought whatever I could find. This bottle of wine is one of Sister Brew's best. I don't know if you'll like it, but I hope you do. I'll come back tomorrow morning, so don't run away like you did today, hehe~'

After reading the note, Takumi's eyes fell on the bottle of wine. He hesitated for a moment, then picked it up and uncorked it. A rich, fragrant aroma wafted out immediately.

The smell was pretty good.

Taking a sip, he then pulled out his wine gourd from his waist and poured the rest of the wine into it.

章節 210: Chapter 210: Amazon Lily: Then Let’s Die Together

That afternoon.

Takumi once again surveyed the entire Amazon Lily region. After confirming with Observation Haki that there were no ships approaching the Calm Belt within a certain distance, he reentered the only large town on the island.

As soon as he stood on the roof of a building, he noticed many people heading towards an area close to the palace, which resembled a coliseum.

Takumi remembered that it was the same place where Hancock would eventually plan to execute Luffy in the future...

After a moment of thought, Takumi joined the crowd heading toward the coliseum. Even though he didn't know what was happening, the fact that so many people were going there indicated that something important was about to take place. And perhaps it had something to do with his progression mission.

Even if he wasn't a fan of crowds, there were some events one couldn't afford to miss.

The coliseum.

It was a large, circular, open-air structure, with a round arena in the center. Four stone pathways led from the arena to four exits and seating areas. Surrounding the arena and walkways were deep, spiked pits.

At this moment, the audience seating around the coliseum was already packed with people.

On the eastern side, a three-story cylindrical building stood. At its top, Hancock sat in her exclusive seat, looking coldly at Sister Brew, who was kneeling on the arena platform, bound by two large black snakes.

Hancock's two tall sisters stood beside her.

Initially, the situation wasn't too severe—just a missing offering.

But ever since Hancock had become the Empress of Amazon Lily, no one had ever defied her. What happened today was unprecedented. Even though the missing offering wasn't a big deal to her, she wouldn't tolerate anyone daring to mock her authority. Intentional or not, that person had to pay.

The audience remained silent, anxiously waiting for Hancock to pass judgment on Sister Brew.

The atmosphere was tense.

Hancock stared coldly at Sister Brew and asked, "Tell me, for what reason did you dare to mock me?"

Sister Brew raised her head, her face showing her discomfort. "Lady Hancock, I didn't mean to. But I made a mistake, and I'll take full responsibility. This was all my fault. Please, Lady Hancock, don't punish the others at the tavern. I'm willing to bear all the consequences myself."

"Hmph." Hancock sneered and said coldly, "Since you admit your guilt, I'll spare you from the gallows. But you'll still face execution. Bring out the blade."

The blade she referred to was similar to a guillotine, designed to give the condemned a quick and relatively painless death.

The crowd surrounding the coliseum gasped in shock.

Some even began pleading for Sister Brew's life.

"Lady Hancock, please show mercy! Sister Brew is a first-time offender. Please forgive her."

"Yes, she didn't do it on purpose. The death penalty is too harsh. Please, Lady Hancock, spare her life."

"Lady Hancock, we beg you! Please show leniency for Sister Brew!"

As more people started to plead, the entire coliseum slowly became filled with voices begging for Sister Brew's life.

Even Hancock's sisters began to feel uneasy.

"Perhaps we could give her another chance?" Marigold whispered to Hancock.

Hancock's voice turned icy. "No. I already said she must die, and die she will. If I let her go just because it's her first offense, what authority will I have? If I pardon her now, the next person will think they can get away with mocking me. Where would my authority be then?"

This was why Hancock had opted for a public execution. She wanted to make an example out of Sister Brew to prevent future defiance.

No matter what she did, people would always forgive her. Even if it involved killing, they wouldn't hold it against her.

Hancock rose from her seat, her gaze sweeping over the audience seated around the coliseum. She lowered her eyelids, softly biting her right thumb, her expression looking pitiful. "Am I in the wrong?"

The sight of her in such an endearing, vulnerable state caused the audience to erupt in excitement.

"Ahhh! Lady Hancock, I love you!"

"Lady Hancock, you can do no wrong! If anyone dares to mock you, I'll be the first to stand against them!"

"We love you no matter what, Lady Hancock!"

Hearing the cheers of the crowd, Hancock smirked as she sat back down, waving her hand. "Proceed with the execution."

Two muscular women stepped forward, carrying a large guillotine with snake carvings, placing it in front of Sister Brew.

"Do you have any last words?" Hancock asked coldly, staring down at Sister Brew.

Sister Brew smiled bitterly and shook her head.

Not far behind Hancock, atop one of the tall buildings.

Takumi sat there, watching the proceedings in the coliseum indifferently.

He wasn't entirely sure about the details of the person being executed.

However, what happened next caught his attention.

Just as the snake-themed guillotine was raised and the two women began preparing to position Sister Brew's head beneath the blade, someone finally broke the silence.

From the audience, Lila, her face streaming with tears, stood up and shouted, "Lady Hancock, I'm the one who stole the wine! Sister Brew had nothing to do with it! I didn't know it was meant for you. It's all my fault! Please, don't kill Sister Brew!"

Hancock's gaze coldly shifted toward Lila.

Lila immediately ran down from the audience, heading toward the center of the coliseum where Sister Brew was.

Some in the audience tried to stop her, but she broke free from their grasp.

Sister Brew's face turned pale as she yelled, "This has nothing to do with anyone else! I did it! Lady Hancock, kill me quickly!"

"No, I stole it!" Lila rushed to the platform, kneeling beside Sister Brew, and pleaded with Hancock. "Lady Hancock, it's my fault! I swear I'll do anything you ask, just please, spare Sister Brew!"

Hancock gazed indifferently at the two kneeling before her, her heart unmoved by Lila's youth or tears.

"You say you stole the wine. Do you have proof?" Hancock asked with a sneer.

Sister Brew looked at Lila, shaking her head in panic. "No, don't say anything!"

Lila sobbed, "The wine bottle had a beautiful decoration, with three snakes carved on it. The stopper was golden. I didn't open it, so I don't know what it tasted like, but I remember the bottle's design perfectly."

"No, that's not right! It wasn't like that!" Sister Brew's voice trembled. "Lady Hancock, she's lying! This has nothing to do with her. If someone must die, let it be me!"

"Please stop protecting me!" Lila cried. "It's all my fault, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I don't want you to die…"

"Enough." Hancock grew impatient. "This is getting tiresome. Since you both want to claim responsibility, then you can die together!"
