摘要
Magic is wondrous, and Ethan well intends on exploring everything it has to offer, even if he has to attend a dangerous school inhabited by giant, child eating snakes, and targeted by a semi-immortal Dark Lord. Unfortunately, things are not so simple as the world is a whole lot larger than he first thought, and to add to that, he is the grandson of the Dark Lord who terrorized the entire world half a century ago. Well, at least he can count on his knowledge of the plot, right?

You’d think with a title like that he’d be on the dark side but no, so far all his actions have painted him as a good guy. It also doesn’t help that he’s a major doormat. People spit on him and what does he do? He forgives them. Confused why the silly author bothered to make him a Grindelwald if he was gonna do this.
Here is my review up to chapter 45. The title is clickbait depending on your interpretation of it. I think when reading the title, most people would expect a dark story. This is not a dark story. The MC gets a random mythical creature that is NOT in the canon lore which I thought was dumb because you literally have a plethora of canon creatures to choose from. The MC is shaping up to be some sort of generic light lord/light proponent. Pretty much in every part of the story the MC is viewed as suspicious/feared/ostracized (except for a few close friends) and gets falsely accused of things by multiple people, multiple times. He saves the day, fixes the problem, and forgives everybody (lol). Moving on to the good, the updating stability is phenomenal and you can expect a chapter every day. The writing quality is also quite good compared to most of the works you will find on WN. Ultimately, I won’t be reading anymore because frankly the direction this story took is quite boring and generic in my opinion.
MC starts off 'loving' magic and being mature. Then the moment he gets to Hogwarts his memories/metaknowledge of the HP world is 'fuzzy', he becomes childish, can't be bothered with half the magic classes, and doesn't want to read books to learn. Then of course we have to obligatory special/unique familiar. A lot of things are contradictory or just plain wrong as well. The only real positive is the grammar.
New story obliges, I'm writing the first review. For this story, expect an AU Harry Potter story, taking place in Hogwarts. The story won't revolve around Harry Potter, although the changes brought to him and his family (wink wink) will be explored, the story will revolve around the main character, Ethan, in his discovery of magic, its world and its reaction to him.
ok I give it a 1 because most people don't read the 5s so this book is pretty good it but the fanfic is well thought out till chapter 12 because there is no more chapters as I'm writing this but it reminds me of "HP: a magic journey "if you have not read it I recommend its really good read
Be warned, the title is bait. The mc isn't really a dark lord or a true Slytherin type character or a character who dabbles in the gray zone. The MC is basically basically a Gryffindor minus the hot-headed part. MC sides more with the golden trio and Gryffindor than his own house. Readers read dark lord or Slytherin titles hoping the mc ain't a goody two shoe, that evenytually becomes buddy buddy with Gryffindors just because 🤦♂️
Interesting story, though plot feels forced, and somehow the writer is able to change the plot and make it the same simultaneously, not to mention the MC becomes more childlike in his thoughts and actions the more the story progresses, the last few chapters is like watching a train
Trash with good grammar, trying to attract readers with the "dark" title. Patetic. .
Well if you like having 5 chapter of the same event but with different pov, or even wait for 15 chapter for a simple event to end just to ahead I’m sure you’ll love it
I have read the first eleven chapters and i can say this is one of the best Harry Potter fanfics.I think it has the potential to be as good as arcane thieve.(don't take the spelling mistakes to hearth)

If you are looking for a dark, ambitious, mature MC then you should just leave instead of falling for the CLICKBAIT title. I really liked the start of the story, it was good and really helped in the MC's emotion development. But man, I was disappointed. The MC was quite mature and smart until the Hogwarts Arc started and everything went downhill. The MC suddenly becomes stupid and hot headed emotional wimp falling for small provocations and things especially after all those years of practicing meditation which should have made in more proficient in controlling his emotions. When he got his custom wand, he transfigured the table into a tree and transfigured it back into the table, but he couldn't transfigure a match into a proper needle and he even said that he focuses more on the intentional magic instead of incantational magic which is a requirement for a good transfiguration. At this point it was a waste for him to choose Slytherin, when he acts like a stupid Gryffindor. I really had high hopes for this story but Alas! all in vain.

The story is good and all but why are you trying to undermine his achievements and making him out to be that bad guy, he should be cleared of all charges yet you make people still accuse him doesn’t make sense

I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much since most HP fics are pretty similar but I enjoyed binge reading all the chapters would total recommend
This is truly one of the best HP fanfics I’ve ever read. And to all the people who called the MC pathetic and weak for having empathy, go F yourselves. This is what we call character development.
Highly talented author, excellent story so far. Mc has a really powerful kitsune pet (mind reading, supernatural strength, illusion, mind control, flame manipulation, assassination, etc.), hopefully it is used as more of a social character than as a deus ex machina plot armor device but I’m probably wrong. I think having a reasonably strong main character is ultimately more satisfying than someone overpowered that can win without trying, fingers crossed
Are you also going to throw a tantrum and drop this fic if it does not get 10 million views? Maybe get a few hundred dollars and leave? Seeing your track record of dropping fics and this one having a P@tre0n at the start of the story does not create a lot of confidence. But we will see.
