I can't believe Dad let me down.

**Alarm rings…

It's already 7:00 AM and I'll be late for school. I get up and prepare for school as fast as I can. Why didn't my alarm wake me earlier? I should hurry or I'll be dead for being late on my first class.

"Hey, Ava? I've called you for the nth time? Why are you late? Prof. Lewis is already here. ", my best friend Nina rants as I answer my phone.

"Uhm, Nins, I'm running late. Just make sure you'll reserve a seat for me. I'm already at the parking lot. See you.", I hung up the phone.

As I was running late for my class, I saw someone familiar. I did not tend to bother since I was late and Nina updated me that there was a surprise quiz. Geez, I should have woken up early today.

Past 9:00 AM and Prof. Lewis class is already done. I release a deep sigh. "You know what Ava, you should change your habit, you're always late on your first subject." She said it with frustration in her face. I giggled and cracked a joke. "Maybe it will be better if we don't take subjects this early." My lazy ass is giving me a hard time. And we both laughed.

We were heading to the cafeteria to grab some snacks and on our way I didn't notice the bitch-head Charlotte. I accidentally bumped her and she obviously over reacted. "Hey, watch your steps bitch, do you know how expensive my Gucci shoes are? By the way, nice skirt". I saw her grin.

"Who's that bitch? I don't like her and her skirt, it looks like her old Grams skirt" Charlotte said to the other girls. They all laughed hard.

"Be careful Ava, that is Charlotte, campus Queen-bee, make sure you don't mess up with her", said Nina.

"Yeah, thank you so much Nina. Come on, let's eat", I said.

Nina became my best friend when my Dad and I moved here. It was a year ago though it feels like ages. Mom died last year due to an accident. When Dad received a call for promotion, he grabbed the opportunity to move to another place so we can have a fresh start.

Nina and I went on through our busy schedule. Alas! The day is almost done; I should head on my way home immediately.

**WAIT? WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT? AM I JUST DREAMING?

"Where are you sweetie?" It's Dad.

"On my way home Dad, why?" I asked. "Did something happen?"

"Oh no, I just wanted you to go straight with JACKOs let's grab some bite", he said.

"Okay. I'll be there in fifteen minutes, I love you" Ava said.

"Take care, sweetie. I love you too." Dad said.

I arrived at JACKOs. I saw familiar faces.**

Yes, I'm correct. I've seen her before. At Mom's wake. She's there. And what is she doing here?

"Hey, Dad" [kiss him on the cheeks] I gladly approached my father.

"Oh, you're here. That's great! Ava, this is your Tita Barbara", Dad said.

"Uh, hi!" I said in the most unenergetic way. I lacked interest. I can't explain the feeling why.

Dad held Tita Barbara's hand. "Ava, we have to tell you something", Dad said.

"What? Whoa, don't tell me? My God, I can't take this. I think I should go." I hurriedly went out as fast as I could.

I drove my car far away from that place. Why is Dad with that woman? Are they having an affair long before Mom passed away? Why? I cried out loud. Did Dad betray me?
