In the living area of the rented room number 4023, two individuals continued to chat about their seemingly impossible task as if they wanted to create a miracle. Luna watched how his face turned grim which she began to wonder if Akiro did his previous tasks like this.
"Despite its difficulty, it really caught your interest huh," Luna uttered.
Akiro swiftly leaned his back on the couch and returned to his usual blank face devoid of any emotions. "Of course, I have to do things perfectly. Anyway, John's sister named Claret was a victim of murder," he explained.
"Then?" Luna asked.
Akiro continued to give out information which meant that he must have a way to solve all these problems. "It's somewhat possible that she's alive so I didn't ignore his wish," he answered.
Luna's mind suddenly went into turmoil. Akiro's explanation always went into circles. An endless wave of information would soon get her drowned in the abyss. 'He should just say it earlier,' she thought. Then she faced him and talked with her furrowed brows.
"Then saying things like recovering the dead back to life is just for naught. We should just change the subject to how we will find out if she's still alive. Anyway, her grave doesn't have a body in it or it's possible it's fake but I think this world doesn't have the means as we do. Uhm, like DNA testing something like that. Nonetheless, where can we even find her alive, breathing body?" Luna uttered.
Akiro's eyes widened but it swiftly turned back to normal. Luna's keen eyes could always read his emotions. Moreover, his mind went baffled by the things she was blurting out. He thought that she's suggesting something that could only be done on Earth. Either way, he thought that her question didn't make any sense since he did have a way to find Claret.
"Clear your worries. Let me finish my explanation first," he said.
Luna ended up nodding her head and stopped asking questions.
"When I time-traveled back to the past where that incident happened, I watched how Claret ran hurriedly with her terrified face. When I closely examined the surroundings, I saw a masked man covered in black clothes with his bow ready to shoot but his distance was too far for the arrow to reach her. No one could have guessed who killed her unless the killer is positioned enough to not be seen in a distance except me. I can locate him no matter how far he is," he said.
Luna questioned herself on how did the killer succeeded with such distance, and ignored his slight boasting at the end, and waited for his continuation.
"Despite the distance, the man was skilled enough to shoot the arrow accurately into his victim's fragile body part which is her chest and he succeeded to shoot her twice," Akiro said as he took a cup of tea on the table which they were ignoring for a while.
"You want?" Akiro asked as he raised his cup.
"No thanks," Luna answered.
Akiro sipped some and immediately went into their business. Luna didn't get one because she didn't like drinking teas. It was a pity that nothing else but tea was currently on their table or she would have been eating from the start.
Then, she shifted her thoughts into the incident and could not help but wonder again about powers beyond human abilities. She wouldn't know how far was the distance but in her world, it wouldn't be impossible with a gun although it would need incredible sharp eyes which Claret's killer might have.
"Something's bugging me, how could she be alive if the killer managed to shot her twice?" Luna asked.
Akiro stared at her while the cup and saucer were in his hands and said, "After he's shot, Claret fell into the ground. No one saw her as it's already in the middle of the night. After that, I found her brother, John, chasing her but the knight guards successfully stopped him. They said that the witch shouldn't be saved and she deserved to be burned. That happened after and they left, leaving John screaming for his sister's name."
"Ruthless!" Luna mumbled. Her hands turned into fists and gripped it hard. She did not know the whole story but burning a living human was no better and crueler than a devil.
"What happened next? Did she survive?" she asked.
Akiro immediately continued the story after seeing her raging emotions. When she saw her expressions, he thought that doing such actions wasn't normal where she used to live.
"The last thing I watched was some unknown person took her away in the fire and vanished. I think that the knights didn't saw it happened and believed that she already turned into ash," he said.
Hearing that, Luna felt her heart tightened. "Did you saw the person?" she asked.
Akiro shook his head. "My time was running out. I have to go back to the present time and failed to see his/her face," he said.
"Then how are we going to look for her?" Luna asked as she felt her head ached for a while because of the difficulty of the task.
"We'll find out tomorrow. I can't go back to the past twice every day," he said.
Luna felt a burden was lifted off her shoulder after hearing that. Her mind was only filled with saving the girl named Claret. She badly wanted that to happen.
"Let's just hope she's still alive," Akiro said. He placed the cup and saucer onto the table and stood up.
"Let's go outside," he instructed.
"Where are we going?" Luna asked. She suddenly went confused.
"To the diner," he said.
After hearing those words, Luna's eyes lit up. She wanted to eat some food to ease her mind so she quickly followed Akiro who already opened the door. "Wait for me!" she shouted as she went outside and walked beside Akiro.
They walked down the hallway filled with red painted walls and floating candles, similar to Akiro's mansion. There were also beautiful paintings on the wall that caught Luna's attention. Nonetheless, she paid attention to him who might leave her alone again and get scolded. They walked downstairs and reached the ground floor of the huge hotel.
'Eat, eat, eat, lalala,' Luna thought as she was so excited that she could not help singing in her mind while walking.
