* In Musutafu Kindergarten
3rd Pov
We can see a young boy around 5 years old with hair as black as night and eyes blue like the deep sea, sitting outside, while other children are playing, some look different and seem to have physical mutations.
"Hey Dante, want to play tag with our group." Said one boy who has extremely long legs.
"Sure Rick, let's play." Said, Dante.
Dante-Pov
Me, Rick, and the others are resting after playing tag for 5 minutes.
"Hey Rick, no fair how can we have fun if you have a quirk that makes you fast," I said while looking at Rick.
"Not my fault if you all have loser quirks or no quirk at all," Rick said while pointing at me.
"At least I have a quirk." Said a boy who has a cleaning bottle for his head.
"Yeah, me too." Said a girl who had an extra eye in the middle of her forehead.
"Let's play a game of quirk heroes, but only those who have a quirk can participate." Said Rick looking at me.
Then everyone in the group left.
Not fair, everyone always says that I'm weird for having no quirk and that I'm a quirkless wannabe. I even saw that green-haired kid who was quirkless and was beaten because of it. Some bullies once came up to me and said that if my mom wasn't a hero, I would be beaten just like the other quirkless kids.
"What's so great about them? When I get my super cool quirk, they'll be wishing that Dante the Great and number 1 hero would talk to them." Said Dante acting haughty.
*BringgggBringggg*
Well, it looks like recess is over, time for class again.
It's 2 pm, the school would end in an hour, but while I was sketching in my notebook during class, my hand suddenly burst into blue flames.
"Teacher what happened," I say panicking and along with my panicking the flame grew in size.
"Dante calm down, that's your quirk." Said the teacher calmly analyzing the situation.
Like she said when I calmed down the flame went out.
"Wasn't he quirkless? How does he have a quirk."
"Wow Dante, that's so cool." Said various kids in class.
"Dante, come with me while I call your parents to inform them of you awakening your quirk." Said the teacher, grabbing my hands and bringing me down that hall.
I can't believe I got my quirk. I knew I wasn't quirkless.
* Timeskip 1 Week*
Dante-Pov
Mom said that we should go and see the doctor since my quirk awakened a week ago.
"Mom what do you think my quirk will be exactly?" I said while jumping up and down pulling my mom's hand with me so I can get to the doctor faster.
"Well, I don't know Dante, your father can only produce small blue flames that can barely be considered a stovetop lighter." Mom said smugly while looking at dad.
"It's ok dad, your quirk doesn't need to be useful, because when I grow up, I'll protect you, mom, and everyone. I'll become a hero so great that the symbol of my flames will light up everyone, even in their darkest hour". I say doing a dramatic pose and slightly yelling.
"Ok, my little hero but we're here at the office so tone it down will you." Said dad while crouching down to my level to speak to me.
"Ok," I said while putting up my biggest smile.
*Timeskip 7 Min*
"Your son's quirk seems to be a mutation between your Eagle Shifter and your husband's Therapeutic Flame." Said the doctor, looking at his clipboard.
" Can you explain further?" Mom said looking happy that her quirk wasn't left out.
"His quirk allows him to transform into a swift, lean, and flight-oriented bird plus he seems to be able to produce and control blue flames that have the property of him being able to manually change the temperature and healing himself, I would assume the drawbacks are the same as any flame and transformation quirk, heating up and stamina strain."
"Well, Dante what do you want your quirk to be called." Mom said while still holding my hand
I want the quirk's name to be cool and also to be swift while seeming to be fancy and classy.
"How about Phoenix's Ember because the bird is like a phoenix and the ember is so that even with my last will of fire I will still be burning brightly."
"Well, I'll log that in. Here's a lollipop boy for creating a quirk with a cool name while also having deep meaning, I don't give these out all the time." The doctor said handing me the lollipop.
* Timeskip 5 Years*
Musutafu Mall
*Mom Pov*
"Honey, what should we get our son for his 10th birthday?" Said, my husband.
"Well, I'll call him and ask what he likes, why don't you go and get us a drink over at the food court," I say digging my pocket for my phone.
"Dante, can you hear me?"
"Yeah mom," Dante said.
"Dante, we are at the mall and we want to know what type of toys you like."
"Well, I like..."
*Booooooom*
A villain burst into the mall breaking a wall that blasted off and hurt and killed many civilians with the rubble and debris.
"I'm the villain Great White and you shall be my victims for my debut into the world." The weird shark man said while posing.
"Honey," I scream watching my husband get buried under the rubble, almost positive he's dead.
"Mom." My son said on the other side of the phone, sounding worried.
"Son, I'm fine but please quiet down, I need to think," I say, trying not to grieve because if I even want the chance I need backup, so I pull out my work phone to call for assistance in dealing with this villain.
"All heroes not preoccupied please come to Musutafu Mall immediately a high tier villain appeared I request backup." Said Dante's Mom, better known as the pro hero Eagle.
*10 Min Later*
I've been fighting with this villain for 10 minutes and I can't seem to get a decent hit on him. His quirk makes him a great white shark which means that my talons can barely scratch him. I need backup immediately.
As if answering my words, the coms that were silent for the last 10 min were loud and ready.
"Mink is here for backup."
"Rumble is here for backup."
"X-Ray is here for backup."
"As the commander for this operation I pro hero Sergeant demand that all pro heroes above the top 50 ranked in the vicinity wait at the mall for information and analysis, do not rush in. If you do, you will be in violation of hero code section 15: When the fight involves a high tier villain only the hero's ranked 50 and below can participate without detailed information" said sergeant while trying to reduce the casualties.
Damn, there is no top 50. That is all I could manage to think before I'm thrashed upon a wall and pierced with a pipe. The only thing I can think is 'Ah I'm not going to make it.'
"But commander, Eagle could die," Mink says.
"I know but she is ranked 39 and as commander, I am responsible for trying to reduce the number of casualties, and if you all who aren't even ranked below 50 rushes into a fight with no information there is a high chance you will just be pointlessly sending yourself to your death."
That's all I can think before I realize that my son is still on the call and I realize that I don't have much time left.
*Dante Pov 10 Minutes Prior*
I hear an explosion over the phone and after it died down, I hear mom screaming something.
"Mom," I say while clutching my Phone
"Son I'm fine but please quiet down, I need to think." Mom said, sounding like she was in a hurry.
Then the phone goes all static for 10 minutes and I'm worrying for mom. Soon it cleared up a bit just for me to hear, " the commander for this operation I pro hero sergeant demand that all pro heroes above the top 50 ranked in the vicinity wait at the mall for information and analysis, do not rush in. If you do, you will be in violation of hero code section 15: When the fight involves a high tier villain only the hero's ranked 50 and below can participate without detailed information"
I'm instantly infuriated at them; how can they wait for information while my mom could be dying. Heroes are heroes; no matter what rank they could at least provide support.
But I snap out of my thoughts and dread what I hear next. My mom in a weak voice says "Son, your dad and I won't be able to come back home so when we are not around, please eat a lot so you can grow up big and strong..cough..cough.. Make sure you get plenty of sleep..cough.. And I'm sorry Dante but don't blame the people, they're innocent. Although I won't physically be there, I'll be watching you become a hero and save everyone around." Then the call abruptly ended.
*Plop* the phone drops but I can't believe, no I won't believe it. I pace back and forth of the house for hours waiting for mom and dad to walk through the doors

Hours passed by and as soon as the sunset, it rose again. Sitting on the couch and waiting still. Dante heard a knock at the door.
*Knock...Knock*
"Hello, is Dante here." Said a police officer.
"Yes, that's me, are you here with information on where my parents are?" Said Dante who rushed to open the door, when he did, he looked worried yet had a hopeful and expecting look in his eyes.
" Yes, Dante, we are here to inform you that despite the heroic actions your mother took and the speedy time the hero responded to the call, both your mother and father have unfortunately passed away due to a villain attack." the officer said bowing.
My brain goes numb and I quickly recall the events of yesterday and how those BASTARDS of hero's left my mother to die.
"my... MY MOTHER WAS FIGHTING AND YOU WAITED, ALL FOR YOUR PRECIOUS INFORMATION, AND BECAUSE OF THAT MY MOTHER DIED!" I said screaming at the police officers.
"I'll be back later today as it's morning and it seems that my presence is making you uncomfortable. I shall excuse myself."
The police officer quickly walked away and I was too stunned to move.
"Heroes are trash who care more about order than lives and villains are just plain scum. I will be the hero who nobody wants. The bringer of justice they say they don't need. From this day forward Dante Tanaka is dead. From now on the vigilante AZURE BIRD will be my name and I shall get rid of the scum of the streets whether the law is on my side or not.
