章節 2: TO THE QUIET PLACE

I drove my car as fast as I could. Away from that place. Away from two of them. I cried out loud. I cried so hard and went to the place I hated the most.

"Moooommm!!!" I cried so hard. Why did Dad do this to me? Why did he forget you so easily? I cried until sunset. I cried until no tears ran on my cheeks. I headed home that night and went straight to my room.

I remember Mom as the most caring mother in the world. Dad was so busy at work. But Mom made sure that she always had time with me. I love how she smiles and greets me in the morning. I love her curly and brown eyes. I miss my mom.I miss her so much.

Mom and I were best friends. We know each other well. She knows how to calm me when I feel anxious about things.

I really wanted to hug her again.... Those were my thoughts in between my sobs.

**FLASHBACK**

A year ago, I asked Mom to let me attend a party at Jacob's place. It's raining so hard that day and a storm is coming however I'm still persistent.

"Mom, come on. It's already summer vacation and we will not see each other for a long time." Ava asked.

I really had a good time. I danced, drank, and party all night....

*It was past midnight Mom was calling me. I didn't bother to check my phone. The rain outside is getting stronger...

I didn't notice the time since the wee hours were full of fun. I drank a lot and forgot to update her. She's damn worried.

I have no idea that Mom will drive to Jacob's house just to pick me up. I was preparing to go home with Sam when she arrived.

Geez, imagine your Mom picking you up after a party? I became mad here.

"Why did you pick me up? I was supposed to go home with Sam." I complained.

"Hey sweetie, I'm just worried. You didn't answer your call. I thought something happened to you." Mom said.

"Mom, I'm not a baby anymore. You don't have to babysit me 24/7. I am so embarrassed. Don't you trust me?" Ava said.

"Ava, watch your words. I'm still your Mom", Mom said.

"Yeah, you are my mom. But you're too much! I wish you'll be gone and I'm free on whatever I want to do"...

We continued to argue until we reached the intersection. Mom was preoccupied with our argument and she didn't notice a truck coming. And everything became dark...

*I woke up after a week....

Dad was right next to me.. He hugged me so tight! "Ava, Mom's gone. Be strong sweetie!", his tears broke.

I was shocked! " Nooooo... This can't happened." I shouted. My tears keep on falling.. I wanted to go out and look for Mom. "This ain't true! Mom is still alive."

"Dad, don't pull prank on me!", Ava begged his Dad.

Dad hugged me tightly.. "Be calm sweetie, your Mom is already in heaven now."...

After I was discharged from the hospital, I went straight to Mom's tomb. I didn't even had the chance to see her at her last moment on earth. "Mom, I'm really sorry! I'm sorry".. Ava broke into tears...

She stayed until sunset trying to remember everything that happened...

Ava cried a lot until she fall asleep...

Into her mind, she wish she didn't utter those words. She wish she didn't went to that party.. Maybe, her Mom is still alive.. If she haven't been a bad girl, maybe her Mom is still alive....
