章節 1: Goodbye Old Life
I yawned as I sat in class and listened to the teacher's lesson. I looked out the window, like any main character would. The teacher looked at me and flicked the chalk at my forehead. I caught the chalk and gave a smug smile. "Heh, I've caught on this time Ms. Chi-" I groaned as a bucket hit my face then I fell back on my chair.
"Bet you didn't see that one huh." Ms. Chiziwa smirked.
The class laughed softly and I sat up then rubbed my nose.
The girl next to me looked at me and smiled. "You okay big brother?" The girl asked.
"Never better.." I sighed and got up then sat my chair up to sit back down.
The girl beside me is my younger sister, Orimi Asato. She is an 18 year old girl who happened to get the same class as me. She has long red hair and blue eyes. Oh yeah I'm Yoshida Asato, a 19 year old academy student. My life is as ordinary as the next. My life involves me taking care of my sister since our parents are away on a trip to God knows where and spending my time on anime and games at home.
"Now! Can anyone answer this math equation? Yoshida would-"
"No." I sighed and closed my eyes, placing my elbow on the desk and rested my cheek on the palm of my hand. "You just threw an entire bucket at my face. I'm in no mood to answer questions."
Ms. Chiziwa giggled and crossed her arms. "Fair enough."
The bell rang and everyone started to pack up.
"Okay everyone! Remember to study! We have a quiz tomorrow on lessons three and four! Let's keep our class average high! So I can rub it in Mr. Shima's face that my class is smarter than his..!" She mumbled that last part then put on her pretty face again.
I put my notebooks in my bags then stood up. Another girl walked in front of me and looked at me with a bored expression.
She grabbed my sleeve. "Walk home with me." She demanded.
This girl is Mae Ara, an 18 year old girl and possibly the smartest girl in the class. She has short white hair that stopped at the middle of her neck and gray eyes. There was a rumor that she had a crush on me, but her bored expression makes it hard to tell.
I looked at Orimi and she smiled.
"Don't worry big brother, you can go on ahead with Mae. I have my after school club activities after school anyway. I'll meet you at home before dinner though!" Orimi waved then hurried out the classroom.
I smiled then decided to walk home with Mae.

We walked down a path together. She held the strap of her bag with both of her hands and held her bag in front of her. She looked down at her bag then I looked at her.
"So, that quiz tomorrow. Do you think it will be hard?" I asked to break the silence.
"Negative." She answered almost immediately.
I looked ahead then rubbed the back of my head. "God...you're so quiet all the time. Why? It is actually hard to speak to you."
"Because why communicate when your actions can speak for themselves?" Mae said.
"Yet you want to hang out with me?" I asked.
She looked at me. "That's because I find it easier to talk to you. You don't hide your feelings. You say what's on your mind. I like that about you."
I closed my eyes and sighed then opened my eyes to look at her. "Are you being serious?"
She looked ahead. "Yes."
Mae was always so mysterious and quiet. It was always so hard to understand how she felt because of her lack of human emotion.
I felt my phone buzz and an alert popped up.
{Monster sighting at Fujitori! Please stay in your homes until further notice!}
"Huh? That's where we are. Ma-" I looked to the side and noticed Mae gone. "Where did she go..?"
I walked ahead to go home as the alert said. As I walked home I heard rustling in the bushes. I stopped and looked at the bushes then noticed a white blob land in front of me. I looked at the white blob then noticed a mouth forming on the blob. I looked in disgust then noticed the blob turn to me.
'Shit...what do I do?' I thought to myself then noticed a stick on the ground.
I looked back at the blob and noticed it floated up. It opened its mouth then threw up green acid. It gave a putrid stench. I gagged then covered my mouth and ran to get the stick. I picked up the stick but couldn't make it before I threw up. I coughed and wiped my mouth. I turned around and noticed the blob flying straight to me. I grunted then held the stick like a baseball bat. I swung and hit the blob, but the blob stuck to the stick.
"You've got to be kidding.." I said then threw the stick at the bushes.
"Ouch..!" A voice said from the bushes.
I looked at the bushes again then noticed a figure standing up from the bushes. I looked surprised then noticed it was a girl whose skin was snow white and she had blue glowing eyes. Her hair was white and super long styled in pigtails that were braided.
"Did you throw this stick at me..?" The girl asked.
"Fuck.." I said to myself then took a step back.
She glared at me and jumped up then a bigger white blob appeared beneath her. She landed on the white blob and pointed at me. "Kill that human."
The white blob formed a mouth and opened its mouth gaping wide then exhaled releasing a poisonous mist. I covered my nose, but I could still smell the stench.
I coughed and held out my hand. "Wait..! Please stop!" I begged.
The girl looked at me and snapped her fingers. The blob stopped releasing poisonous mist and closed its mouth. "Pleading for your life huh? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't destroy you and all of humanity at that."
I uncovered my nose and looked at the girl. "Because...Because...Just please don't kill me! Or anyone at that! I can make it up to you! What do you want? Money? Food?"
She looked at me then her eyes stopped shining and turned orange. "What I want is to not be targeted by those humans who want to kill me. I haven't done anything wrong...I am confused on how I got here..."
I looked at her then noticed her sorrowful eyes. She held the tiny blob in her arms and closed her eyes. "Many deaths have happened because of you though. Your blobs have killed many people and probably more! They are searching for you right now."
She shook her head left and right. "It's not my fault! It isn't my fault that they hurt them!"
My phone beeped and I looked at it then noticed another alert.
{If you see a monster girl of white skin and blue eyes, report immediately to the MHHQ! She is a Level 5 Threat and must be eliminated immediately!}
I showed her the alert and looked at her. "Look."
She looked at my phone then at me. "Please don't report me. I don't want to die...Please..."
I looked at her then heard how afraid she was. I sighed and ruffled my head then held my hand out. "Come home with me...I'll make sure they can't harm you."
She looked at me with hopeful eyes then nodded, taking my hand. She sensed an attack from above.
"Target sighted." A man said in his mecha suit. "Permission to shoot."
"Permission granted." A woman said into his earpiece.
He fired a laser beam at the girl. She held her hand out then her tiny blob grew in size then became sturdy enough to tank the beam, protecting me and her.
"Let's go home~" She looked at me and smiled.
"Commander! The target has...That's Yoshida Asato! Switching to Blaster Mode!" The man said.
"Wait! Don't fire! That's a civilian! Killing an innocent civilian will lead to more problems on our end!" The woman said.
"What do you think we should do?" The man asked.
"Let then go for now. We shall send a unit to his house soon. Just retreat back to HQ for right now!" The woman said through his earpiece.
"Affirmative." The man said then flew off.
...
I closed the door behind us and sighed then looked at the girl. "Alright...Now I'm sure I have the whole MHHQ after me. Anyway what is your name?"
"My name..? I don't have a name.." The girl said.
"No name huh..?" I looked at her then walked over to the white board. I wrote the name Rimuri on the board. "How does Rimuri sound?"
"I like it." She nodded and smiled. "Rimuri."
I smiled back then noticed the door opening. Rimuri got defensive and summoned her white blob.
"Big brother!" Orimi ran in the house and froze seeing Rimuri. "B-Big brother..?"
"Are you with those hunters or no? If you are I must eliminate you." Rimuri glared at Orimi.
"Whoa whoa! Rimuri stand down!" I yelled. "She's my sister!"
"What's going on?!" Orimi yelled.
"Everyone just calm down! Orimi close the door! I'll explain everything to you." I sighed then watched her close the front door and Rimuri made her white blob disappear.
