Soon the giant gate of the stadium banged open and many saw multiple figures there.
Many of them had red eyes. They were covering their entire bodies with cloaks and both professors and Students noticed fangs protruding out of those hoods
For a second the entire place was silent.
Both the Professor's and Students saw dorzens of figures covering their identities standing at the gate of the Stadium.
"What's going on, where are the Dementors? Those were supposed to occupy the adult wizards here." One of the hooded figures said, there was much panic in his voice.
The hooded figure around him also nodded in agreement. Many look around just to notice no sign of the dementors that they were looking for.
" What do we do, should we turn back and abandon the mission," one of the person asked the person who looked like the leader of the group.
The hooded figure who he was referring to didn't reply directly. Inside the hood, the red eyes close. He focuses all his attention on his smell.
Trying to spell their target, the person who they were here for.
"He ins't here," said the leader with anger, his voice was rough and there was a sense of irritation in his voice.
The same kind of situation was with Professors and Students. They just repelled Dementor's and survived that attack and now they are getting attack again.
But who are this people?
They where thinking the same question. Only a few professors realize who the are people standing in front of them.
"Vampire," Snape was the first to point his wand at the hooded figure and shout for everyone to know who they are dealing with.
After hearing this other professors and even students immediately jolted.
"Vampires!...here, in Hogwarts? why!!!."
"Merlin's beard. This... this has to be a planned attack on Hogwarts," Flitwick being the smart half-goblin he was, said connecting the dots.
All the Professors came forth instantly pointing their wands at the Vampires, making sure that they were protecting the students behind them.
And this was the standstill they found themselves in.
There were around 15 or so vampires while a mere 6 or 7 professors. Students can hardly protect themselves against Vampires.
The situation was tense. And finally one of the Vampire, apparently the leader spoke.
"The boy is not among them, the dementors are not here. Avoids fighting we are abandoning."
Other vampires along with him also agree.
Their plan was to strike when Albus Dumbledore wasn't in Hogwarts. Knowing they can't get close to the castle itself. They had to do much planning for this attack.
From making a contract with the Dementors to aid them to even coming here undetected. It was hard. Vampires like ordinary humans can walk in broad daylight. They could come here today because of the recent weather in Scotland. There is no sunlight today.
Easily this was the best time for them to take any action, after that, they won't be able to do anything.
The conditions like the Absence of Dumbledore, the presence of Dementers and the opening of the outer wards of Hogwarts and lastly the current weather conditions. All favour them. But what is the point if the target they work so hard for isn't even here?
Many of them are angry, all their efforts for nothing.
"Where is the boy," One Vampire who couldn't take it anymore, anger clouding his judgement asked out loud.
Hearing this other vampires quickly tried to stop him. Their mission has to remain a secret until they capture the target or kill it.
After all once the wizards know their true target, there is no way that they can reach to him.
Aftering hearing what the Vampire had to say, there was a stir in the Wizard's side. Professors and Students alike were trying to figure out what the vampire in front of them trying to impliment here.
The atmosphere was tense and a fight could break out anytime now. It's just that neither of the parties wanted that to happen now.
Professors were concerned about the safety of their students while the vampires just lost here target, there was nothing for them to fight over.
"He was here, I can sense it. He left not too long ago." A female voice came along the hooded figure.
Everyone turns their heads towards the vampire with a little smaller build. The voice of this vampire wasn't that rough.
"Can you sense where he go," Another vampire asked.
"I can't," said the female vampire as her ability somehow wasn't working well on their target for some reason. This wasn't used to be the case, it only happened this year.
Hearing this finally the other vampire deflated, there was no point staying here anymore. The plan was a failure.
If they linger around then sooner or later the wizards gonna corner them. They were never suppose to fight with the wizards in an upfront battle in the first place, plan was to let the dementors distract them while they took care of the target.
"Let's not make any unnessary moves, you don't want the little cubs behind you all to get hurt, do you." The apparent leader of the Vampire said to the professors. Hearing this both sides were a little easy. But the tension in the air was still palpable.
"What do you want, why come here," Snape was the first one to say, wizarding kind usually don't mingle themselves with other species, considering themselves superior and all, but still they let other sentient creatures live and don't kill them right off.
Both sides maintain a sense of boundary when it comes to their territory. Although the wizarding side is much stronger but Vampires can do much damage to if cornered. This might be another reason why both sides maintain some sort of balace.
But now suddenly a group of vampires barge into Hogwarts, a place where the heirs of the majority of the ancient houses are.
This is nothing less than declaring war, hell-knowing fudge who is just looking for a reason to stabilize his power in the Wizengamot.
Since ancient times rulers have done this. Whenever their rules have been threatened, they either remove those who do that or distract the masses with something like war.
But maybe the fun fact was that everyone was aware of it, the professors, and vampires and even some smart students. And yet they there were, facing the exact kind of situation where they might go on a war with a powerful race.
"We do not intend to harm any of you. We are here for only one person. Just give him to us and we will go," the Vampire leader said.
Listening to this Professors had a grim face.
Vampires infiltrated inside Hogwarts, well not technically as they themselves were not in the castle but whatever, and demanding to hand over someone.
"And what if we don't," Snape was quick to ask.
He doesn't need to listen to what the vampire wants. The situation was at a standstill for a reason right now. He doesn't have to bow down to them.
Not to mention, if they were here for someone then it's most likely that that one person is from Hogwarts.
Its absolutely impossible for Hogwarts to sacrifice someone from their staff, let alone a student.
There was no need to talk further here.
Seeing this the vampire too shut up, he could go on but he too knew that the professors won't hand over the target. Its even worst as the target was a student there.
Lastly and maybe the most troublesome thing is that if the wizarding side knew whom they are actually targeting them its most likely that they will start safeguarding the target. That would be the worst thing for them.
"We need to turn back. There is no point fighting with the wizards here." Said the leader with a wishpher, there were many groans from the vampires but ultimately they all agree, the situation wasn't good for them and it would just get worst as more time passes.
